  • In general, his Running Gags of…
  • In Episode 2, his encounter with a Phanpy:
Chugga: Oh my god as soon as I cut the video I found a Phanpy!
    • Even funnier is that it flees the second he goes to try to capture it.
  • Chugga's difficulties trying to catch Growlithe in Episode 4. First Phanpy causes him to run away from one twice, and the third time, he accidentally knocks it out in one hit thanks to a critical. The fourth time he finally catches one, after it loses most of its health in another one-hit critical. He's as confused about the varying damage as we are.
  • In Episode 10, Chugga finds out that Bugsy is a boy. (DUN DUN DUNNNNN!)note
  • In Episode 11, he accidentally says that the TM for Headbutt is the TM for Repel, having spoken about Repels a few seconds sooner. Made funnier by his note about it.
  • In Episode 18, Chugga talks about a Pokémon he wants to find in the Burned Tower and gets into an encounter with the Koffing he's looking for... only to erupt in pure joy (and practically overload his microphone) when it turns out to be Shiny.
Chugga: There is a Pokémon I want to get in this area, so let's just look around for it for a second...
    (encounter starts)
Chugga: Maybe this is it now.
    (Koffing slides onscreen)
Chugga: Yes, this is it and —
(Koffing's colors pop in and it sparkles)
Chugga: OH MY GOD! (breaks into elated laughter)
  • In Episode 21, Chugga comments that the ladders in a dungeon don't match up at all well with where they are on different floors, and says he will put up a map in post-production showing how off they are. In a Description Cut, the screen then flashes to a message from a stunned Chugga saying that he put the map together and it turned out all the ladders were exactly where they should be.
  • In Episode 22, his Buffy Speak when he sees Suicune in Cianwood:
Chugga: It's that thing! The thing with the stuff and the thing from the thing!
(pop-ups of pictures of Suicune with the label "Thing", Entei with the label "Stuff", Raikou with the label "Thing", and the Burned Tower with the label "Thing that they happen to be from")
  • In Episode 24, the reaction to finding out that Jasmine is not a redhead (which also snaps him out of the infatuation with Jasmine).
"YOU'RE NOT REALLY A REDHEAD! You had work done on your sprite!"
  • In Episode 26, on his first (unseen and scrapped) attempt to catch the red Gyarados, all of his Balls fail. Second attempt: got it in one Great Ball. His reaction, predictably, is You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!.
  • In Episode 28, with Electrodes using Self-Destruct on him, he tries to steal their thunder by having his Koffing do Self-Destruct first.
    • Also, nearer the start of the episode: "HAIL GIOVANNI! BWAK!"
  • In Episode 29, him using an old man's voice for Pryce.
    • They named the town of Mahogany after my cane!
  • In Episode 35, his Suicune capture.
Chugga: 1... 2... 3... HA HA HA! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I can't believe it! What is it with me and Poké Balls?"
  • In Episode 36, after Clair paralyzes his Pokémon for the umpteenth time:
Chugga: For the love…[of] flavor-blasted goldfish. Would you stop…making me paralyzed?
  • In Episode 37, he uses Suicune, of all Pokémon, as an HM slave for Whirlpool in Dragon's Den. Oh, and he nicknamed it Epic Slave.
  • In Episode 41 (vs. Will), it's Roary against Will's Jynx.
Chugga: (after using Flame Wheel and chanting encouragement) I'll shut up and let it do damage.
(Flame Wheel gets a critical hit, one-shotting Jynx)
Chugga: Maybe I should shut up more often, it apparently gets me critical hits!
  • In Episode 43 (vs. Bruno), Chugga using a fake Austrian accent for Bruno, making him sound like a pseudo-Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Chugga: (As Bruno / Arnold) My next challenge is taking over California! JA!
    • Also, when Bruno sends out Onix, Chugga says that if you have a Water-type, it'll go down in five seconds…and then starts counting while Odairu uses Surf:
Chugga: One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi, four Mississippi, five Mississippi, six Mississippi, seven Mississippi, eight Mississippi, nine Mississippi, te—YOU CAN DIE ANYTIME NOW—(Onix's health runs out) okay, there.
  • In Episode 49 (Kanto Part 3), when he decides to Fly back to Cerulean, he notices that he doesn't have his Hoothoot. So, he resigns himself to walking back to Cerulean…and then he realizes that there is a Pokémon Center right next to him.
Chugga: Geez, I are totally smart, not!
    • Then the apparent non-sequitur showing the beginning of a battle with Hiker Tim. No indication for what point it serves besides being a Shout-Out to NintendoCapriSun.
    • Then there's the accent he gives the foreign Team Rocket member in Cerulean. He tries to go for Italian, but it comes out more as Transylvanian.
  • In Episode 50 (Kanto Part 4)…in the previous episode, he had responded to fans pointing out that "for the sheer fact that" was becoming one of his catchphrases. He denied it, giving a plausible explanation for it. In this episode, when he says "for the sheer fact that", an edited note comes up: "Don't. Say. Anything."
    • In the following episode, he barely manages to cut himself off before he finishes.
  • In Episode 52 (Kanto Part 6), he announces that he's going to call Raikou, Entei, and Suicune the Legendary Hamsters since he and the fans can't agree on a name, though the official name is Legendary Beasts, which he said.
  • In Episode 55 (Kanto Part 9):
Chugga: We're gonna throw a Great Ball for the sheer fact that—don't say anything!—the fact that we do not have…you know…much of anything else.
    • He attempts to solve the Vermillion Gym puzzle to open the gate for about two minutes…then he moves far enough up to show that, lo and behold, there is no gate.
Chugga: (laughing) Oh-ho-ho-ho my God, I am stupid!
  • In Episode 56 (Kanto Part 10), inside Erika's Gym:
Beauty: Were you looking at these flowers, or at me?
Chugga: Fangirl~ Not really, okay. And... oh. (Beauty's trainer sprite appears on screen) Well, I ''was'' looking at the flowers, but I think I'm lookin' at you now...
  • In Episode 60 (Kanto Part 14), his reaction to seeing Blaine's "Gym".
    • "BEST. GYM. EVER!"
    • Then, catching Entei, especially the one time that Entei somehow outspeeds Volvagia. But then from the capture: "I will use one Ultra Ball. My one Ultra Ball WILL catch this thing! The Let's Play curse will not beat me today!" Watch what happens.
