Drinking games for Digimon.
Want a quick way to get alcohol poisoning? Or at least really smashed? Watch Digimon: The Movie, and drink every time "Digi" is said as the prefix to a proper noun (including during songs), such as the franchise name itself. Then prepare to chug through entire fight scenes. Up to you whether "digital" also counts. Really any episode of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 would probably work, but the movie is a nice, rounded choice. English dub, of course; the Japanese version is pretty much devoid of digiprefixing everything except the word "Digimon", and the three Japanese Short Anime Films comprising the English The Movie are more devoid of it than most things.
General:
- Take a drink every time a Transformation Sequence happens.
- Two if it's an evolution that was never seen before.
- Three of it's not a standard evolution (Warp Digivolution, Armor Digivolution, etc.)
- Four if it's a humanoid evolving from a non humanoid.
- Five if it's CG (at this point, you may as well say goodbye to your liver in the later half of the season).
- Take a shot every time a Digimon is calling out its attack.
- Take a shot every time a character stops to think about his personal problems.
- Two if it's someone else apart from the Blue-themed rival.
- Take a shot every time a Monster of the Week is beaten.
- Finish your drink every time Leomon or any related Digimon to Leomon (i.e. SaberLeomon), or hell, any lion in general is killed off.
- Take a shot every time there's an Animation Bump. Take two if it's done for Fanservice. Take three if it doesn't have any female characters drawn in exeggrated manner.
- If you're watching Adventure 02 or Tamers, take a drink every time the show trips over the Continuity Snarl named Ryo or the characters who should know him. (That's the original eight kids and their Digimon, Gennai, Ken, V-mon, and Wormmon).
For Adventure viewers:
- Take a drink every time the heroes fight against Myotismon.
- Take a drink every time Tai and Matt have a fight.
- Take a drink every time Gatomon makes a cat related pun (dub only).
- Take a drink every time Izzy says "Prodigious!". Be sure to have an ambulance on standby. (dub only)
- Take a drink every time TK, Kari, or their partners steal the spotlight from the other characters.
For Adventure 02 viewers:
- Take a drink every time the Digimon Kaiser starts gloating.
- And after his Heel–Face Turn, every time he starts with his guilt-trips.
- Take a drink every time Gatomon makes a cat related pun (dub only).
- If Davis is trying to flirt with Kari, take a shot.
- If Jun is trying to flirt with Matt, take two shots.
- That's almost every time she's on screen!
- Take a drink every time Miyako says "bingo" (JP) or "perfecto" (dub).
For Tamers viewers:
- Take a drink every time someone starts speaking with Techno Babble.
- Take a sip every time someone does a Card Slash.
- Take a sip every time Yamaki starts using his Zippo Lighter.
- Take a sip when Terriermon says "Moumentai". Two if it's someone else.
- Take a sip when Jeri speaks through her sock puppet. Three if something else speaks through it for her. Those memories aren't going to destroy themselves.
- Take a sip every time one of the boys annoys Rika. Take two if the boy does it unintentionally.
For Frontier viewers:
- Take a sip every time Izumi is being useless.
- Finish your drink every time she gets to be useful.
- Take a sip every time Junpei eats chocolate.
- Take a sip every time "brother" or any of its variations is spoken.
- Take only half of normal dose if Tomoki and Koichi say it, unless you want to kill yourself.
- Take a sip every time Koichi dramatically falls down. Two if he falls on stairs.
- Take a sip every time Bokomon snaps Neemon's pants.
- During Royal Knights arc, take a shot every time hordes of Digimon are trying to help Takuya and Kouji. Take two if it's by shielding them. Finish your drink if only one Digimon helps.
For Savers viewers:
- Take a sip every time Marcus says "It's fightin' time".
- Take a sip every time Masaru punches something. Take only half of normal dose if he punches Digimon with levels beyond Champion/Adult.
- If Gaomon says "Yes, Master" (sub) or "Sir, yes, sir" (dub), take a sip.
- Take a gulp whenever he addresses someone else with such formalities.
- Every time some random Digimon talks about the goodness of Spencer Damon, take a shot.
- Take a sip every time Ikuto is having a flashback about Yukidarumon. Finish your drink if he starts hallucinating others as her.
- Take a sip every time Kurata says "It's showtime!".
- Take a sip every time Yoshi says "This is the worst!".
- Take a sip every time Masaru mentions what it means to be a man.
- Take a sip every time someone remarks about how humans and Digimons are never going to coexist. Take two if the one who says it is not one of the villains.
- Everytime Sayuri cooks fried egg rolls, take a sip.
- Finish your drink every time Yoshino nags someone to buy her snacks.
- Everytime Gaomon or any of his evolutions gets his head stomped by the enemy's foot, take a shot.
For Xros Wars viewers:
- Every time Taiki expresses an inability to turn his back on someone, take a shot. Take two shots if the catch phrase gets turned back against him.
- Take another every time Shoutmon proclaims he's going to be the Digimon King. Drink the whole damn thing for the epic one in the last episode, like a real man should.
- Every time Beelzemon's Leitmotif plays, take a shot.
- Take a shot every time a DigiMemory is used.
- Finish your drink and let a hurrah every time Zenjirou uses Star Sword.
- Take a sip every time Nene wears her clairvoyance costumes.
- Take a shot every time Zenjirou tries to flirt with Nene. Take two if she complies back.
- Take a shot every time Akari is being subjected to any kinds of harassment.
For Adventure Tri viewers:
- Take a sip every time Koushiro has an interest in Mimi.
- Take a sip every time Taichi and Yamato argue like old times.
- Take a sip every time a 02 character is onscreen or referred to, but doesn't say anything (you might be in trouble by the end of the second movie).
- To make up for it not being as common as in previous series, take two sips when a Digimon calls its attack.
- Take a sip whenever Mimi squees over Meiko and/or her partner.
- Take a sip every time Meiko cries. Take half of a dose if she cries because of Meicoomon, unless you want to kill yourself when watching the third movie.
- Take a sip every time Young Gennai is being creepy around the girls.
