  • After Martin Kirby's interference forced a "no contest" onto El Ligero vs. Jay Lethal for the ROH World Heavyweight Championship at WCPW Loaded #2 (especially with the match being played with ROH rules and ROH officials being present), it was clear that, despite Ligero's sadness, Lethal enjoyed the match so much, he promised Ligero to give him a rematch.
"What I'm going to say... I don't think anybody's gonna like, but... to get authority to put the ROH title on the line, anytime in a match, I've got to get the clearance at ROH... and unfortunately, the officials are here. But... that doesn't mean, Ligero, that doesn't mean that it's the last time or shot we're gonna get, and although I can't do it right now, I'm gonna swear to you, right now, by God, for as long as I'm the ROH world champion, you are 100% guaranteed a shot. It just that it can't be done today. And, dammit! Dammit! I'm a mighty champion, I wanted somebody to push me over my limit, like you, I wanna go again. I really do. 'Cause you just proved that you bring out the best in me, 'cause you are one of the best! Maybe where, Ligero, it would be an honor for me to defend this at another time against you, because, goddamn it, you deserve it."
  • Primate's retirement speech at the end of Road to No Regrets. He spoke about how he came to the promotion, the many achievements he has accomplished (first Hardcore Champion, first 2x champion, first person to hold two belts at once...) and how in a match with Jimmy Havoc he broke his jaw so hard, he couldn't speak, so he needed surgery. At the end of the speech, and with loud "THANK YOU PRIMATE!" chants, the Defiant locker room, including the women, entered the ring to give the props to him.
"Primate was born here, and it's here where Primate should stay."
    • What was Stu Bennett's last act as Defiant GM before he departed? Transferring the GM role to "The artist formerly known as Primate".
