Italy ran up to Germany and wrapped his arms around him tightly. "Wh-what are you doing?" Germany demanded, trying to free himself from the Italian's hug. "Don't touch me!"
"Ve, Germany, don't get mad, Germany." Italy said pleadingly. "There are still a lot of good things to think about."
"Like what?" Germany snapped.
Italy finally released Germany and he gave him a bright smile. "We have hope, right Germany? As long as we have hope, we can still win."
Doppelganger, Chapter 28

Doppelganger is an Axis Powers Hetalia Fan Fic by Jenni N. It is still a work in progress.

The nation's hatreds have gained physical forms and are inciting their people into violence, forcing the nations to work together in order to save life as we know it. Despite the ominous summary, Doppelganger is an exciting story that, while grim in some places, is packed full of adventure and heartwarming moments. An excellent read high on the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism.
