Comic Strip: Haagse Harry
Kap Nh!!
Haagse Harry is a Dutch comic written by Marnix Rueb. It shows the life of Harry, an unemployed loudmouth from The Hague, who swears and complaints about everything. The comic is very much politically incorrect, showing offensive stereotypes of literally everybody starting with The Hague people. It is best known for the fact that everybody in the comic speaks with a heavy Haguish accent, even characters who are from somewhere else; this makes the comic hard to read if you're from anywhere else.

  • Equal Opportunity Offender: the author. The comic mocks every segment of the population, including and starting with his own.
  • Expressive Shirt: Harry tends to wear one.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Harry.
  • Moral Guardians: The author often gets letters from such groups in real life, most notably the Bond tegen het Vloeken (Union against Swearing). Just like everyone else, they occasionally get mocked in the comic.
  • Not Even Bothering with the Accent: Everyone speaks the local accent from The Hague.
  • Phonetic Accent: all the time. Every word is spelled phonetically the way a Haguish would pronounce it.
  • Political Correctness Gone Mad: completely averted all the time
  • Rescue Sex: Harry suggests it after defending a woman's honor from some unruly Morroccans. She agrees, if he'll first go shopping for new clothes with her and takes her out for dinner.
Harry: "All women are hookers. Those who do it for money are the cheapest."
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Dutch royalty occasionally figures in the comic, generally shown in a cafe or coffee shop. They are, of course, as mercilessly parodied as everybody else in the comic.
  • Symbol Swearing
