Katawa Shoujo Blooper Reel
, by Cyberchao X, is Exactly What It Says on the Tin: a series of Hilarious Outtakes from the visual novel Katawa Shoujo, under the conceit of Animated Actors. Aside from Hisao, all of the characters really do have their corresponding disabilities, and some of them may have known each other before the "project" started.
Katawa Shoujo Blooper Reel provides examples of:
- Anachronic Order: The segments are shuffled up so that any two consecutive scenes are almost always from different paths, but the order within each path isn't matched and the final blooper of the fic is actually from an Act 1 scene.
- Animated Actors: The driving premise of the fic.
- Call Sideways: Lines from one route are often referenced on another, such as the proper name for a group of butterflies and Hisao's tackle.

Corpsing: It's noted that there are probably other instances of it that would be on an actual blooper reel but don't lend themselves well to the text-based format of the fic, but the "Reverse Escapism" segment is still just a pure corpsing blooper. - Covered in Gunge: The fic ends with Rin falling into her mural while it's still wet.
- Deadpan Snarker: Pretty much everyone except Hanako gets at least one snarky comment, although Hisao and Rin are the most prevalent.
- Enforced Method Acting: In-Universe. Somehow the "wine" for Hanako's birthday party scene ends up being actual wine, and after Hanako messes up the first take and Lilly messes up the second, the third take sees Hanako too drunk to deliver her lines properly. Since later on in the scene in question, Hanako does end up drunk, they decide to film that part of the scene instead and come back to the part before she gets drunk at another time.
- Got Me Doing It: Kenji on take 5 of "Piracy on the High Seas", after Hisao has gone off-script on each of the previous four takes, usually to make a Double Entendre.
- Hilarious Outtakes: The name says it all.
- Improv: Rin is noted to go off script on numerous occasions. She even lampshades it in the aforementioned "Reverse Escapism", because for once she's on script and Hisao's still cracking up during what's supposed to be a serious scene.
- In Vino Veritas: In the aforementioned scene where Hanako's drunk, it seems that she's fallen for Hisao for real, too.
- Lampshaded Double Entendre: A few times. "Things You Can Do" stands out because it's a scene with two bloopers—both of which are lampshading double entendres, but with the roles of double entendre deliverer and lampshader reversed.
- Mean Character, Nice Actor: Kenji isn't really a misogynist.
- Metaphorgotten: Kenji's "proof" that Lilly's in the Mafia ends up going way off track.
- Not What I Signed Up For: "Misogynist nutcase" wasn't exactly what Kenji expected his character to be when he signed on as the Plucky Comic Relief/Bromantic Foil.
- The Oner: Rin's infamous monologue from "Dandelions", but due to the idiosyncrasies of the lines changing ever so subtly, she keeps messing up. By the sixth take, she intentionally flubs it to ask for a break.
- Polyamory: Again, Rin seems to want this with Hisao and Emi. The closing author's note states that this represents a
shift in his thinking, as two previous fics by the author are pure Hisao/Emi while two fics written after this one have the same three-way relationship. - Precision F-Strike: In the scene where Hisao is playing interpreter between the blind Lilly and the deaf Shizune, the latter goes off-script by "making a gesture that even [Hisao] can understand". (Remember, Animated Actors. Hisao the character has learned enough sign language to talk to Shizune by this point, but Hisao the actor only knows what's in the script.)
- Romance on the Set: In-Universe. Either Hisao/Rin or Hisao/Emi (or Hisao/Rin/Emi if Rin has her way), and also Kenji/Hanako.
