Episode 8 of They Are My Noble Masters focused on a competition between Ren and Kojuro to see who would become Ageha's butler. I was constantly annoyed by the fact that everyone was rooting for Kojuro over Ren, doing things such as making Ren's suitcases in the first part of the match heavier, interfering with people's decisions in the second part, and even openly and loudly supporting Kojuro during the third part. It wasn't until a year and a half later that I realized that everyone was rooting for Ren because if he left the Kuonji household to serve Ageha, the Kuonji household would lose the excitement it had when Ren was working there, which also gives some good backing to the end of episode 8 where everyone was asking Ren to help them around the house. It's strange how an ecchi series jam-packed with Fetish Fuel of all shapes and sizes would be the source of my first bout of Fridge Brilliance.
