Funny / Dennis the Menace (UK)

  • Arguably the 1996 cartoon is a riot from start to finish, due to its campy voice acting and (intentionally) narmy storylines.
  • The cartoon episode "Couldn't Catch a Cold" is a scary episode, but it still has humour:
    • Dennis tricking the lunch lady into letting him eat all the dessert by pretending to be three separate children (he does so by covering his face and putting on a fake accent the second two times) and then pulling the old "look behind you" trick.
    • Dennis pretends that he's caught the cold and says, "This cold is definitely real". His mother is not convinced because she was there when he pretended to have chicken pox, be pregnant, and that his arm had fallen off (the latter of which he does by throwing a plushy's arm on the ground, hiding his own arm up his sleeve, and using his other arm to point at the toy's arm on the floor).
    • Dennis says, "What did Gran say?" and remembers her bragging about being able to fit a coconut in her mouth. He then remembers that she perpetuated the Catch Your Death of Cold myth, so he tries to catch a cold by having Gnasher shake water on him, walk in the rain in summer clothes, put ice in his pyjamas, and sleep with heaps of fans on. None of these attempts work.
  • From the cartoon episode "Dennis and the Grownups":
    • A hippie therapist-type dude who believes that laughter is the key to everything ends up bouncing down the street tied to a spring-loaded chair as the result of one of Dennis's pranks.
    • Dennis tricking one of his friends into thinking that grownups suffer from hypoxia due to their height and that vegetables turn children into grownups.
