Do warn when a fanfic may head into non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.
knives4cash is a pleasure to read when it comes to one-shot shipping and friendship for the White Rose and Bumblebee pairings. With over forty works on the shelf with his series "Pollination: The Bumblebee and White Rose," you'll be laughing and smiling for a good while, and the occasional references, crossovers, and alternate history writing make the experience even better.
As above, a writer who focuses on one-shots of Romance and friendship. Top quality work, though her fics "Roses" (about Ruby and Weiss' Dust-born child) and Transiency (Not gonna spoil), received criticism for being too sad.
Sypnosis: Fanfiction where the author expands on the current canon by adding scenes not shown in Volume 1 to flesh out the world and story. Semi-AU, as it uses O Cs and much of the author's own interpretation of dust and aura. Author updates once a week.
Tags: Rated T for language, and violence. Set in the canon universe, but can change if future canon conflicts with author's plan.
Synopsis: Inspired by the infamous Blood Rose, <Rage, Weep, Bleed, Yird> examines what would RWBY be like if all four members of Team RWBY had to face their inner psychosis. Be very, very afraid. Author plans to write a thousand words a day.
Synopsis: A semi-AU world focusing on a half-crippled Jaune as he tries to navigate the dangerous power politics of Vale and survive his time at Beacon. Alternates between a series of historical logs written by Jaune himself as a documentary and the mental recordings of various members of the RWBY-verse.
Tags: Rated T, still nominally set in the RWBY-verse, but with a massively extended background.
Synopsis: Jaune Arc becomes a villain and starts working for Roman Torchwick and Cinder. Written mostly in the first person, with third person shifts to focus on other characters and events. Tags: Character death and mentions of blood.
Synopsis: AU where the cast of RWBY live in a pastoral village community. Ruby spends her days as a Huntress, hunting wild game to support herself and her older sister Yang, a local blacksmith. Time period is set in medieval times in the Kingdom of Vale, right before the discovery of dust. Adventure and eventual romance with multiple pairs. Contains blood, violence, language, and sensuality.
Synopsis: A story revolving around Pyrrha's affections for her goofball of a leader, Jaune's total obliviousness and all the hijinks in between. And of course, the rest of the RWBY cast will be there to put in their own useless opinions.
Synopsis: Jaune has no idea what he's doing. Nora is hyperactive. Pyrrha is composed but overwhelmed. Ren just wants some peace. Ladies and gentlemen, Team JNPR. With a room shared between these four disparate personalities, what shenanigans can ensue over the school year?
Synopsis: Headmaster Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch have found a potentially powerful artefact in the Emerald Forest. When brought to Beacon Academy, the students are clueless as to what this artifact, the luminescent, could mean to its holder. The students go about their not-so-regular life, unaware of what sort of trouble is caused by the Luminescent, and its brothers, the Shining Artifacts.
Synopsis: Being from a family of heroes, Jaune had long ago realized that heroism wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It was just plain sense to take a safer course in life. Unfortunately, nobody bothered to tell him that the world just didn't make sense. Inspired by the Ciaphas Cain series of Warhammer 40K.
Comments: While based on the Ciaphas Cain books, the author does not ape the series and eschews the first-person biographical style for a third-person style with alternating character POVs, getting into the mind of each. Has an interesting take on Jaune in that while outwardly he acts very close to his canon self, inwardly he, like Cain, schemes for a way to keep from getting into trouble (and fails due to rotten luck).
Synopsis: What does it take to be a hero? What must one give up in order to defend others? What does one gain? What if you don't have the same advantages as everyone else? Jaune will have to find out whether he wants to or not. Jaune/Weiss.
Comments: A AU in featuring Jaune in what is already a Fandom Specific Plot (Jaune is/becomes a Badass), and in which becomes Weiss’ partner. What distinguishes this fanfic is how well it is written. The author puts considerable time and care in crafting his alternate-Jaune and Jaune and Weiss’ interactions. A few spelling errors here and there, but very minor. Due note though, that due to Jaune's altered circumstances he's not that similar to his canon self, but he's not completely different either.
Synopsis: Roman attacks a street vendor who sells a special variety of dust, the only problem aside from the robbery? the special dust is spilled directly on Jaune as he fends off Roman's attack. Little did Jaune know how much of problem this would be.
Comments: Basically, Jaune gets covered in some special Dust that makes every girl in Beacon go crazy for him... including RWBY, Nora, Velvet, and a couple of O Cs. If you like watching Jaune suffer, you're bound to get a laugh. A few grammatical issues, but it's still legible.
Synopsis: If the RWBY characters were all faunus… AU in which a certain Jaune Arc fakes his transcript to gain admission into an all-faunus battle school - except he's the only human being in all of Menagerie. With his luck, it doesn't take long before he's embroiled within all their petty school politics. Which may or may not be related to all those unplanned panty shots.
Synopsis: When Ruby is forcibly taken as a bride by one of the Princes of the Cesartvo Empire, she is thrust into an alien world where might makes right and plots are around every corner. Literally less than a slave in this new realm, Ruby must utilize all her cunning to simply survive. WARNING: Contains brutal rape and torture. RWBY AU.
Comments: Interesting take on a completely off-tangent direction. We haven't really seen anything so far but the quality of the writing, though not perfect, is promising.
Synopsis: Huntsman Jupiter Valkyrie awakens in his old home to see his long-dead family alive. He is a changed man, desperately seeking to fix his mistakes and alleviate his regrets. But not everything was meant to be "fixed." While stranded in the past, Jupiter quickly discovers his worst opponents yet: the inescapable concept of fate... and himself.
Comments: The main character is an OC from an alternate universe timeline who finds himself back in the past shortly before the first day at Beacon, in a 17-year-old body with all of his original memories, skill, strength, and wounds. Instead of simply trying to set things right, he attempts to do so in addition to searching for a way home...

