Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension is a Made For Tv Movie based off of Disney's Phineas and Ferb, and the fourth Made-For-TV Movie based on an animated Disney Channel Original Series. It premiered on August 5th, 2011.When Phineas, Ferb, and Perry follow Dr. Doofenshmirtz through his "Otherdimensionator", they find themselves in an alternate universe where a second, truly evil Doof rules over his Tri-state Area with an army of iron-fisted robots. To save his friends from certain doom, Perry makes the ultimate sacrifice by revealing his secret identity as Agent P. Phineas and Ferb escape, meet their 2nd dimension selves, and begin their own mission to rescue Perry. So begins an epic battle as our heroes try to save their home from the clutches of Evil Dr. Doof and his sidekick Platyborg. Will Evil Doof succeed and achieve dual world domination? Will Candace finally bust her brothers? Hell if we know (though do we do know how that last one will turn out), but watch it to find out.A video game adaption was released August 2nd, as well as a soundtrack.

3-D Movie: Parodied, with the full title: "Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension In Fabulous 2D".
Mentioned again towards the end of the movie when Doof-2 tells the others that he hopes they have their glasses on.
Lawrence and Linda never see what's happening in Danville due to being engrossed in one of these the whole time.
Action Girl: The alternate versions of Isabella and the Fireside girls, more so than their normal counterparts. Candace-2 is more a Lady of War. One only needs to see Candace-2's first encounter with the Norm-bots for proof.
Adult Fear: Doof-2's little dystopian government. Kids are likely not to take things like Linda hiding in the basement and the Norm-bots asking for documents very serious. Towards the end, it gets worse with the whole Boy-borg thing.
Adults Are Useless: The members of La Résistance and everyone in the final showdown are all kids (excluding OWCA agents...who are all animals). The adults only seem to be good for getting subjugated, with the alternate universe mom even spending most of the movie hiding in the basement.
In fairness though, this is Phineas and Ferb. A sequence like that simply wouldn't work without a musical number, and Love Handel were pretty much the best guys for the job (and Danny does get a robot kill to his name in a deleted scene, with his bare hands, no less).
Candace's Genre Savvy plan to ensure victory for the heroes does involve adult participation, but that's more "making use of" adults than adults actively being useful.
And Show It To You: In the extended version of "Robot Riot", the lyrics talk about ripping out the robot's CPU and showing it to them while it's still processing. In a deleted scene, Danny actually does this to a robot that gets too close while he's singing that very line.
Animation Bump: The character animation during the whole scene with the Goozim is very squash-and-stretch and unusually fluid.
Also, the entire movie has noticeably better animation than the show, though this was to be expected.
As You Know: As a reminder to everyone watching, Monogram reminds Perry at the beginning of the movie that if his cover is blown, he would be relocated and Phineas and Ferb would never see him again. And as expected, it is brought back up at the end.
Also said word for word by Monogram when telling Perry of the camera used to study and replicate Doof's inventions. Again, it's brought back when it's shown Perry's been replicating Phineas and Ferb's inventions as well.
Authority Equals Asskicking: Definitely played straight with Candace-2's resistance. Averted with Doof-2's army, except by Platyborg.
Autobots, Rock Out!: Justified by Phineas asking Love Handel to provide the music for the epic battle.
Badass Adorable: Alternate Isabella and the Fireside Girls anyone?
The Alternate Fireside Girls for sure. Case in-point: when Phineas, Ferb, Buford-2, Phineas-2 and Ferb-2 fall through the hidden trapdoor, the Alternate Fireside Girls drop in on them and tie them up in under 5 seconds. With little effort no less!
Plus, their one fluid untieing somehow got the boys into a human pyramid, which then promptly collapsed.
Badass in Distress: Candace-2 becomes one when she gets captured by Doof-2 while saving the first dimension counterparts of her brothers and their friends.
Being Unable To Communicate Kills: Phineas probably would have gone a lot easier on Perry had he known that finding out Perry's secret identity also meant never being able to see him again. It was in the pamphlet Perry gave him, though... which Phineas threw out. Actually, it says something that Phineas forgave him long before finding out that Perry had a damn good reason to keep it from him.
