  • Using Assist modifiers (5-Keynote , Auto-Scratch, Legacynote , or any combination thereof) in modern IIDX games will mark the score as an Assist Clear, but will still allow you to record your score. Why? Because while Assist mods will help you clear the song by doing some notes for you, they can only damage your score because they leave you with less notes to score on. Using Auto-Scratch, for instance, is the same thing as not scratching during the song if you're just playing for score—the only difference is how much impact it will have on your Life Meter.
