->''"I would have been very happy just working from job to job, paying my rent one movie at a time. I never wanted to be this famous. I never imagined this life for myself."''

Kristen Jaymes Stewart (born April 9, 1990) is an American actress, best known for playing Bella Swan in the ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' film series.

Prior to ''Twilight'', Stewart was a little-known actress who appeared mostly in independent films, occasionally getting supporting roles in studio films. At age ten, she had her first major role playing Creator/JodieFoster's daughter in ''Film/PanicRoom''. During this period, she was generally considered to be an up-and-coming talent by those who were aware of her.

However, after her role in ''Twilight'', public opinion of her has deteriorated a bit. Stewart, who comes off as a bit of a ShrinkingViolet, makes it pretty clear that she does not enjoy being famous, doesn't like the series and generally preferred her pre-''Twilight'' life.

She has also played Literature/SnowWhite in ''Film/SnowWhiteAndTheHuntsman''. After finishing the ''Twilight'' series, she returned to small independent films. Her acting fortunes appear to be looking up in 2015, as she became the first-ever American actress to win a César (the French version of the Academy Awards), Best Supporting Actress for ''Film/CloudsOfSilsMaria'', and since late 2013, she has been the ambassador for renowned fashion brand [[UsefulNotes/CocoChanel Chanel]].

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Fond of going barefoot on and off camera.
* FanDisservice: Recently revealed this is why she rarely --if ever-- smiles when being photographed, on the grounds that she believes she'll somehow be a sellout to her fans for doing so. She also said in another interview that she doesn't smile much because [[BrilliantButLazy she's too lazy to.]]
