** "Polock" is also another word for a Polish person, sometimes used offensively. Localizers probably didn't want to mixup the two, while Poffins had no such issue.

* Polocks were localized as "Pokéblocks" in English. So why weren't Poffins localized as "Pokémuffins"?

** But there's also the problem of how the Distortion World operates and Origin Giratina's Ability. With how it interacts with spacetime in RealLife, it makes WAY more sense for Giratina to be the ''gravity'' Pokémon. That'd even explain its typing, as ghosts can float around and ignore gravity in a way Flying-types can't quite replicate.

** Reading the dialogue, Cyrus had temporarily gone mad because he was all set to launch his grand plan and then this unknown shadowy Pokémon just shows up outta nowhere and drags him into the Distortion World. Plus, when you encounter him before the final battle with him, he does say that he still wants to create a world without spirit and then after you beat/capture/run away from Giratina, he goes back to normal after a brief rant and says that one day, you'll awaken in his world without spirit.

*** You're talking about the poster children for PoorPredictableRock. What makes you think they'd try to avoid CripplingOverspecialization when their whole team is built around using a single type?

** In the games at least, they're probably supposed to be muffins. The name reads like a portmanteau of Pokémon and muffin, and mixing berries into the batter is reminiscent of how blueberry muffins are made.

** Maybe the seal on the case isn't very good? You do spend most of your time roughing it out in the wilderness.
