Metal Mayhem, aka Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Mayhem, is a fanfic series created by The Blue Brit Blur on Deviantart. It is based on and set in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. The story is a loose adaptation of Sonic CD, while ensuring that the characterization of everyone in the fanfic is as close as possible to that of the cartoon, as if you'd believe that it could actually happen in the cartoon.
The plot features Doctor Robotnik deciding to pull off an effective plan to get rid of Sonic - send him to Planet Miracle, using his new creation, Metal Sonic, to easily capture him so that he can start his rule of Mobius, leaving Tails to take up the mantle of Mobius' hero. While Tails begins to form a more spirited version of the Freedom Fighters, Sonic makes his way to Planet Miracle.

- Added Alliterative Appeal: Every once in a while, Robotnik and/or the narrator will use this in insults or compliments towards the good doctor's allies and enemies, keeping in line with Robotnik's character trait of spewing any alliterative insult.

- Big Bad: Doctor Robotnik, though due to the fanfic being called 'Metal Mayhem', Metal Sonic may end up becoming the main antagonist.
- Dramatic Curtain Toss: Robotnik reveals Metal Sonic through this.

- Large Ham: Since this is based within the "Adventures of..." universe, The Blue Brit Blur goes out of his way to make Robotnik just as hammy in his lines.

- In his announcement to Mobius in Chapter 3, his line "all living things, kneel before your new master'" is a reference to Metal Sonic's line in Sonic Heroes''.
- Several Zones from the first two Sonic games are referenced
- Trrrilling Rrrs: Another characteristic kept in check with Robotnik.
