• One of the reasons Xenia might have had in pushing her father to allow her to marry Wilibald could be her desire to escape the fate that Arabela would later decry in the series: of a princess who is married off to a virtual stranger with no say in the matter. By marrying Wilibald, Xenia kills two birds with one stone: she is first in line to become queen, and gets to choose her own spouse.
