When he leaves to take up the battle she and her husband once waged, she gives him her blessings; but like any good mother, she still worries both about him, and the situation at large.

Lynn was never one to expect things handed to her. There's always gotta be one. That chipper goth that looks scary but is actually very sweet. Sarah is that one. She was content with just sneaking through school; she was going to be a model in Los Angeles after high school anyways. But when she's kidnapped by Marcellus, things begin to change. Goths usually only look scary... right?
Vince Van Zant - Age: 24 - The Punk Rocker - From Fey City, California, United States"Make it loud, make it proud!" Vince is everyone's buddy. A gentle soul who is carefree, he just wants to ride on his hog, hang with Lynn, and strum on Sally, his guitar. Things change, people change, but his ever-so-lofty goals have remained the same since high school. When he's tossed into a conflict that goes beyond anything he's ever seen, he's going to take it in stride. But will that be enough?

Handsome and popular, Ryan's life is the prime example of what most everyone wants from their high school experience. Mother knows best, of course. However, what he is and what he wants are two different things. Having fake friends and no freedom makes Ryan a dull boy. However, the freedom he so desperately sought might just end up destroying him.
Joy Parker - Age: 28 - The Teacher - From Fey City, California, United StatesTheme Song: Jenny Lewis - See Fernando "This town is a god-damned weirdness magnet. Then again, c'est la vie in general..." A sassy teacher from Jake's school. She is well aware of the terrible parenting happening around her town, and she takes it upon herself to look after her students, especially Aaron. Having graduated valedictorian from Johns Hopkins with a triple major, her knowledge of chemistry and physics are surprisingly useful in the fight against the darkness.
Wanderers Adrienna Penn - Age: 400+ (appears to be about 25) - Psychopomp of the Sight - Originally from Glasgow, ScotlandTheme Song: Melissa Auf der Maur - Out Of Our Minds "Don't call me that. That woman died when you died." Adrienna is an enigma. She appeared on the day of the attacks. She gave forewarning of them to Janine. She tried to help, but to no effect. Now, she's attempting to fix the problems by traveling with Jake and Lynn to find Aaron and Sarah. Adrienna is not ready to share her story; all she'll reveal is that she's against Marcellus's plans. Beyond that, her mysteries are best kept untold for now.

A proper gentleman if there ever was one, Samson is the intelligent answer to Adrienna's brawn. The adoptive father and tutor of Jason, he has a long history with the darkness.

