  • Y'know, kids' teeth fall out on their own. There's no need to get psychotically hostile about it.
    • Except it's explained in the film that the creatures are only pacified by teeth, but it's not ultimately what they want. They crave Human Sacrifices
  • Bolting the grate shut is well and good, but why not pour concrete in there until it's ''full?'
    • It's pretty much shown from the beginning that the homunculi basically run the house. Even if they could get concrete into the grate, the monsters could still very easily fight back and escape through the house's crawlspaces. Additionally, the underground furnace is depicted as clearly Bigger on the Inside, so even by the time you'd get to pour 40+ gallons into the grate, you'd already be dead.
    • But Alex and Sally escaped and know what's down there. If I were Alex, I'd buy a grenade and get rid of the homunculi that way. Let's see them escape that!
    • The whispers of the homunculi at the end of the movie imply that they do worry that something like that would happen. That's why they decide to go deeper and deeper and wait until everyone has forgotten. Presumably they're able to retreat so far underground that Alex can't reach them and then wait until he and Sally are dead (since the story would sound absolutely insane, there's little chance of either convincing more people to be on guard for the humunculi, after all).
    • What if it didn't work and they did escape? Now there are evil fairies who are really mad at you, and there's nothing to hold them back at all.
  • At the end of the movie, the house is finished, Kim is taken and transformed into one of the homunculi, the grate is sealed up and Sally and her father leave the house behind. However, what happened between that time? The grate was sealed again between the final attempt by the homunculi to claim Sally(it was open when Alex got her out of the house and it was sealed and bolted again when the pair returned). Was there was no investigation into a disappearance in terms of Kim? What about the body of Blackwood's homunculi, smashed flat by Sally's flashlight?
  • Alex was there late at night when Kim disappears suddenly, with a large number of broken windows and doors and spilled blood left from the night. Wouldn't the police be just a little interested in what happened?
    • On that count, Mr. Harris could serve as a witness to the existence of the homunculi, and they have the smashed body of at least one. It's possible that it was a case of the government stepping in and hushing everything up while they studied the remains of the dead homunculus.
  • In the bathroom scene, the Blackwood homunculus exits the ventilation and puts its arm around a smaller creature. Most likely, this creature was his son before they were both transformed.
    • Sadly(or not, depending on your feelings)the same creature is smashed by Sally with the bookcase when the homunculi attack her in the library.