Almost to the point of Deconstruction, seeing as how she was willing to let the alternate versions of her family be captured in order to protect her own. In her defense, though, she did come back for them, once her own brothers had been escorted to safety.
Big Damn Heroes: Jeremy-2, and Phineas and Ferb-2 "busting" Candace-2 out.
Candace-2 rescuing Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Perry, and Doofenshirtz.
Perry coming to the aid of his fellow agents, closely followed by Phineas rescuing him. Then followed by all of the other kids in Phineas and Ferb's old inventions coming to their aid.
At the very, very end, Dr. D, though in a rather unconventional manner.
Subverted by Ferb during the final battle. It's set up so that it looks like he's going to pull this for Phineas and Perry, but the main bulk of the fight is done by the time he arrives.
Similarly, all the second dimension Resistance members get to do at the end is formally arrest Doof-2.
Early on we have Buford-2 saving both dimension Phineases and Ferbs from a Normbot.
Bittersweet Ending: The movie ends with everyone getting the memory of their greatest adventure ever erased from their minds because they found out about Perry's secret identity. It even comes with a touching moment between Phineas and Perry.
Breaking the Fourth Wall: During the Villain Song, they specifically mention that Lorenzo Lamas played Meap. Also, in the 3D game based on the movie, when the last level is completed, Doof-2 claims the player will pay for defeating him if they make a sequel.
Brick Joke: At the beginning of the movie, Perry pees on Doofenshmirtz's couch in a desperate attempt to distract Phineas and Ferb from helping him with his plan. At the climax of the movie, when Phineas is confronting Doof-2, he chucks the soaked cushion in his face, with Doof-2 disgustedly wondering what's on it.
At the beginning of the movie Phineas and Ferb, after catching popcorn in their mouths, chuck some at Perry hoping he'll do the same. They just bounce right off his head. Perry then catches some popcorn in his mouth at the end of the movie, after defeating the Platyborg.
The couch pee gets another callback earlier in the movie when Doofenshmirtz suddenly realizes that it was a conscious decision on Perry's part.
Right after his reveal as a secret agent to the boys, Perry hands Phineas a pamphlet made just for this situation, which Phineas rolls his eyes at and throws away. Later, when Major Monogram explains that Perry must now go away because of his blown cover, everyone is surprised and confused, to which the Major asks if...they read the pamphlet.
Major: Does anyone read those things?
Also when Phineas is trying to explain the situation to Candace, and when she fails to comprehend the situation, he says that he wishes that he had never thrown the pamphlet away.
Buford-2 eventually gets his nachos.
Call Back: The remote-controlled baseballs are heavily relied upon as weapons - exactly what Candace used them for in "Chronicles of Meap". For that matter, a lot of Phineas and Ferb's creations are used in the battle. A lot of their inventions were recreated and stored by Perry, just in case a situation as bad as that occurred.
Carl's Latex Perfection disguise from "You Scream, I Scream" makes a return.
In "Kick It Up a Notch", there's a likely call back to Doofenshmirtz's Least Rhymable Word moment in "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?", with Doof-2 actually managing to come up with some rhymes for "evil" in his verse.
Candace's reveal as the leader of La Résistance included a reference to her parsnip allergy, complete with raspy voice.
Doof-2 checks whether our Doof is really his counterpart by offering him Almond Brittle.
Poke the Goozim with a stick!
Monogram is only sweating through his eyes! We're reasonably sure a lost goldfish is not involved, though.
Doof-1 rattles off a list of his backstories—all from previous episodes—when he finds out that Doof-2 is eviler than him simply because he lost his toy train.
Doof-2's Beard of Evil may be a nod to "Crack the Whip!", specifically Doof-1's inability to grow facial hair, in pointing out that Doof-2 shares none of his counterpart's Freudian Excuses.
May overlap with Brick Joke; after Phineas & Ferb watch Candace-2 take out the Norm-Bots Phineas asks Candace "can you do that?"
Candace: Well apparently.
Then later Phineas-2 & Ferb-2 watch their normal counterparts use a Norm-Bot arm to destroy the others.