Stylish and classy, Gabby's high class upbringing is very apparent. Having her 'Auntie Silva' as a parent, however, has kept her somewhat grounded, and she doesn't let her role as one of Hollywood's elite get to her head.Silva Marcus - Age: 55 - The Filmmaker - From Los Angeles, California, United States"Well, well, our little man-diva is awake and bitching..." A bigtime filmmaker, Silva is used to dealing with the good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright weird that Hollywood offers her. So when Adrienna and Samson bring more weirdness into her life, she doesn't think much of it; after all, it might just be her next premise on the big screen. Paris Madeline Lunghini - Age: Unknown - The Rogue - From Paris, France"Prepare to die, Georgette!" The only vampire that Adrienna ever sired. Due to this siring, Madeline has developed a deep grudge against her, and has vowed not to die until she sees Adrienna turn to dust.
New York City Veronica Carlisle - Age: 26 - The Dancer - From Brooklyn, New York, United StatesTheme Song: Margot Blanche - Diamondback "Wives, are you ready to leave your husbands? And husbands, are you ready to let them?" A sexy and vivacious burlesque dancer, Veronica was thrown into the war upon being attacked by Marcellus. While her natural athleticism and skill with war fans serve her well in a fight, her true purpose lies with her kindness; with her natural charisma, she's there to lend a kind word or advice to her new family.
Kansas City Nikki Quinn - Age: 23 - Psychopomp of the Thunder - From Kansas City, Missouri, United StatesTheme Song: Ten Year Vamp - Pleasures (That I Call Mine) "Okay, wow. I deem you the Queen Slut of Kansas." An ex-military girl now attending a University of Kansas. Nikki smokes, drinks, and swears like a guy, and she's damn proud of it. The living definition of a tomboy, Nikki's approach to the battle is to take a drag of her cigarette and fry the offender with lightning, not really caring to talk the enemy down first.
Tia Del Rossi - Age: 21 - The Everygirl - From Corpus Christi, Texas, United States"Well... There were those twins that one night..." Tia is everything Nikki is not. Nikki is the tomboy; Tia is the party girl. Nikki drinks beer straight from the keg; Tia drinks cosmopolitans. Nikki isn't a whore, while Tia... well, Tia has sex a good deal. Still, the two are the best of friends, and their bond is deep. Seattle Dustin Angelo - Age: 18 - Psychopomp of the Sound - From Seattle, Washington, United StatesTheme Song: Local Natives - Sun Hands "Ryan, face it. I'm a better musician." An aspiring musician from Seattle, Dustin is made aware of the war when he is attacked by Marcellus. Good natured despite his snide facade, he forms a close friendship with Jake, and decides to go along to help him.
Jade Newport - Age: 20 - The Drummer - From Seattle, Washington, United States"Have we advertised at all?" Dustin's girlfriend, and a drummer extraordinaire. Punk to the core. Her hair is silver, she has quite a few piercings, and she's the first to tell you that she stabbed a vampire with a drumstick. She's just that awesome.Evan Briggs - Age: 19 - The Vocalist - From Seattle, Washington, United States"Breakthrough. We need a keyboardist." The lead singer of Dustin's band. Although he has the voice and the ambition, his airheadedness can be a bother to both Jade and Dustin, and they oftentimes have to talk him down when he tries to drag the band into another scheme. Greater Toronto Area Lane Kennedy - Age: 17 - The Student - From Peterborough, Ontario, CanadaTheme Song: KT Tunstall - Fade Like A Shadow "Okay, you, a middle aged man, come up to me, a teenager, and tell me that I need to get into your car because I have so-called powers? Dream on." A snarky teenager from a small town in Ontario. Lane is gifted with latent magical abilities, which Samson picks up on; unfortunately, Marcellus does as well, forcing her to join the heroes for her own protection.
Faye Paulson - Age: 32 - The Criminal - From Toronto, Ontario, Canada"Two jewelers, three drug kingpins... And three suckers. Like fish in a barrel." A beautiful con artist with a rather large bounty on her head. Not surprised to find that she's an acquaintance of Adrienna, Madeline, Jason and Sarah ask her to travel with them, which she accepts. After all, who better to pin the blame on if the RCMP catch up to them?[[folder: Montreal]]Luc Royale - Age: 25 - The Artist - From Montreal, Quebec, Canada"This... Marcellus, you say? He sounds like a truly repulsive figure!" A down-on-his-luck surrealist painter living in Montreal, he encounters Joy and Samson at an art showing, and is immediately intrigued by Samson's interpretation of his work. From this, he gets the full story of Marcellus, and travels with the two to find inspiration. Medicine Hat Kate Ronalds - Age: 29 - The Musician - From Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada"Samson contacted me. I know all about your problem." A locally popular jazz singer and friend of Samson, she travels with Janine, Lynn, and Adrienna when the two of them find themselves in Alberta. Having learned basic magic from him, she finds herself able to hold her own in a fight. Gander Albert O'Riordan - Age: 75 - The Retiree - From Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada"...That lass's still up to 'er ol' tricks, I see." A friend of Adrienna and a retired constable. Albert, upon hearing Ryan and Dustin mention her name, offers to travel with the two, and briefly joins the fight against Marcellus, his age not hindering his skills in a firefight. Vancouver Monroe Dahlstrand - Age: 16 - Psychopomp of the Dials - From Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaTheme Song: Sleigh Bells - Infinity Guitars "I'm back home. But things have changed too much to simply go back to normal." A handsome and popular high school student from Canada. Despite his happy life, Monroe and his sister Kara were forced to leave when Renee attacked him, turning him into a particularly aggressive vampire. Madame Zenda has been searching for a way to cure him, knowing of his ability as a Psychopomp.

With her talent for dark magic, she works to make a change.

But when a trio of vampires kidnap her, she learns that real life is about to get bizarre. Very bizarre.

