Group TAC was a highly prolific Japanese studio. Established in 1968 as a sound production firm, the company began producing its own animation in the mid-1970s and over the next several decades worked on numerous TV projects and a few films. On August 21, 2010, the studio filed for bankruptcy. At that point, they were US$6.95 million (roughly ¥585 million) in the hole.
Renowned director Gisaburo Sugii was a founding member of the studio and directed many of its seminal works.
