Fridge / The Thing That Couldn't Die

  • Fridge Logic: Why'd the Englishmen bother separating Gideon's head and body if the little amulet can kill him?
    • Fridge Brilliance: Perhaps they only wanted to neutralize him, keeping his soul and subsequently his powers from falling into Satan's hands. Or maybe they just really wanted to be dicks to him and give him a Fate Worse than Death.
    • It's possible that the Weaksauce Weakness to holy symbols only came into effect after Gideon was executed- before that, he was an ordinary living human. It was his powers that kept him animated after death.
    • The initial response is correct; the flashback to Gideon's execution clearly showed the religious leader wielding the amulet against Gideon. Further, according to behind-the-scenes material on the MST3k DVD, said religious leader was originally supposed to be Catholic or Protestant or something semi-mainstream but was changed to something nondescript under the idea that a Catholic/Protestant/whatever would be more concerned with rehabilitating Gideon than with cursing him for eternity.
  • Fridge Logic: Why did Boyd, the Obviously Evil ranch hand stop peeping on Jessica before she even got to her bottom layer of clothing? Isn't that the point of peeping?
    • Why does Jessica even have a black dress for her Evil Costume Switch, given that she's worn nothing but white up until then?
  • The real Fridge Logic: Why O why, after casting the curse that would allow the beheaded Gideon to live again should his head and body ever be reunited, why O why did they go and bury his head and body in graves so bloody close to each other? Seriously, the two graves are literally within walking distance of each other. Why wouldn't they have shipped one or the other off to the other side of the continent, or to some island far out to sea, or some other place such that there would be no conceivable possibility of the two rejoining?
