Dreadnought Despair description''

Dreadnought Despair is a Dangan Ronpa fanfiction, or "Fangan Ronpa," following the original's basic rules and plot structure, but filled entirely with original characters. The story follows Timaeus Woodworth, the Super High School Level Librarian. Held captive by the robotic MONO-9000, the 16 Hopes Peak students are forced into a game of murder as they kill each other to escape the Dreadnought.

The fanfic recently began its second chapter.

The fanfic is hosted on tumblr, and can be read here. Page one begins here. An updated version can be found here.

     General
To categorize general tropes that apply to all characters, the plot, or anything OOC.

  • Anyone Can Die: Due to the nature of the franchise this is based off of.
  • Accidental Murder: Played With. Oh Honoka, although she certainly didn’t plan to kill Gugalanna/Gisela in the first chapter, death only happened because of her desire to kill Ping.
  • Black Comedy: Dreadnought Despair has got it's fun moments, but it is undeniably dark. People are going to die.
  • Body of the Week: Given the plot, a death is not uncommon on the Dreadnought.
  • Cast of Snowflakes: With the exception of Yusra, everyone on the Dreadnought has an SHSL talent.
  • Characters Dropping Like Flies: Like Body of the Week, it's not exactly rare to find someone on the Dreadnought dead.
  • Clothing Reflects Personality: Most characters seem to have a wardrobe that matches their personality.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Most characters has an assigned color which they are associated with.
    • Some characters don't tend to stick to one particular color however. Michi Kurosawa, Nikola Ragnvaldsson, Ping, and Timaeus Woodworth don't strictly gravitate towards one hue.
  • Recycled In Space: It has the plot, setup, and attributes of Danganronpa, but it's set on a space station.
  • Win Your Freedom: The whole plot.
