"You had me at hello!"
— as Dorothy Boyd in Jerry Maguire

Renée Kathleen Zellweger (born April 25, 1969 in Katy, Texas) is an American actress.

She first gained widespread attention for her role in the 1996 film Jerry Maguire, where the above quote comes from, and subsequently received two nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her roles as Bridget Jones in the 2001 comedy Bridget Jones's Diary and as Roxie Hart in the 2002 musical Chicago, and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the drama Cold Mountain in 2004. Her other popular films include Me, Myself & Irene, Shark Tale, Cinderella Man, and Bee Movie.

Her first high-profile romance was with actor/comedian Jim Carrey. The relationship ended in December 2000. In 2005, she was briefly married to Country Music singer Kenny Chesney (who coincidentally recorded the Jerry Maguire-inspired "You Had Me from Hello" in 1999).

She took a break from acting from 2010 to 2016, upon which she returned to star in a number of films including a third Bridget Jones movie (which was released as Bridget Jones's Baby). In 2019 she portrayed Judy Garland in the biopic Judy, which was released to critical acclaim. This ultimately won her an Academy Award for Best Actress, some 18 years after her first nomination.
