Heartwarming / Fuuka

Go To

  • The extra chapter wherein Suzuka and Yamato were arguing about what present they should give to Fuuka on her birthday. After being interrupted by Fuuka, they resorted to let Fuuka choose what she wants to do in the future.
  • After hearing Yuu's suggestion of getting new members for the Hedgehogs, Nobu turned him down.
Nobu: It was the five of us who made the band.
  • Sometime before the beginning of the manga's story, Fuuka Akitsuki met Fuuka Aoi while she was attending summer school. After talking about her problem in finding what she wants and helping Aoi find her pick, she eventually noticed that her classmates were looking for her. Before parting ways, Aoi reassured her.
Fuuka Aoi: I'm sure you'll find that thing that's important to you.
  • Yuu feels down after bombing a concert. During the Fallen Moon's next gig, he was on the verge of another breakdown when the lights turned on until he saw Fuuka Aoi watching on the front row and cheering him on.
Fuuka Aoi: Sing already! No one's heard of you!.
  • Before the Fallen Moon's concert at Budoukan, Yuu visits Fuuka's grave and eventually met her mother, Suzuka. It is then when he found out that Fuuka has a gift for him. It turned out to be a song that Fuuka made while she was still alive.
  • Just before Fuuka's death, she leaves a voice mail on Yuu's phone, saying that she had a dream that The Fallen Moon played at Budokan, and later that she's gone a bit early. When the band finally plays at Budokan, after Fuuka's death, they have an extra microphone set up in memory of Fuuka, because to them, her spirit was still a part of the band.
  • The Blue Wells half of the manga is by no means short on those moments.
    • Blue Wells voluntarily taking on the nearly impossible task of selling 5000 CDs to earn 5 million yen, paying for all touring expenses out of their own pockets, just to save the company.
    • The manager telling them she put their album on iTunes for fans to by, so that they didn't have to rely on only physical album sales.
    • Blue Wells deciding to throw their own festival, when they can't get any concert bookings anywhere because of Zeta Music.
    • When nobody in the industry wants to be involved in the Blue Summer Festival and no bands want to play at first, Kanaria signs up as the first band other than Blue Wells. Soon, over 20 other bands join the lineup, including Rabbitz, Le Bard, Colt Python and even the HEDGEHOGS featuring Hinashi Koyuki on vocals instead of the now-mute Tama.
    • When Blue Wells can't get anyone to set up the stages, deliver food and drinks, and handle lights and sound for the festival, countless people they've interacted with in the past come together to help make the festival even more awesome than the one the HEDGEHOGS threw the year before.
    • When there's only less than a month left before the festival, they still need to earn another 12 million yen to make it possible, and Makoto's dad tries to convince Makoto not to waste anymore time on music, and says that he can have Blue Wells' festival made impossible with just one phone call. Only after Makoto hits his father, does the father actually acknowledge Makoto's desire to be a musician, and anonymously donates 10 million yen as if it was pocket change, making the festival possible, even if they didn't reach their goal of 30 million yen (having mostly volunteers eagerly working for free also helped them cut down quite a lot on the costs of throwing a festival).
    • During Blue Wells performance at their own festival, Akitsuki Fuuka's spirit appears to the band to protect them from a damaged billboard, then stays with them for the rest of the concert. Her last words before leaving are "That was the best birthday present ever!"
    • In the end, the president of Zeta Music is kicked out of her own company by the board, because she went way too far to prevent Blue Wells from playing, to the point where she would have allowed sabotage and murder just to get her way. Right after that, the embargo on Blue Wells is gone, and Blue Wells gets more booking offers than they can actually handle.
  • Suzuka giving Fuuka some much-needed motherly advice in the last episode of the anime. Adding to the heartwarming is the fact that Suzuka got to give such advice to her daughter in the first place, on account of Fuuka surviving her encounter with the truck which killed her in the manga.
  • Yuu and Fuuka together at the shrine in the final epilogue of the last episode of the anime, with Fuuka grabbing his arm and saying to him "Let's be together forever from now on!" after Yuu reveals that he prayed for the band and for him to always be with her. Regardless of whether or not one agrees with the decision to spare Fuuka her fate in the manga, it's definitely a good way to end the anime on a high note.
  • The final chapter's cover page, which features the main band standing proudly with Akitsuki in the center.
