Fridge Horror:

  • In Hex, the climax doesn't really make much sense until you take in some facts to accord. First off, in the video, the Earl also took the fallen branch from the oak tree, locked it up in his secret vault, and pulled off a bunch of scientific experiments to try and break the curse. Second, the Vault was left locked for 2 centuries, and was only opened in the 21st century. The appearance of the demonic, possibly sentient tree roots that also have EYES imply that, for all the experiments the Earl did to try and break the curse, he created another cursed tree from the branch. Oh, and where is it growing? Right on the floor. All this time, the audience has been moving on top of a giant root monster.
  • There's a brief scene in the Viral Marketing videos for The Smiler that, whilst initially unnerving, becomes a whole lot scarier when you take some facts into accord. In the scene, the two (ill-fated) protagonists are visiting the home of Miles Cedar, who has written a book called "Smile, Always" and who is working for The Ministry of Joy and see a group of people undergoing "therapy". The song they are humming? "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" AKA the theme music for the entire goddamned park. This, combined with the Retcon that the other rides in the X-Sector (Oblivion and Enterprise) were made by the Ministry of Joy, leads to an unsettling reveal... the entire park may very well be a front for The Ministry of Joy.