Remember the bonehead Norm-Bot with the boney bullhead? Think back to the chariot-race episode, where Norm was introduced. At the end, he got a minotaur helmet on his own head.
A very small one, but Ferb carrying a handkerchief that he offers to those who need it, first seen in "Summer Belongs to You". Ferb-2 does this as well.
In the ride between Doof-2's 'indentured executive assistant' and Doof-2 himself, there are reminders of some of Doof-1's freudian excuses.

One dimension is populated with giant floating baby heads. Apparently, the one that appears in several other episodes comes from there.
In another episode, the Monster-Truck-Awayinator sends things to another dimension with an alien baby. The gang passes through it.
On a subway train, a zebra looks up at Candace as if he recognizes her, while holding a newspaper with the headline "Kevin Elected President". In the paper's photo, "Kevin" looks like Candace.
The Cameo: Agent T, the orange turtle agent near the end of the movie, technically debuts in the game. The creators liked him so much they gave him a cameo in the movie.
Chekhov's Armory: Everything from Perry's wrist communicator to nearly all of Phineas and Ferb's previous projects come into play in this movie.
Basically the entire first half of the movie sees payoffs in the second half. Have these guys been comparing notes with Edgar Wright?
Chekhov's Army: The army of inventions by Phineas and Ferb.
Perry's reflex when getting his neck scratched, which his counterpart shares.

The ball shooter from the Chronicles of Meap strikes again as an important item. It is used to destroy robots, and also winds up destroying the robot army because it takes out a transmitter that controls them.
The spots equipment that goes flying when Platyborg punches Perry into a cabinet.
The skull belonging to the weird animal skeleton in Doof-2's office.
Chekhov's Hobby: Phineas and Ferbs hobby of creating inventions, of course.
Clark Kenting: When Phineas and Ferb told Doof-1 their pet platypus' name was Perry, he simply thought it was another platypus named Perry. Seeing Perry stopping Platyborg from attacking Phineas and Ferb wasn't enough to make him connect the dots. Doof-1 still had to see Perry putting on the hat. Doof-2 couldn't believe the clues both Doofs saw weren't enough for Doof-1 without the hat.
Doof-2 hangs a lampshade on this by forcing Doof-1 to sit and look at pictures of Perry with and without his hat. "A platypus." "Gasp! Perry the Platypus!"
Cloud Cuckoolander: The Norm-bots (when in Norm-mode), manage to even outshine the original Norm in terms of this, most like because they have it balanced out with their completely serious mode.
The "OWCA HQ" seen at nearly the end of the movie. It's also complete with "Pay no attention to this sign".
Continuity Porn: Up to Eleven. Expect to see many references to events in the show. In the film's climax, almost all of the inventions made by the boys throughout the show are used to fight off Doof-2's army.
Convection Schmonvection: The entire sequence and escape where Phineas-1, Ferb-1, Candace-1, Perry the Platypus and Doofenshmirtz-1 are being 'doomed', which is over a pit of lava.
Possibly subverted by the fact that the scene takes place in an alternate dimension. Convection may very well not exist there.
It's almost confirmed. When the Norm-bots fall in, they just kind of...sink, instead of melting or bursting into flames.
Makes sense considering physics don't really seem to exist in the first dimension.
Crazy-Prepared: The tow truck driver, who has attachments to tow anything.
For that matter, Perry analyzing and storing all of Phineas and Ferb's previous projects just in case they ever needed them in a situation.
Both Doofs' collect coins in case vending machine take over.
And Doof-2 has a bowl of rice pudding on hand... just in case an alternate version of himself shows up.
One of the gadgets presented to Perry, a souped-up harpoon, is only for if he's attacked by the royals or a member of Parliament. Carl even admits he probably won't need it (and he's right; it ends up being the only gadget not used).
Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Who are the ones in the Beak suit sissy slapping dozens of Normbots out of the sky? Baljeet and Irving. Irving is implied to have taken out numerous Normbots on his own later in the battle as well.
Curb-Stomp Battle: The heroes easily take out Normbots as long as they are wielding weapons and aren't too heavily outnumbered. It's when Platyborg joins the fight (or if there are simply too many Normbots) that things become a problem.
