A Justice League black-ops team/superhero training program. While most of them are junior partners to various Justice League members, a growing number of them aren't associated with any Leaguer.

WARNING UNMARKED SPOILERS!

    In General
  • Accidental Misnaming: Some people who are aware of the Team call it the "Justice Youth". Justified, as people aren't really supposed to know the Team exists, let alone what their name is.
  • Kid Hero: Most of the team with the exception of Orange Lantern, who is an adult but joined due to having no superheroing experience.
  • Locked Out of the Loop:
    • The Renegade makes sure that they don't find out that he has Bane and Sportsmaster as constructs.
    • Paul is working hard to make sure the rest of the team doesn't figure out that he and Zatanna are trying to kill Nabu, unless their powers are needed.
  • Morality Chain: Orange Lantern has to spend time with Team in order for his desires to align with theirs. In the Renegade timeline, it's thanks to them that the Renegade hasn't gone off the deep end.
  • Out of Focus: Happens in both timelines when Orange Lantern starts doing his own thing.
    • In the Paragon timeline, it starts when he decides to take down Nabu.
    • In the Renegade timeline, it starts when he infiltrates the Light.
  • Sixth Ranger: This role changes hands quite a lot:
    • First it was Orange Lantern due to being a last-minute addition and his complete inexperience at superheroing.
    • Artemis due to being Green Arrow's "niece" and her shady background.
    • Zatanna due to showing up after the Team has already become very close and a bit inclusive.
    • In the Paragon timeline, Cornwall Boy due to having no connection to the League what so ever. In the Renegade timeline, Celestial Archer due to being a Chinese superfunctionary.
    • Rocket due to appearing after a new Team cohesion has been established and not being friends with any of them.
  • Super-Empowering: Everyone in the Team gets an upgrade. In the Paragon timeline they get better stuff or the Danner Formula. In the Renegade timeline, most of the ones who were present for Apokolips' ambush * become New Gods.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In both timelines, they go from rag-tag team to a cohesive and effective team.
  • True Companions: The Team is this in both timelines.

    B01-Robin/Richard "Dick" Grayson
Batman's adopted son and protégé.
  • Badass Normal: Has the highest martial prowess of the Team, to point that OL knows that he'll get his butt kicked if he fights him without the ring. Unlike in the Paragon timeline, Renegade Robin chooses to remain normal despite the Renegade's offer to turn him into a New God.
  • Batman Grabs a Gun: As Batman's sidekick, he normally doesn't need one. However, in the Paragon timeline, he uses one that fires lasers against zombies.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Doesn't like superpowered people looking down on Badass Normals for not having powers.
    • Downplayed. Robin is annoyed when OL corrects him while he speaks about supervillains.
  • Break the Haughty: He can be snotty and a tad hypocritical. The Renegade especially breaks him out of this mindset.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Robin never wanted powers and hated how effortlessly Paulphidian forced it on him. But he does admit that the super durability is awesome.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He watched as most of his family died. The sole exception is his uncle Rick, who was hospitalized with crippling injuries.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: After receiving the Danner Formula against his will in the Paragon timeline.
  • Famed In-Story: Is famous for being Batman's partner to the point of having Gemma Masters and Cornwall Boy Squee over him when they first meet.
  • Hypocrite: Wanted the Renegade to be more open with his secrets but demands his own privacy (possibly a reference to the original Young Justice comic series, where Robin was obligated to keep his identity a secret by Batman, who was considered an urban legend at the time).
  • Improperly Paranoid: Robin is always suspicious the Renegade and checks anything that has to do with him, even though it's clear there is no reason too.
  • Leader Wannabe: In the Paragon timeline, he wants to be leader but is considered too young and not much of a team player. In their earlier missions, he breaks off formation to prove his own skill while Aqualad and OL held the team together. He improves later on and shows that he can act as a proper leader.
  • Only Sane Man: In the Renegade timeline, he's the only one who has truly seen the Renegade at his worst and trusts him the least.
  • Red Baron: "The Boy Wonder".
  • Sacrificial Lion: In the Paragon timeline, his death completely changes the tone of the training scenario, turning what's supposed to a training exercise into a fight for their lives. It's also the first time he understands just how outmatched he was against superhuman opponents once the simulation ends.
  • Signature Laugh: He has one where he cackles in an annoying way to disturb enemies.
  • Stealth Expert: He is this on the Team, sometimes even disappearing before his teammates notice.
  • Super-Strength: Has this in the Paragon timeline thanks to the Danner Formula.
  • Super-Toughness: Due to the Danner Formula, Robin now has this in the Paragon timeline. He is so tough that Killer Croc broke his fist punching him.

