• OK, so how exactly did Lisa get to Zamunda to marry Akeem?
  • By plane or by ship.
  • Semmi probably helped facilitate the whole thing, as he was closest to to the situation. Look how hard he fights to hide that wicked, knowing smile at the wedding.
• Shouldn't Akeem know that "fuck you" is an insult? He seems educated and old enough to know what those are. Or is he just that ditzy/happy-go-lucky?
  • Either it's not a word he was taught and unused to disrespect or he's being amusingly sarcastic.
• What happened to the Bride chosen for Akeem?
  • In Coming 2 America, it is revealed that yes, 30 years later, she in fact is still hopping on one foot and barking like a dog.
  • You know, he never did tell her to stop hopping on one foot and making dog noises...
  • This troper was especially frightened of the fact that the bride was trained for his tastes and habits. And now she is on the slab-heap.
  • Maybe this is too Pair the Spares, but I like to think she and Semmi got together.
    • Semmi was last seen with another woman after Akeem's wedding (IIRC the royal taste-tester); perhaps Akeem's betrothed got married off to someone else?
