Though the world may come to know a time of peace, the duties of a Woo Foo Knight are never over. In fact, they have only just begun.
It is many months after the great battle between the forces of Woo Foo and the Eradicus Corps. One afternoon of training for Yang takes an unpleasant turn when his indifferent attitude towards his responsibilities is brought into question by Yin and Yo. Determined to prove his conviction, he searches for a greater power to protect those he holds dear and to silence his sister and master-father for good.
And in his journey to grow, the past and present come together to pave way for what may be an even greater struggle, perhaps the greatest the Woo Foo Knights have ever known.
Calamity Hoppers is a Yin Yang Yo! fanfic written in 2010 by C.R.Martin and finished in 2011. The story can be read here

Calamity Hoppers contains examples of the following tropes:
- Adaptational Badass: The author has turned Woo Foo, normally depicted as the butt of many jokes in the show, into an actual force to be reckoned with.
- An Ice Person: Thanks to a katana that allows wielders to control ice, Yin becomes this in this story.
- Anti-Villain: The original character Lupin will see to it that the Infernal Beast is erased from existence, even if it means having to endanger innocent townspeople in the process.
- Artifact of Doom: The purpose of the Woo Foo Grimoire is to gather the unseen remains of the Infernal Beast known as ‘Fog’, and is shown to be detrimental to its user.
- Badass Crew: The original Woo Foo Army makes a reappearance in Chapter 15 and later Chapter 20 of the first story.
- From the backstory, there are the Four Woo Foo Pioneers, comprised of warriors who would later become the parents for most of the core characters.
- Big Bad Ensemble: The sequel features The Night Master, Eradicus, and Makai, with the latter acting as the de facto leader.
- BFS:
- Yin wields a katana named Snow Flower which, as its name implies, grants control over ice.
- Rather than his trademark bamboo sword, Yang uses an enormous sword that used to belong to the Governor.
- Brother–Sister Team: The titular rabbits, once again.
- As revealed in the first chapter of the second story, the Mediator and the Governor, the founders of Woo Foo, are this.
- The Corruption: This is what happens to Yang upon receiving the Woo Foo Grimoire from Lupin.
- Dark Fic
- The Dreaded: The Infernal Beast, natch.
- Eldritch Abomination: Again, the Infernal Beast. Its origin remains a mystery even up to now, except for the fact it wants to raise hell across the world.
- Establishing Character Moment: The highlight of Chapter 6 is a battle between Lupin and the majority of the show’s Rogues Gallery. It clearly shows that he is not to be messed with.
- Face–Heel Turn: After meeting and training with Lupin, Yang takes a darker path much like his sister did in the show, except in his case it’s intentional. He gets better.
- Prior to the events of the first story, Lupin himself undertook one of these. After a falling out with his old master Yo over how to spread the word of Woo Foo, he had sought out a means to become stronger in order to accomplish his goal. This turns out as well as anyone can guess…
- Gratuitous Japanese: Much of it is intentional. A lot of the Woo Foo techniques and weaponry featured in the story carry Japanese names, in contrast to the typical Taoism and Chinese influences in the show.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: In Chapter 20, Yang is impaled by a Fog-born shadow in his likeness…with the sword he had been using throughout the story, no less.
- Must Make Amends: Yo aims to reconcile with his estranged student, Lupin, upon learning that he has escaped from his imprisonment.
- Yin also plans on returning to good terms with her brother following their tiff in Chapter 2.
- My Greatest Failure: Yo firmly believes that he was not guiding Lupin properly when he was still under his tutelage. It comes back to bite him in the ass…
- Older Than They Look: Lupin’s biological age is 115, but thanks to being imprisoned in the Pit, still looks every bit like a teenager.
- By the time of the second story, his two friends, Kitsune and Noah, have reverted to their teenage appearances.
- Sealed Evil in a Can:
- Inverted. It is ultimately revealed that Lupin has acted on the inevitable reawakening of the true Big Bad Makai by preparing and training Yang as best as he could, even if it includes bestowing a dangerous artifact.
- Ship Tease: Yin and Yuck, beginning with Chapter 16, where Yin tends to Yuck’s wounds after a fatal encounter with Yang.
- Took a Level in Badass: Yin and Yang were always portrayed as a formidable duo, but the stories ramp up their badassery by a considerable margin.
- Woo Foo itself has taken plenty of levels of badass in these stories, as mentioned in Adaptational Badass above.