However, even with the advantage of surprise, all of the local O.W.C.A. agents (minus Perry) working together quickly fall to the Normbots.
Not to mention the scene where Doof-2 orders Perry the Platyborg to attack Perry, who continues to play dumb. Then he orders the Platyborg to attack Phineas and Ferb, knowing Perrywouldn't let him.
Dark and Troubled Past: Humorously subverted with Doof-2, who only became evil because he lost his toy train as a child. Our Doof (who - among other things - was forced to work as a lawn gnome and is The Unfavorite to his parents) is stunned by this.
Dark Reprise: Sort of. When Perry the Platyborg is first revealed, a darker, more evil-sounding version of the Perry the Platypus theme can be heard in the background. It's used as Platyborg's Leitmotif for the rest of the film.
Deadly Dodging: Perry manages one heck of a display of this when rescuing his fellow agents from the Norm-bots.
How Phineas finds out about the transmitter Doof-2 uses to control his Norm-bots.
Didn't Think This Through: Doof-2 should've mass produced more robots instead of bringing the ones that were controlling his universe into the other.
Also, Phineas and Ferb's attempt at rescuing Perry from the two Doofenshmirtzes.
Then there's when Doofenshmirtz asks Candace to unlock his chains. While he's hanging over lava. She's quick to point out the flaw.
Disney Acid Sequence : A brand new reality eventually fades into this. It is a Disney movie after all.
Doomy Dooms of Doom: Parodied when Doof-2 points to all his prisoners individually while flippantly saying "Doom" over and over again. And when Doof-1 gets a "Doom" from a sock pocket.
According to Doof-1, apparently that's the second time that's happened to him.
Doofenshmirtz-2: You know, my crimes against humanity had just completely slipped my mind.
Egopolis: The alternate Tri-State Area has pretty much everything named after Doof (Dooferalls, Doofopoly, Doofensday etc). Although there is a building called Vanessa Plaza.
Enemy Mine: Doof pretty much has to team up with Perry (and his owners) near the end.
Eureka Moment: An unfortunate instance where Phineas accidentally reminds Doof-1 of what he did to get the Other Dimension-inator to work.
Evil Counterpart: Doofenshmirtz, obviously. Though that would probably count as an Eviler Counterpart. He's also an Evil Counterpart to Phineas, as shown in the final battle.
Agent P's 2nd Dimension counterpart Perry the Platyborg counts too since he also works for Dr. Doofenshmirtz-2.
Evil Is Petty: Taken Up to Eleven by Doof-2. While Doof-1 has come up with some admittedly petty schemes before (for equally petty reasons), they have nothing on staging a full robot takeover of Danville just because he lost a toy train.
Five-Man Band: The main cast start to form some semblance of this towards the end of the movie, but it doesn't last long enough for it to fully manifest or for all the roles to be distributed clearly among the characters. We have Phineas as The Hero, Perry as The Lancer, Ferb as The Smart Guy, Candace as The Chick, and Doofenshmirtz as The Big Guy.
From what we get to see of it, the second dimension resistance appear to form one.
Foot Focus: There's a good shot of Ferb's feet during "Summer (Where Do We Begin)".
Foot Popping: Done by Isabella when she kisses Phineas near the end of the movie.
Forceful Kiss: Isabella gives Phineas a short one at the end when their memories are about to be wiped.
Foreshadowing: Phineas mentions at the beginning of the movie that Perry seems to have missed all the stuff Phineas and Ferb have been doing all summer. The fact that Perry's hat had scanned a great deal of the inventions that the two brothers had made shows that no, no he hadn't.
For Want of a Nail: The alternate universe branched off from the mainstream one when Doofenshmirtz didn't get a Hilariously Abusive Childhood, and only got one Freudian Excuse that the main Doof didn't have, allowing Doof-2 to become eviler and competent.
Freudian Excuse: Doofenshmirtz-2 went evil(er) because his toy train when missing. Doofshmirtz-1 deconstructs this, pointing out that it's a ridiculous excuse for his behavior, especially when Doof-1 has far more excuses and isn't as evil.
Doofenshmirtz-2 was already wearing the eye-patch back when he lost the toy train but he never uses the lost eye as a Freudian Excuse.
