Wade making Zoe's gumbo in the third episode, even sweeter was the fact he took no credit for it.
Wade's father, Crazy Earl, is the town drunk, always sponging money off his son. Wade tries to get Earl to sell a bit of land he owns, though Earl had meant to leave it to his sons, so he'll stop hitting Wade up for money. Turns out Earl doesn't need the money — he just wants to know his son still loves him. When Wade understands, he relents. And then it turns out Earl hasn't been spending the money; he's been burying it on his land, a nest egg for his sons to find when he's gone.
