Fridge / Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes

As this is a Fridge page, spoilers will be left unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

Fridge Brilliance:

  • The killer has scars making it clear he had the spring locks in one of the suits fail, which we know causes the wearer to be impaled by releasing spring locks and the interlocking animatronic machinery. Which raises the question of how he survived to begin with. The two possible choices are that his heavy build (he was much stockier in the past) prevented him from being stabbed deeply enough to die from it, or that he didn't, and his presence is just as supernatural as that of the possessed animatronics and Golden Freddy.
  • The way William Afton behaves when he's finally apprehended for questioning by the main group showcases just how empty and merciless the man is. As Dave Miller, he's a callous bully who abuses his position to do as little work as possible. When he's wearing the Spring Bonnie costume, he's a softspoken, but immovable creature that exudes power even while he's tied up in a corner. But without the disguises, as simply William Afton... he refuses to speak at all. He just stares around the room and smiles, only offering the slightest hints of what he wants or what he thinks through the who or what his eyes land on. Not only is this all we tend to really see of him in the games, with all of his appearances when the novel was written being absent of any dialogue or much animation for him, but it hammers home exactly why he says that he'll escape unharmed because "He's one of them;" He's behaving like an endoskeleton without its suit to tell you, or it, what character it's meant to be. Without a role to play or a disguise to wear, he just shuts down completely and waits for a chance to slip into a new character to avoid exposing himself more than he needs to.

Fridge Logic:

  • How did Charlie never find out that she's a robot? Are you telling me she never injured herself her entire life? Or never had to have a checkup or doctor's appointment?
  • why did the possessed animatronics not see Charlie as a robot, they don't exactly have inner ears for the illusion disk to work on.