Genre Savvy: Doof-1 has a moment of this when he realizes his Otherdimensioninator doesn't need a self-destruct button.
Heroic Sacrifice: Phineas, Ferb, and their friends willing give up remembering the greatest adventure of their lives in order for Perry to stay. Shows just how much they care about that platypus.
Hoist By Their Own Petard: Platyborg. Being partly machine gives him some advantages in fighting first dimension Perry. It's also why he ultimately loses.
Hope Spot: When the first dimension characters are chained and sentenced to doom, they actually manage to grab the keys, take out all the Normbots present, and shut the goozim's cage. Then the cage door falls.
Also when Phineas, Ferb, and Perry are being pursued by Platyborg. A Normbot looks like it's about to fall on Platyborg, but it misses. Then subverted when he gets hit by a bus instead.
Horrible Judge of Character: An unfortunate side-effect of Phineas and Ferb's eternal optimism, it seems. They completely fail to realize that either of the two Doofenshmirtz's are evil until they're flat-out told.
It can be argued that it is subverted in the case of how they judged Doof-1 and he was always nice and polite to them.
Even though they've dodged adults early and often during the summer, it's a safe bet that they've never encountered one who was willing to hurt them just to expose Perry.
The same can be said of Phineas thinking Perry keeping his spy life a secret was because he didn't care about the family. If only he read that pamphlet.
Which is a stealth reference to another, earlier episode in which Candace wonders how Buford's number got in the contacts list of her cellphone.
How We Got Here: The movie starts off with Phineas, Ferb, Perry, Candace and Doof about to be executed, with Phineas thinking back to how the day started. Lampshaded once the story catches back up to that scene, when Phineas skips over most of his dialogue the audience already heard.
Ferb: Whoa. Deja vu-ish.
Implacable Platypus: Platyborg. Nothing he gets hit with slows him down for long. Until Perry electrocutes him at the end, removing his evil.
In the same scene, they use one of the Normbots' arms as a bazooka.
Several in the fight between Phineas and Doof-2. Including couch cushions, plates, a bowl of noodles, and a lamp.
Technically, all of Phineas and Ferb's inventions used in the final battle, considering none of them were created with the intent of using them as weapons, even the Beak suit.
Abnormal Ammo: Comes in hand in hand with the above, with frozen yogurt, levitating remote-controlled baseballs, fruit, and Christmas presents being used to take out the Norm-bots.
"Man, I wish other-dimension Candace was here. She took out like, 30 of them with a giant garden gnome."
Informed Attribute: In spite of numerous references to it, we never see Buford-2 really "resisting the Resistance", perhaps mirroring Buford-1's (also mostly Informed) status as a bully. He willingly helps Phineas and Ferb locate the Resistance for help, and even accompanies the bona fide Resistance members on their missions.
Insistent Terminology: When Doof-1 calls Major-2 his slave, he says he prefers 'indentured executive assistant'. Doof-2 is shown as using the latter term.
Also Major Monogram stating he was sweating through his eyes instead of crying. Buford had previously used that term in the series.
Vanessa: You're not normal, Dad. Heinz: Oh, why thank you Vanessa, you're so sweet! See what I did there? Even though I knew you meant it as an insult, I took it as a compliment. Maddening, isn't it?
Invulnerable Knuckles: An aversion played for an Ironic Echo. During the climactic battle between Perry and Platyborg, Perry injures his hand punching Platyborg's armor-plated head and has to shake it off. Later, Perry dons football padding, and when Platyborg tries to punch him in the helmet with his organic hand, it shakes off the injury in exactly the same way.
Hypocritical Humour: Stacy is a women of science-at least, that's what her horoscope said.
Karma Houdini: Played with. At first it seems that Second Dimension Doofenshmirtz would get off free after getting his toy train back and becoming good, but then he walks through the portal, and is promptly arrested by the Second Dimension Resistance.
Doofenshmirtz: I couldn't help but notice that your scar goes over your eyepatch...
As they approach the DEI building, Phineas mentions they're going to hit that building that looks vaguely like Ferb's head.