Synopsis: "These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon, so it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." [Pseudo-Novelization]
Comments: A brilliant story exploring faunus human relation, about bonds with people and the way they handle Ruby/weiss and Blake/Yang was done beautifully. a good piece of Pseudo-Novelization.
Synopsis:Ten years after Beacon fell, the world has become under the control of The Cleric Foundation, an old organization from Remnants dark past. Team RWBY rejoin to not only free the world from The Cleric Foundation. But also must free themselves of their past mistakes. RWBY Cyberpunk AU, Rated M.
Comments: This story has some pacing problems, but overall is an enjoyable ride so far, with the author promising an entire trilogy. There is also a Prequel of anthology stories that the author is allowing people to contribute too.
Synopsis:There were once three children. One looked at the ground and hated the world. One looked at the stars and hated herself. One looked forward and hated her past. Then one day, they looked at each other. Slight AU, Rated T.
Comments: The story has good action, an interesting premise, and presents an interesting, if AU, interpretation of certain characters' backgrounds. See if you can spot the Metal Gear Rising reference.
Synopsis: Cinder Fall is a young huntress who has recently been accepted into the world famous Beacon Academy, a school that will train her to fight the evil forces of the Grimm. Of course with the evil Blood Rose family, lead by the evil crime boss Ruby Rose taking action from the shadows who knows how she will survive.
Comments: Enjoyable, through it is only recently coming into its own as an AU, the first chapters are a bit too close too the main story, almost to the point of copying.
Synopsis: The storm hit Beacon in the afternoon. Judging by the continuing growl of thunder and the occasional flash of lightning, it wouldn't be clearing any time soon. ::Jaune x Pyrrha:: ::one-shot::
Synopsis: What started as a late night conversation about breaking legs turns into a struggle very few would understand for Ren as he faces several facts about his childhood friend and partner, Nora Valkyrie.
Companion piece: Crash and Burn: Hunting down a murderer for Beacon, Blake's greatest concern was Yang would take the mission too seriously and kill him even though they specifically had orders to bring him in alive. ::One-shot, AU:: ::Blake, Yang:: ::Companion piece to The Best Laid Plans::

Synopsis: Tired of the effort of choosing all the names for new teams at Beacon, Professor Ozpin acquires a new piece of software intended to make things a little easier on the staff. He probably should have done a little more window shopping first.

Synopsis: Blake knew that the life she had at Beacon was a fabrication built upon a lie. No longer able to live with it, she decides to shatter this illusion and accept reality. Synopsis: Beacon is home to many students with bright futures as Huntsmen and Huntresses. But for Jaune Arc, it is nothing but stressful expectations and constant failing. Already brimming with anguish, a fight with his father leaves the boy in pieces. Who will be there for him and to pick up the pieces?
Synopsis: (original) Jaune discovers more about his partner, as he learns about her past, how will it affect him? How will it affect her?
(update author's note): So after seeing several prompts on iFunny and with people liking Arachnophobia, I've decided to make this a thing. Anyway they will be one-shots around Jaune and not all of them will be Arkos, all will be meaningful and some might be humorous/ enjoyable.
Comments: A nice bit of Character Backstory for Pyrrha, and how it builds the bond between her and Jaune. Also, Cardin gets pounded to a bloody pulp. Then a little Defeat Means Friendship has Jaune helping Team CRDL with their issues and gives the bully team some characterization.
Synopsis: Crossover with Pokémon. Ash finds himself in a new world, and in a new body, he isn't sure how this happened to him, but he will do what he can to survive and figure it out, meanwhile Ruby of team RWBY discovers something that should be impossible: a Grimm with an aura.
