One of the Guardians in the finale of Spirit's Eye is missing a hand. In the previous game, the severed hand and maimed body of a previous Summoned who'd failed to end the evil are discovered. Did everybody called to the mansion from Servants who didn't succeed become one of the Guardians after their horrible death?
