Class Of 3000 / S 1 E 11 Am I Blue

Go To

  • An Aesop: Fame and good looks are no substitute for actual talent.
  • Call-Back: When the students worry that they didn't learn anything thus far that will help them in the recital, Sunny lists some Spoof Aesops they learned in "Peanuts get yer Peanuts", "Funky Monkey", and "The Hunt for Red Blobtober".
  • Disappointed in You: Sunny makes it perfectly clear that he is disappointed in the kids for not caring about the music.
  • Only Sane Man: Eddie gets kicked out of the group because he didn’t get turned blue. While disappointed, he sees that the others don’t seem interested in practicing and spends most of the episode rehearsing with Sunny.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When the kids prove unprepared for their recital, Sunny and Eddie both call them out on being so preoccupied with the fame of being dyed blue that they didn't make time for practicing their musical skills.

Heads up!

After flashbacks from the last Fall Showcase, the music class students lose hope as they struggle to find a gimmick to appease the crowd (and prevent them from throwing tomatoes). Later in the episode, they get too obsessed with the gimmick of being blue celebrities, that they forget to practice for the all-school showcase — all-school! As a result, their own audience of fans boos them, returning once again to throwing rotten tomatoes at the blue group.