Once a minister to a warlord centuries ago, Landau's spirit was sealed in a mask when he attempted to perform a coup against him. With his essence still lingering within the mask, he finds an unwitting body within Jason, who, under its thrall, tries to put on the mask at an art show. Janine, Lynn, and Sarah must lead a charge against a friend before he attempts to recreate the empire his possessor wanted.
The Manifest MasqueThe third power, in the midst between light and dark. The living personification of neutrality, where the only willpower is none at all: Absolute nothingness. To achieve this goal, it takes over those it defeats and makes copies of itself. This forces both light and dark to band together to defeat it, as both of their groups begin to dwindle.

However, an investigation alongside Cody and Yukari reveals something far deeper and darker than what she intially signed up for. Upon finding this out, she decides to put a stop to the misdeeds happening around her.
London Bishop Paulson - Age: 67 - The Preacher - From London, United Kingdom"It may or may not be God, but there are good forces at work here, Janine. Have faith, and your path shall be opened." A preacher who shelters Janine and the others while they're on the run from Landau. His faith in God is faltering due to the horrors he's seen in his years, but he still holds firm to the belief in the human will. To this end, he travels with the heroes in their battle against Landau.Eshe al-Zahari - Age: 23 - Psychopomp of the Terra - From Cairo, EgyptTheme Song: Angela Aki - Sakurairo "Funnily enough, I'm not surprised that Sarah doesn't get it." An archaeologist studying within her native Egypt. Eshe is fresh out of university, and ready to explore the worlds below her feet... that is, until she's hunted by the JSDM.
Sydney Shane Parks - Age: 17 - Psychopomp of the Fauna - From Sydney, New South Wales, AustraliaTheme Song: Phoenix - 1901 "Plants. Wow. Why can't I control, you know, a submachine gun? Or something equally destructive?" A snarky but naive Australian. He's forced to abandon the only home he's ever known when he's attacked by the JSDM due to his being a Psychopomp.
Grove City Tyler Dawson - Age: 18 - Psychopomp of the Strength - From Montgomery, Alabama, United StatesTheme Song: Deerhunter - Earthquake "Great. The terrorist chick's gonna be teaching us History. How does this happen?" A handsome athlete from rural Pennsylvania. Due to his upbringing and family life, he's very bigoted towards other cultures and lifestyles. This clashes when Eshe, given two months to do what she wishes before traveling to Qarst, deigns to teach.
Anshar dia Angelus - Age: 27 - The Royal - From Angelus City, Angelus"I will fight for my country, and all who reside within." The young king of Angelus. A romantic by nature, some wonder if he's able to lead in the chaos that happens in the world around him. Regardless, he is well loved by the people, and is a fair and ruler.Niilsaada bin Andazi - Age: 25 - The Illusionist - From Angelus City, AngelusTheme Song: The Postmarks - The Girl From Algenib "Anshar, you grope me again, and you're going to lose a hand. Remember, I answer to you, but the knights answer to me." The head of the royal guard, a master of illusory magic, and childhood friend of Prince Anshar. Niilsaada is the straight man to Anshar's occasional odd tendencies; she speaks frankly to him (and everyone else, for that matter), and some wonder if she should be the one in charge; in addition, they also wonder if there is something more than just friendship between the two...
Thomas Bertram - Age: 20 - The Knight - From Angelus City, AngelusTheme Song: Brookville - Great Mistake "I don't know if what I'm feeling for him is proper behaviour for a knight... Or for a man." A young archer of Angelus, and subordinate to Niilsaada. Skilled for his age, he earnestly fights for his kingdom and for his prince. Unfortunately, his sheltered life left him socially awkward; this is compounded by a distraction by the name of Cody. This catches the attention of the Pandora Society...
The Freelancer's Party of South Baquino Edward Fairchild - Age: 44 - The Island Leader - From Ku-Ti City, South Baquino IslandsTheme Song: Modest Mouse - Fire It Up "Touch my daughter, and I will personally hunt you down and kill you." Kyra's father, and the President of the South Baquino Islands. Is known worldwide for two things: His kindness and his hair-trigger temper. It is common knowledge that the famous sky pirate Kyra Fairchild is his daughter; it's also rumoured this is the reason no allied country dares declare her as a criminal.
