Go To

"You've gone mad," Sylar says quietly. Peter's sudden completely irrational anger is so quick and furious it scares him. But he's powerless to stop it.
"Go to hell," Peter says furiously through the glass, close enough to throw spit with every word. "Go to hell!"
"You've gone mad," Sylar repeats, only the fascination is sliding rapidly into something almost uneasy.
Peter leans close enough to press his forehead against the glass. "Then I'll be in good company."

Unmade by Corona is an alternate universe Heroes Fan Fic that takes place after Volume 2. Nathan is assassinated by Company agents pre-story leaving Peter a guilt-ridden wreck. Furthermore, he is imprisoned by the Company with Sylar in the neighboring cell where they are stuck together for months with no other human contact. They are both subjected to dangerous and irresponsible experiments.

It's a Dark Fic with a Hurt/Comfort theme that makes the reader feel the Claustrophobia of being imprisoned in such a place. It can also be interpreted as a shipping fic, or at least the setup for one.

This fanfic contains examples of:

  • Eviler than Thou: When they get out of here, Peter is going to feed Adam to Sylar than he won't need Claire.
  • Power Nullifier: The Company keeps them drugged so they can't use their powers to escape
  • Pre-emptive Declaration:
Sylar: This time they seem to have perfected the medication.
    Peter: How do you know?
Sylar: Because I've been trying to kill you since you started talking.
    Peter: Nice... That's really nice.
Sylar: Since you're not dead, or, at the very least, choking, I'm going to assume the drugs work.
  • Psychological Horror: The fic conveys the claustrophobic feeling of being trapped and isolated. This is essential to understand what extremes the protagonists are driven to by the end.
  • Survivor Guilt: Peter is already breaking down at the beginning of the story because the Company had his brother assassinated because he insisted on trying to expose them.
