  • Preston and Denise signing the Yearbook Girl's yearbook doesn't seem like much at first, but becomes more touching upon seeing how many people refuse to do so in nasty ways. Likewise, Amanda is willing to sign it later on before she gets distracted looking for Preston's picture.
  • The yearbook girl asking Denise to sign her yearbook is treated as an annoyance, but it's actually kind of nice that she knows who Denise is even though she doesn't have a picture in the yearbook, given how multiple other people aren't even sure if Denise goes to their school.
  • The geeky William becoming popular due to entertaining the partygoers by drunkenly singing "Paradise City" is pretty nice, especially when he ends up Crowd Surfing. The socially awkward student who starts playing "Paradise City" and is up there doing an air guitar with William also has a lot of fun and calls it the greatest night of his life.
  • While the Girl Posse trio are too shallow to do a good job of comforting Amanda over her breakup, they at least make an effort rather than shut her out now that she's no longer dating Mike. They also get mad when Mike insults her after she refuses to take him back, and approve of how Mike is left humiliated.
  • Amanda reading Preston's letter and their following attempts to connect may or may not set up a rewarding romantic subplot, but it's nice seeing Amanda get validation that people do see her as someone other than just Mike's girlfriend.
  • Mike and William drunkenly striking up an Odd Friendship (to the point where Mike lies to the cops to keep William from getting in trouble) is quite touching, even if Mike proceeds to ruin it with his Ignored Epiphany.
  • Denise and Kenny reminiscing about the fun they had as kids.
  • Preston and Denise's Amicable Exes and best friends' interactions in general.
  • The stripper who Preston gets into an argument with over a phone booth ends up giving him relationship advice.
  • The feuding band members reconcile when the lead singer swallows his pride and asks for one of the shirts he'd previously insulted.
  • One of Mike's Jerk Jock cronies gets a small redeeming moment when he carries his passed out girlfriend to safety as everyone flees the party.
  • In a Deleted Scene, the Butt-Monkey party host gets a small consolation when her dog (which ran away in another deleted scene) finally comes home.
  • The Reminiscing Guy and the Yearbook Girl have a cute Commonality Connection Pair the Spares moment at the end. This is more pronounced in an extended version of the party scene where she's knocked into the pool and he helps her out.
