• Adela is alone in the house when a burglar breaks in. At first she thinks it's just Joe playing a prank and smacks him upside the head, but when she realizes what is going on, she calls for help and tries to escape. He forces her to sit down, so she switches tactics:
  Adela: Usted, usted no habla español, ¿verdad? No, si no, me lo imaginaba^translation You, you don't speak Spanish, do you? No, of course not, didn't think so Yo espiki Inglish. Peña family, Cuban reFOOgee, work very very hard in United States.
  (Burglar ignores her. Adela is more exasperated than scared)
  Adela: ¡A este le importan tres pepinos la tragedia que tuvimos! (This one does not give three craps about the tragedy we've had!)
