Fridge Brilliance

  • Why is the Cyber-Planner more emotive than the other cyber beings when it takes over the Doctor? It's because his mind and all the information he is holding is driving the thing borderline insane.
  • The Doctor reveals to Mr. Clever that he could simply regenerate to rid himself of the Cyber-Infection, but is hesitant to waste a body doing so. It seems a little bit selfish, considering that sacrificing a 1-Up could potentially prevent Clara, the children, a platoon of innocent soldiers, and the entire universe from falling to the Cybermen. It makes sense when you realize he's bluffing. The Time of the Doctor establishes that both the metacrisis Doctor and the War Doctor are legit incarnations, meaning 11 is actually on his 13th life. He can't regenerate. Note that even though Mr. Clever is reading his mind, there's no sign of the War Doctor in there; Eleven managed to conceal that information in an attempt to intimidate Mr. Clever into thinking it was an option.

Fridge Horror

  • Cybermen can now "Upgrade" non-humans.
  • A thing to consider: The Cyber-Planner got plenty of info on the Doctor before being forced out, so they could send any of that info to storage anywhere they might be dormant that wasn't on the imploded planet. Considering a piece of Cyber tech survived, it is highly likely there is at least one storage spot for the planner and all that information.
  • The Cybermen's Super-Speed is enough to make everyone else seem so slow. If this is the case, and the body type suggests the ability to move in a much more versatile manner, how fast are they when they actually run?
  • The whole reason why the Cybermen set up their secret repair-outpost at an amusement park was because children's brains are more adaptable than those of adults, hence are ideal raw materials for Cyber-systems. So it's very likely that most if not all of the Cybermen which Clara and the soldiers fought in this episode were made from kidnapped children.
