Angie Dickinson (born Angeline Brown; September 30, 1931) is an American film and TV actress. After finishing second in a local preliminary for the 1953 Miss America contest, and winning another beauty contest in the same year sponsored by NBC, she appeared in a number of TV shows, including The Millionaire in 1955. Her breakthrough on the big screen was in Gun The Man Down in 1956, and in 1959 her part in Rio Bravo landed her the Golden Globe Award for Best New Star.
During the 1960s she became a major Hollywood sex symbol, though she's said in interviews that she preferred being known for her acting rather than just her good looks.
Her last film part to date was in the Hallmark movie Mending Fences from 2009.
During her long career, she has played in more than 50 films and a large number of TV series, including as the eponymous character in Police Woman.
