Fridge Brilliance

  • It's easy to assume that Turkish simply figures Tommy's gun won't work because Boris has a reputation for being a sneaky fucking Russian. It's just as likely he saw it was defective when he inspects it at the start of the film and said nothing until time came for the gun to become relevant to the plot.
  • Both Tommy and Franky Four Fingers engage in Reckless Gun Usage when they buy from Boris; Tommy aims right at Gorgeous George, and Franky scratches his temple with the gun barrel. Neither time does Boris show any concern, despite being a professional gun expert...because he knows the guns won't fire.
  • Boris claims that the weight of the revolvers he sells is a sign of their reliability and that he always goes for reliability. When he later executes Frankie Four-Fingers, it's most emphatically not with one of the revolvers he sells, but instead uses a 1911, which foreshadows that Tommy's gun (and possibly Frankie's as well, since Boris set him up to be robbed) is defective.
  • Turkish provides an introductory narration for Boris, Brick Top and Doug. He doesn't provide one for Avi, Bullet-Tooth Tony or Sol and Vinnie. Because he's never met them (see also, Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels).
  • When explaining to Brick Top why Gorgeous George won't be able to fight, Turkish doesn't go into detail beyond "We've lost Gorgeous George". Turkish knows that Brick Top has an irrational hatred of Tommy, so imagine what Brick Top would have done to Tommy if he'd known the whole truth. So by keeping the whole truth from Brick Top, Turkish saved Tommy's life.
  • Not only will Tommy and Turkish profit from the diamond, but their reputation in the underground boxing community is still intact, as thanks to Mickey there is now ample evidence that they don't engage in fixed fights.
  • Brick Top explains that "nemesis is "[a] righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent." Which basically foreshadows the climax where appropriate agent (Mickey and his fellow travellers) inflict some righteous retribution on Brick Top and his lackeys. Walked right into that one, mate.

Fridge Horror

  • Boris the Blade has a brother who told him to steal the diamond from Frankie Four-Fingers. Suppose he finds out about his brother's death and comes to London looking for revenge?
    • He's going to have a hard time finding it considering most of the people involved end up dead, in jail, or in New York.
  • Brick Top seems desperate to placate the two men who confront him about being down money after Mickey wins the fight against Bomber Harris. You have to wonder how dangerous these men are that they make Brick Top scared.
