As payment, Oogway tells Shen the location of an abandoned mine rich in metals that are usable in crafting cannons. It's made pretty clear that Oogway considers the entire affair of transacting with the disgraced, ambitious and mass-murdering noble to be this trope, which Shen -- who greatly dislikes Kung Fu masters -- notes with satisfaction.
