A story that's as of 2010 starting to take form by this troper. It's about the titular character, Jack. He found out about his power to heal himself and others when he was 13 and he showed his mom right away, who thought he was a monster and almost killed him in one of her freaouts (she had a history of mental problems) fearing for his life, Jack runs away from home. His father (knowing that Jack's mom is gonna go crazy on him if she sees him) packs up his stuff and gives Jack's best friend (where Jack was sleeping) a couple suitcases with money on it. After a while Jack decides to leave the city and go travel, but he just so happens to look a lot like Zach Sosen, a wanted criminal. He's arrested by accident and in prison he meets the real Zach Sosen, who was posing as another guy. After meeting, he talks Jack into finding a job as a mercenary because he's got a natural talent. He tells him to meet his cousin Leo and he'll get him a job. After being set free, he finds Leo Sosen. He gets a job. And then another, and another. After years of it he tries to try something different. Bodyguard. It doesn't end well. When he turns twenty, he gets a part time job in a hospital, curing people. He doesn't quit the hitman business though, he makes deals with the marks now; if they can double the price on their heads they get to keep them. He starts meeting with his dad, his mom is in a mental institution. When his sister turns six-teen she gets a driving lesson and in an accidental coincidence she runs him over. After their meeting, everything starts to get too complicated for a short synopsis. It's kept changing over the years, originally Jack was The Unfavourite and he shot Hannah in the shoulder, so it'll probably change a lot more before I finally finish it and find a publisher.

Making the right life choices is something I clearly can't do.\\Daddy Had A Good Reason For Abandoning You:Jack: I'd been a hitman for over ten years by then, even If I chose fatherhood over being a hitman, they would never have left us alone, and I would have to have been a full time doctor, and people would've raised questions, and my enemies would see my face in the public. And I wouldn't even get the girl because your mom was in love with Luke, and I they would've come after you when you were at school. And even if I protected you, they might've taken your girlfriend, or your girlfriend's parents— Y: ok, ok, got it! You had a good reason for not being there.\\For Halloween, I Am Going as Myself Super Powerful Genetics: Jack: but there is one thing I've done for you. Y: really, what's that? Jack: I've given you the genes to be a super powered teenage bad-ass and an inheritance too big to ever worry about money for the rest of your natural life. Y: my girlfriend asked me out because I look just like the guy in the poster on her room. The Hitman. Jack: you're welcome.\