Major Monogram: Remember, if your cover is blown, you'll have to leave the boys forever. Doofenshmirtz: Does... does anybody hear someone talking?
Laser-Guided Amnesia: The main cast willingly decides to forget what they have dubbed the greatest day of their lives so that Perry won't have to leave them all. *sniff*
A literally case too, as they accomplish this by being shot by the Amnesianator.
Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Doof-1 finishes his duet Villain Song with Doof-2 with "Coming at you Fridays!", possibly referring to the premiere night of the movie as well as when new episodes of the series usually premiere.
In the climactic battle, the Phinedroids and Ferbots are used as these.

Mood Whiplash: After the cheerful and uplifting "Summer" song, we immediately cut to Perry being asked to turn himself in to save his owners. Made worse when Phineas notices and chews him out for it again, and "I Walk Away" plays... then Ferb makes a funny comment.
The Multiverse: Though it's given some unique rules. First, it's not infinite, and you can travel through all of the universes one-by-one in a few minutes. Second, the universes are positioned in a clockwise formation, and it's a lot easier to travel that way, though this has the drawback of having you go through the entire multiverse to get back where you started. Going counterclockwise can be done, but it's very difficult.
Mundane Utility: When Doof-1 first gets the Other Dimension-inator working, his first idea of what to do with it is... to replace his old, worn-out, urine-stained couch with the much nicer one that occupies the same spot in the alternate dimension.
Name's the Same: Invokedin-universe. When Phineas and Ferb introduce their pet to Doofenshmirtz, he simply believes that there just happen to be two platypi in the Tri-State Area named Perry.
Doofenshmirtz: Is every platypus named Perry? Phineas: In a perfect world, yes!
The Agent T that appears in this movie and the game based on it has a different color scheme from the Easter Island-dwelling one from "Candace: Disconnected".
Never Trust a Trailer: The scene of one of the treehouse robots pulling a King Kong chest pound on top of a skyscraper? Never happens (except in a deleted scene).
Other trailers make it seem like the battle is to keep Perry, or that their Candace leads La Résistance.
New Neighbors As The Plot Demands: Despite Doof claiming that Mrs. Thompson has been his neighbor "for like, 12 years" she's never been seen before this.
No Plans, No Prototype, No Backup: Subverted. It's revealed that part of Perry's job is to photograph all of Doof's inventions so that the OWCA can rebuild and study them. Perry's secretly done the same for Phineas and Ferb's inventions, and keeps them hidden in his lair in case of an emergency.
Non-Action Guy: Baljeet-2, even more noticeably than Baljeet-1. He isn't shown to accompany the other Resistance members on missions, for instance.
Noodle Incident: The first time Doof-1 was sentenced to doom by a puppet.
Doof-1's Amnesia-inator.
When the tour bus for Love Handel is shot and toppled over by the invading robot army from another dimension, Danny looks around and says, "Ah great. Albuquerque '93 all over again."
Not so Different: The two Doofs, despite the latter being Eviler than Thou. The first thing they do is sing about how similar they are.
Not So Stoic: Perry gets a great moment of this at the movie's climax when Platyborg gets a roast turkey stuck to his tail, and is unable to reach it to get it off.
When Candace-2 is rescued from prison, hints of our Candace's Jeremy infatuation begin to surface.
It's brief, but Ferb does shed a Single Tear when Phineas-2 thinks he's reuniting with Perry.
He is also just as scared as everyone else when running through the dimensions (well, at least the first one) and screams when nearly getting thrown into a pit of lava.
Opening Shout-Out: The continent-painting helicopter and the giant robot dog (the latter of which only appeared in an episode as part of another Opening Shout-Out) help fight off the Norm-bots alongside other inventions in the climatic fight scene.
The Summer song takes some lyrics from the show's opening song. In fact, the "painting a continent" line uses the same animated sequence.
Overprotective Dad: A deleted scene shows that Doof-2 is even worse than Doof-1 in this regard, using his power to banish any boy who shows an interest in his daughter.
Papa Wolf: Perry doesn't even break his masquerade when the Platyborg punches him clear across the room. When that same robot moves to do the same to Phineas and Ferb, he immediately jumps up and punches him just as hard.
