* SuperSargassoSea: The Temple of the Lost. The protagonists go there to find Pinkie Pie's missing body, and they have to sort through loose change, missing socks, and other assorted junk first.

* VoluntaryShapeshifting: As a result of different authors disagreeing over what species certain characters should be:

* NestedStoryReveal: The whole story may or may not be an in-universe fanfic--since one of scene gets replaced by Quibble Pants' review of the fanfic.

* RememberTheNewGuy: Several chapters in, Gummy appears out of nowhere, but everyone (including the narrator) act like he’s been with Daring and Maud all along.

** Maud can deadlift a boulder, and she offers to demonstrate this for the Great One. When the Great One expresses interest, Maud instead pulls out a small rock ''named'' Boulder, and lifts him. The Great One isn't amused.

* DoubleReverseQuadrupleAgent: Joey, allegedly a minion of David (who himself is TheStarscream towards the impostor Baron), is actually loyal directly to the impostor Baron and working to undermine David. * DeathCourse: An underground corridor with numerous holes in the walls. When Daring triggers a pressure plate in the floor, frog-like slime monsters swarm out of the holes to attack her and Maud.

* TrapDoor: One of these drops Maud and Gummy into a pool of water. Daring has to dive after and save them.

* WalkDontSwim: After Maud and Daring crash in an underwater ocean and swim to shore, Maud says it would have been quicker if she had sank to the bottom and walked ashore.

* SssssnakeTalk: Captain Bob the lizard pony talks this way. None of the other lizard ponies do.

** To the ''Comicbook/Doom'' comic: Daring finds a pedestal with the words "Rip and tear" engraved on it. Atop the pedestal is a chainsaw.
