''Kirby: Unfathomable Chronicles of Legendary Bonehead Blunders''
(shortened to Kirby: UnCLeBoB) is a Kirby Fanfic by Kirby099267, also known as Tropers/420BasteIt, in which Kirby defends dreamland from aliens.
It is distinguished from the author's other works, because it averts Stylistic Suck, compared to other works he wrote primarily to entertain himself.
Kirby: Unclebob contains examples of:
- Audience Surrogate: Dan Dee mostly lacks distinguishing qualities, seems to be at least somewhat aware of the insanity of the people and situations around him, has little confidence and presence, and is apparently a fan of anime.
- The Baby of the Bunch: The very first sentence reminds us that Kirby's essentially a toddler.
- Bad Boss: Meta Knight, who not only treats his minions as expendable and pays them minimum wage, but also takes great enjoyment in the former and is furious when they complain about the latter. King Dedede lampshades this by saying even he's a better leader."You Scoundrel! You dare say minimum wage isn't enough? I'll kill you myself! FOR THERE IS NO SALARY IN HELL!"
- Deconstructive Parody: There's a few examples here and there. For example, Kirby's ambiguously young age combined with the gameplay of Kirby games involving a lot of death and destruction means that Kirby himself is The Unfettered and something of an Enfant Terrible. When King Dedede gives him the vague order to "teach [him] how swords work," Kirby's first instinct is to stab him in the foot.Dedede: "EEEEEEEEEENNNNNNGGGGGH! This is NOT what I had in mind!"
- Gainax Ending: Chapter 2 ends with a huge Shout-Out to Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, involving the story turning into a Song Fic set to "Stains of Time," which literally causes Chocolate to fall from the sky. Marx says that song fics are his Weaksauce Weakness, and there's a Lampshade hung on Meta Knight being the one to defeat Marx. That's it.
- In-Series Nickname: Bandana Waddle Dee is referred to in this fic as "Dan Dee".
- Lemony Narrator: In the second chapter, especially when they use the phrase "beside the point" as reason to ship "Point x Synonyms".
- Recursive Canon: Implied. Marx uses "the dark sword Siegfried," implying that he and Marx/Xander are the same person. Note the Fire Emblem Shout-Outs below.
- Shout-Out: King Dedede has Perverse Sexual Lust for Tharja, though that could easily be taken as a Take That!
- The list of procedures kirby takes because Marx is "too bitter" is a reference to The Powerpuff Girls.
- When Marx knocks kirby aside, it apparently makes a Dragon Ball Z sound effect
- King Dedede references Fire Emblem: Awakening again when he states that he will "build a wall to keep out the Taguels" note Even Marx is enraged.
- King Dedede accidentally calls kirby "Grif".