Parrot Exposition: Candace does this when Stacy tells her that as an adult, she doesn't need her mom to bust her brothers. Stacy Lampshades this.
Police State: The Tri-State area under Doof-2's rule is tightly controlled via killer robots. They like to go around and ask for people's papers.
Portal Shave: The Goozim passes through the portal and ends up being cylindrical.
Reset Button: Phineas and Ferb meet Dr. Doofenshmirtz for the first time! They find out Perry is a secret agent! So do Candace and the rest of the neighborhood (except Mom and Dad)! Isabella kisses Phineas! They...lose all their memories of this day, so the movie has no impact on the show whatsoever.
Though Isabella didn't kiss Phineas until she knew the Reset Button was about to be pushed anyway.
R-Rated Opening: The very opening of the movie, before "Everything's Better with Perry", clearly demonstrates that this movie will be Darker and Edgier than the show.
Self-Destruct Mechanism: Thoroughly mocked, even more than usual. As it turns out, Doof-1's design for the Other-Dimension-inator didn't work specifically because of how he wired in the self-destruct button. When Phineas asks him whether he actually needed it, Doofenshmirtz starts to answer before slowly realizing that he doesn't. This is also apparently why Doof-1's attempt at a robot army didn't fare as well as Doof-2's (specifically, a rather unfortunate choice of placement for it). Though it turned out that Doof-2 installed these in his robot army after all.
The woman running away with the watermelon is also a reference to BuckarooBanzai's "why is there a watermelon there?" scene.
The villain song in which Doof-1 and 2 are wearing pink outfits and working a conveyor is an homage to a classic episode of I Love Lucy. Another part of it has them as Laurel and Hardy and yet another as Sherlock Holmes and Watson.
Sir Not Appearing In This Movie: Olivia Olson is listed in the credits as Vanessa, but she (and her alternate counterpart) only appear in deleted scenes.
Time Stands Still: The alarm clock goes off at 7:00 am. The boys go through an extend montage for "Better with Perry", including making popcorn and the clock is still at 7:00 am.
Trailers Always Spoil: The topiary gag would have worked a lot better if the trailers didn't already tell you that Candace was the leader of the Resistance.
Fans also knew right from the start that Phineas and Ferb's old inventions would be making a comeback. Didn't stop it from being awesome, though.
Un-Confession: Phineas's love interest, Isabella, kisses him just seconds before their memories are erased.
Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Doofenshmirtz doesn't think that much of the fact that Phineas and Ferb randomly flew in on a giant shuttlecock; well, other than the fact that it resulted in the destruction of his -inator.
Unwilling Roboticisation: Doofenshmirtz-2 had inflicted this on Perry-2 long before the events of the movie, and he intends to do the same thing to our Perry and Phineas at the movie's climax.
Villains Never Lie: Granted, when Doof-2 promised to spare Phineas and Ferb if Perry turned himself in, he didn't realize that he needed Phineas's help until after Perry took him up on it. He's not exactly apologetic about the situation, though.
Also, Doof-2 explaining to Phineas and Ferb that Perry only saw them as a cover for his job as a secret agent and didn't actually care about them. Then again, he may or may not have genuinely believed this to be true.
Was It All a Lie?: That's how Phineas feels when they find out Perry's a secret agent and that's why he's upset with Perry. Again, he gets over it rather quickly, but at that moment, he felt that all these years, his friendship with Perry was a lie.
What Measure Is a Non-Human?: No one raises the moral objections of trashing the Norm Bots even though they show signs that they have emotions. One even says "I use aggression to mask my insecurities". Also, when a group of them are confronted by Ferb with the robot bulls, one of them pushes another out of the way trying to escape, meaning that they have self-preservation and fear death.
On the other hand, they're an invading army, so the heroes aren't exactly given time to weigh the philosophical conundrum.
What the Hell, Hero?: ...And Phineas is actually pretty upset when they first find out, even if they do get over it by the second act.
X Meets Y: The basic plot of this movie is the usual Phineas and Ferb A-Plot coming into contact with the Agent P B-Plot... WAAAAAAAY earlier than it should.
You Will Know What To Do: Said by Perry's computer when the boys find their way into his hideout.
