Film: The Gals Of Galaday
|
The Gals of Galaday is a world created by SandJosieph. It has been in the making for quite some time and has yet to be produced for real. The main story line follows the exploits of seprentine gal Kathirynn Sandlot. In this bizarre world, all she wants to be is normal, although in this case normal means having some super power. She eventually gets a super power when she becomes possessed by a demon that grants her the ability to cause things to age and decay at an accelerated rate. Unfortunately, her demonic power can only be used if she let's her demon take control and her demon's goal is to destroy everything, something Kat's not too keen about. Has a Character Sheet: TheGaladiansExamples- Action Girl: Let's just say allot but some more notable ones are Kathirynn Sandlot, Trigger Happy, Electra Zappa, and Blair Gothika.
- Absurdly Spacious Sewer: Played straight and subverted as Sewer Sally's sewer job takes her many places.
- All Girls Want Bad Boys: Played with in that Kat dates Lucas, who has a bad boy image while actually being fairly nice, if slightly irritable. It also probably helps that he flies a Cool Plane and has a bomber jacket.
Kat: There's a difference between being Badass and being Bad. - It should also be noted that there are actually a lack of bad boys due to the fact that there are more bad girls on Galaday.
- All Guys Want Cheerleaders: Also played with in that more attractive girls aren't cheerleaders to begin with, but still get most of the attention.
- Artificial Limbs: After her demon takes over for the first time, Kat receives replacement limbs for her right hand and left foot.
- Author Appeal: Where to begin...
- Author Avatar: Josieph Sandlot is based on...guess who.
- Badass Normal: It's Back To Back Baddasses in World of Ham.
- Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Averted with Kat's Magical Girl transformations as it turns her into outright High Octane Nightmare Fuel.
- Bifauxnen: Junior, Electra's assistant.
- Blessed with Suck: Kat barely has control over her demonic powers when she goes Magical Girl. Worst part is that she has to find uses for her powers lest her demon starts attacking her own body.
- Combat Sadomasochist: Kat becomes this whenever her demon takes control. Played with in that any injuries she receives during her possession will cause her great pain when she regains control.
- Complete Monster: Kat, when under control of her demon, can do some pretty heinous things to both her friends and enemies.
- Cool Ship: The S.O.S. Sinker and the C.H. Catastrophe.
- Demonic Possession: How Kat changes to her Magical Girl form, which she barely has control over.
- Every Girl Is Cuter with Hair Decs: Kat usually wears an oversized hairbow.
- Fair Cop: Played with in Officer Victoria.
- Fanservice: Surprisingly, not allot given the premise of the story. Not that there isn't any, it's just subtle and incidental.
- Five-Man Band: The Happy/Zappa Clan
- Gender Blender Name: Junior, Jonathynn, Jackson, Joe, etc.
- Ghost Pirate: Captain Tiller and his crew of ghostly animated furniture fit this to a "T".
- Grandma, What Massive Hotness You Have: Kat's grandmother, Jonathynn, is quite the looker at the ripe old age of 325.
- Hello Nurse: Spoofed with Mary Medic.
- Hot Chick in a Badass Suit: Mrs. McArthur, Headmistress of Birch Creek University. Complete with glasses.
- Hot Shonen Mom: Kat's mother, Trinity, definitely falls under this.
- I'm Having Soul Pains: Kat undergoes this during her first few transformations but it subsides as she gains more control over herself.
- Fantasy Kitchen Sink
- Fiery Red Head: Taken Up to Eleven with Ember Blazon who can also breath fire.
- Real Women Never Wear Dresses: Averted as many of the girls will wear dresses if they feel like it.
- Large Ham: About half the cast, although Electra takes the cake whenever she goes Mad Scientist.
- Les Yay: Between Electra and her assistant, Junior.
- Loads and Loads of Characters: Yep.
- Magical Girl: Even though Kat's powers are fairly dark and malevolent, she does her best to use those powers to benefit those around her. In an interesting twist, local Dark Magical Girl, Blair Gothika, is not her rival.
- Meganekko: Quite a few in Kathirynn, Trinity, Mrs. McArthur, and Jonathynn.
- Most Common Super Power: Kat has a fairly impressive bustline, but not as impressive as her mother.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Kat's reaction when she's found out she has injured some of her closest friends during her first demonic take over.
- Perky Goth: Terrence Gothika is quite happy with his lot in life, his sister Blair, not so much.
- Pettanko: Junior and Little Maggie are this. Played with, though, as this isn't really an issue for either of them.
- Princess Curls: Princess Clare sports these, even when she's in hiding.
- Refuge in Audacity: Electra, full stop. At one point, after Kat loses her hand, Electra registers her into a military database using her breast print. Kat is not too happy with it.
- Running Gag: The number 325 appears quite often.
- Shout Out: To TV Tropes in the form of various things like a black cat with bad luck, a rather hammy keyboard, a Team Mom named Kara, a man with an iron eye, a rather good looking grandmother Jonathynn, and others to be named!
- Slasher Smile: Almost all the characters sport one at some point.
- Small Girl, Big Gun: A mild example with Trigger as her shotgun is only slightly larger than most.
- Snarky Nonhuman Sidekick: Despite not saying anything, the squids of Galaday can have some fairly sarcastic expressions.
- Street Urchin: Little Maggie, who makes living on the streets a fine art.
- Super Powered Evil Side: This is what is unleashed whenever Kat goes Magical Girl during fights.
- Troperiffic: To the extent that many of the characters will spout out various memes if given the chance (Josieph Sandlot is especially prone to this as he's the resident "Meme Spewer").
- Urban Fantasy: The setting is a fairly modern one.
- White-Haired Pretty Girl: Kathirynn and her mother, Trinity, sport snow white hair.
- Wrench Wench: Sewer Sally, Birch Creek's resident Sewer Queen. Electra Zappa can sometimes fall into this category as well.
