This is a page for Kraken's superhero comic project.

One day in the early twenty-first century, every single prison containing all of earth's violent superhumans, beasts, monsters, and demons were compromised simultaneously, releasing their occupants into the world. Only a secret society formed by clandestine Faustian deals formed by freeholding superhumans (whose alumni included everything from respected superheroes to mutant terrorists to kings of hidden worlds) facilitated the web of alliances and team-ups that allowed earth's protectors to band together and beat back the tides.

Five years later, many supervillains and monsters and the mastermind behind the entire incident are still uncaught. Now, aforementioned secret society - known as the Invisible College - entrusts two of their members to put together, organize, and lead an effort to root out these rogue elements and bring them to justice. But with godlike beings, compromised moralities and ideals, mistrust between teams, harmful secrets, the threat of annihilation, and the manipulations of the one known as the Harrows, can they survive, let alone succeed?

The Sword is the "light" side of the operation, soaking up the spotlight and providing a cover for the Dagger.

The Invisible College are the secret superhuman masters of the world, lording over all like a parliament of barons or a board of directors. Their policies range from secretive to benevolent to constructive to utter anarchy, and they are as different from each other as can be, but they share two things; a desire to protect their planet, and a vision of an enlightened world. How they disagree regarding that nature of illumination is the source of many of their internal conflicts.

• The Five Venoms are a vaguely-connected group of martial artist transhumanists. They represent the "New Wave" of the Jianghu, and think themselves bold futurists.
  • The Centipede is a highly-impulsive, has a great competitive streak, prone to playing the sore loser. A master of the Many-Handed Millipede Style, using the many remote manipulator hand-like mechanisms implanted on his back to strike at great speeds, and co-ordinate multiple techniques at once.   • The Serpent is a manipulative, proud person, prone to hiding things, arrogance, and secrecy. Master of the True-Striking Serpent Style, which strikes nerve and tangent points, powerful grip, moving at great speeds, wielding two sickle-blades and can mentally control serpent drones that are mobile weapons platforms, and can attach to his wrists to become mechanical tendrils.   • The Scorpion is a somewhat mentally unhinged young woman, seeing all things as an opera or ballet and people as actors, prone to mood-swings.
