• The Running Gag of Gouma, the old fisherman, calling Ken a "stupid foreigner" and giving him trouble whenever he makes an appearance.
• After Gouken sends off Ryu and Ken to the falls, we get this bit between Ryu and Ken:
  Ken: Come on Ryu, 1000 yen says I beat your ass to the lake!
  Ryu: But don't you still owe me from last time?
  Ken: Oh yeah? Watch me clear that debt now.
• In episode 2, Ryu and Ken receive a rude awakening courtesy of Gouken by hearing their master repeatedly shout "Fire!" when there is none.
• Dan being mentioned by Ken in episode 3
  Ryu: It seems like the more time we spend here, the more questions arise.
  Ken: Yeah, like who the hell is Dan?
• Ryu and Ken go bar-hopping, much to the hesitance of Ryu in episode 4.
  Ken: Do you have my back?
  Ryu: Always.
  Ken: Good, now do you trust me?
  Ryu: Not entirely, no.
  Ken: One out of 2, that's good enough.
  • The Cameo of Street Fighter 4 producer Yoshinori Ono as the announcer of the fights at the club.
  • Some army heads overhear Ryu analyzing one of their men's fighting styles as "big, but lacks technique". One of the men then retorts by calling Ryu and Ken "karate kids", which leads to Ken betting that he will kick their asses for 10,000 yen. Ryu stops Ken, which leads to this exchange:
  Ryu: *in Japanese* Ken, what are you doing?!
  Ken: *in Japanese* Don't worry. *In English towards the army men* Bet 15 grand says my boy here can take out your champ over there first.
  Army Man: It's your funeral, boy!
  Ken: It's okay, Ryu, you got this guy!
  Ryu: I do?!
  Ken: Yeah man, just...finish him quick before he kills you. No holding back, come on!
  • After his victory in a street fight, Ryu and Ken celebrate at the bar.
  Ryu: Well, that escalated quickly.
  Ken: You think? (notices a group of people who were badly beaten by Ryu walk by) Thanks guys!
  • After Ryu and Ken down their shots, they see the fight announcer laugh at them until he passes out on the floor, then they see Gouma and leave as he is about to rat them out for being underage at a bar.
  • Then there's the morning after:
  Ken: Was Gouken even here last night?
  Ryu: I don't know, I'm in no condition to train.
  Ken: Come on, you had fun.
  • After Ken tells Ryu that he's going to stay and finish his training, we get this:
  Ryu: Hold on. One more thing, does this place give you a strange feeling?
  Ken: Like how?
  Ryu: Like a strange ki hanging around here.
  Ken: Not really. You take drugs last night?
  Ryu: Huh?
• In episode 10, as Ryu and Ken are sparring at the lake, Gouma calls out to them once more and tells Ryu that he finished his song for him that he's been working on for a year, much to Ken's irritation.
  Ken: (in Japanese) Shut up! You've been saying that for a year you senile old bastard!!
  Gouma: Shut up woman. I didn't ask you to sing over Ryu's song.
  • Gouma asks Ryu and Ken to show him their Hadoukens. Ryu manages to reach where Gouma is, while Ken's doesn't reach that far, and Gouma taunts him on it.
  • After Gouken comes back with some stuff on the truck, he hands Ken a package from his father, which contains a copy of Mega Man 2. Ryu and Ken leave to go play it while Gouken is left handling the groceries.
  Ken: Oh shit, Ryu! Mega Man 2!
  *Ken and Ryu shout in joy and leave to go play it*
  Gouken: Boys! Come back!

  • As Ryu and Ken play Mega Man 2, we get this:
  Ken: You know man, for a country bumpkin, you sure know how to play video games.
  Ryu: We Japanese made these games. It's in the blood.
  *Gouken pops his head in and sees them playing*
  Gouken: Is the new game any good?
  Ken: It's pretty rad, sensei. Wanna give it a try?
  Gouken: I fear of putting you both to shame.
  Ken: If Ryu's skills are anything to go by, you're probably not joking.
• In episode 11, as Ken is meditating near the lake, Gouma sees him and taunts him some more from the opposite side. Ken launches a hadouken near Gouma's spot, which creates a huge splash on the water that knocks him to the ground.
  Ken: *in English* How do you like me now, asshole?!
  Gouma: Help me! Help me! When did I ask you to kill me?!
