* AdaptationalHeroism: Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, although still morally complex, are portrayed as more heroic and altruistic than their real-life counterparts, ''especially'' Dre[[note]]who is most infamously known for being a woman beater[[/note]]. This was mainly due to Ice Cube and Dre themselves being a part of the production crew; hence, they would want to remove or at least tone down their biggest misdeeds for the motion picture.

This proves to be a poor decision on their part as Cube, furious that they dissed him after he went out of his way not to do so with his solo music, writes and releases "No Vaseline".

** This also applies to Ice Cube, but to a slightly lesser degree than Knight. ** MC Ren's own falling out with Eazy was also not depicted in the film. The film depicted them as still fairly close after Ice Cube and Dre left; in reality, Ren (while not giving specifics) admitted he got sick of Eazy's attitude sometime after Dre's ''The Chronic'' came out and the two never spoke to each other again until mere months before Eazy's death.