Kyra Fairchild - Age: 18 - The Pirate - From Ku-Ti City, South Baquino IslandsTheme Song: Metric - Help I'm Alive "I'll fly through the skies, and no one will stop me!" Coming from a long line of shipwrights, Kyra instead took her natural talent to modify the antique airship her grandfather salvaged; with this, she began a life of piracy against the Kawanagi Empire, flying through the skies with a crew of ladies.
Altair Sylvana - Age: 26 - The Vice President - From Ku-Ti City, South Baquino Islands"...Uncle Eddy, you're acting like an ass." The level-headed vice president of the South Baquino Islands, and Edward's niece. Whereas Edward is bombastic, Altair is serene and calm. Together, they run the country surprisingly well. Often has to wrangle in both her uncle and cousin.Mel Romana - Age: 20 - The First-Mate - From Ku-Ti City, South Baquino Islands The Dahlia Mercenary Guild The most notorious hired guns in the world, these youths are wanted even by the Kawanagi Empire. Led by the charismatic Snow, they take care of their assignments with deadly efficiency. "Snow" - Age: 20 - The Loner/The Psychopomp of Destruction - From Selan, Marino Republic"You have your target. See that she is taken care of." The charming and charismatic leader of the Dahlia Mercenary Guild. Hired by Uriel to take out Jake's group, he and his band quickly set to work. However, something resonates inside of him when he meets the Psychopomps...
"Shadow" - Age: 20 - The Angel - From Selan, Marino Republic"If he keeps this up, there will not be a world left." The co-founder of the Dahlia Mercenary Guild, and a childhood friend of Snow. Shadow holds a deep love for Snow, which she's unable to put to words. Instead, she works tirelessly to keep the Guild running at its best.
Giselle - Age: 21 - The Lunatic - From Aria, Angelus"Too bad, so sad. You irritated me. You die." Where most of the Dahlias don't harm innocents, Giselle and Saya horribly avert this. With Gavin as their somewhat unwilling supplier of all manners of death-dealing appartii, the two are prone to mass killing sprees on the slightest provocation.
Saya - Age: 22 - The Butcher - From Aria, Angelus"I'll just rev it up, and away it goes! Say bye-bye to your arm!" Like Giselle, Saya is perfectly willing and capable of mass-slaughter; however, she is a bit more stable than her lover. Regardless, the two are the most dangerous members of the Guild.
Gavin Hammond - Age: 21 - The Inventor - From Aria, AngelusA brilliant inventor, and probably one of the more decent members of the Dahlia Mercenary Guild. He's more or less been forced to invent for Saya and Giselle; while he dislikes the violence the two cause with his inventions, he also enjoys creating his next great masterpieces, and seeing how they turn out.
Harla Wallace - Age: 19 - The Thief - From Rhapsody, Marino Republic"You people are idiots." Harla is not what you would call subtle. If there is something to be said, she'll say it. If there's something to be done, she'll do it. And if she has a problem with you, you're going to hear it... And feel it. That's Harla being Harla.
Eli Faolan - Age: 22 - The Geomancer - From Rhapsody, Marino Republic"Harla, please, you're scaring the... everyone." The spy for the Dahlias, and Harla's boyfriend. Whenever her behaviour might get her into trouble, Eli's always around to wrangle her back. Together, they make a surprisingly effective team.
Gina Poulos - Age: 17 - The Dancer - From Sebert City, Angelus"Spin, duck, dive, dodge... and kick!" The Guild's designated airhead. Trained as a dancer from a young age, Gina is naturally nimble. Despite her ditzy nature, Gina's abilities come into play against a target, making her one of the more dangerous of the Guild.
Mark Gongora - Age: 19 - The Pictographer - From Ku-Ti City, South Baquino"Killing you will be a pleasure." A talented painter with a skill in magic as well, Combining the two, Mark generally lets his art do the fighting for him.
Santeri Elsila - Age: 16 - The Master of Disguise - From Qo, Marino Republic"Well, hey there... Jason, is it? You're kinda cute." A campy wanderer from Marino, who joined the Guild due to his talent in disguise. Despite his immediate crush on Jason, he knows what must be done.