    B02-Aqualad/Kaldur'ahm
Aquaman's protégé and leader of the Team.
  • Apparently Human Merfolk: With the exception of his gills, he could easily pass off as human.
  • Bit-by-Bit Transformation: In the Renegade timeline, he slowly loses his visible non-human parts due to the New God upgrade and no longer has visible gills. When it's done, he looks no different from a regular human.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Has feelings for his old friend Tula. Unfortunately for him, she is in a relationship with his best friend Garth instead.
  • Dowsing Device: He's learned to use his Waterbearers to douse for people.
  • Dual Wielding: He wields two Waterbearers in combat.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Like his mentor Aquaman, Kaldur is the son of a human male (Black Manta) and an Atlantean woman.
  • An Ice Person: He gains the ability to generate ice shortly after gaining Ocean Master's Trident.
  • Invisibility with Drawbacks: The Blessing of Squid Ink can make him both invisible and slightly intangible, but it wears off if he makes too many fast or hard movements.
  • The Leader: The leader of The Team due to being the most level-headed.
  • Love Hurts: Losing Tula to Garth hurts him, but he tries not to let it affect him on the job.
  • Love Triangle: Was in one with Aqualad and Tula. He lost.
  • Magic Knight: Aqualad is a proficient physical and magical fighter.
  • Making a Splash: He can control water using Ocean Master's Trident or his Waterbearers.
  • Not So Stoic: There are some circumstances wherein Aqualad's self-control wavers.
    • The reveal that Red Arrow is the mole is the first time Aqualad gets truly angry.
    • He's absolutely ecstatic when Tula joins the Team; the love he has for her literally coloring his words.
    • Encountering a Fear Elemental was the first time he openly expresses fear.
    • He is unhappy when he learns that the Renegade got Black Manta pardoned and that the latter wants to meet him.
  • Only Sane Man: Often the one dealing with everyone else's crazy.
  • Power Tattoos: He uses his tattoos as a conduit for his magic.
  • Prongs of Poseidon: He possesses Ocean Master's Trident after OL cuts off his hands.
  • Shock and Awe: He can generate electricity from his tattoos.
  • The Stoic: Expresses very little on his face.
  • Super-Strength: He is much stronger than the average person.
  • Super-Toughness: Atlanteans are naturally much more durable than surface dwellers.
  • Supporting Leader: He's the leader of the team, but this is OL's story.
  • Took a Level in Badass: He's steadily been improving his magical and combat abilities as the fic progresses.

    B03-Kid Flash/Wallace "Wally" West
Flash's nephew and protégé.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism:
    • Initially does not believe in magic, despite his long-time friend Aqualad coming from a society that uses magic over technology (and uses magic a lot himself). Later on he accepts it and works towards learning Alchemy himself. Somewhat justified in that one of his earliest enemies was Abra Kadabra, a time-traveler who faked magic using extremely advanced technology from the 40th century (and has ironically begun learning real magic since then).
    • Downplayed in regards to him being being a New God. He sees it more as a way to fix his appetite problem and make himself faster than actually being a deity.
  • Big Eater: Kid Flash eats far more than a person his size should be able to consume.
    • This is later Deconstructed. Orange Lantern, Wally, and Jay Garrick theorize that Wally's heightened metabolism was caused by an impurity in his replication of the Garrick Formula. It's later shown that Wally is actually quite bothered by his eating disorder and dreads dealing with it for the rest of his life.
    • He is cured of this problem in the Renegade timeline, where the New God upgrade increases his super-speed and fixes the impurity caused by his Garrick Formula, fixing his eating disorder. He's understandably ecstatic.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Episode 47: Zigzag is centered around him and his attempts at unravelling the Garrick Formula against antagonist speedsters.
  • Flat-Earth Atheist: In the beginning, he was skeptical of the existence of magic, despite several people actually using it, such as the Atlanteans, or the Martians.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: Outside of the Garrick experiments, he is the founding Team member OL spends the least time with in both timelines. Early on, OL is often a little embarrassed by his unrestrained flirting with female characters, especially older ones like Black Canary and Firebrand II.
  • Likes Older Women: Shamelessly flirts with women years older than him, even Black Canary, who's in a committed relationship with Green Arrow.
  • Official Couple: He and Artemis have been going out for a month by the time of Episode 44: A Star Reborn in the Paragon timeline.
  • Removed Achilles' Heel: By the time of Episode 31: Widdershins in the Renegade timeline, Kid Flash is both faster and no longer needs an increased calorie intake.
  • Science Hero: Kid Flash occasionally uses his knowledge of science to help save the day. This is compounded when he comes to believe in magic, openly experimenting with it to be even more effective.
  • Skeptic No Longer:
    • Disabused of his disbelief in magic, especially since he's now studying alchemy to crack the Garrick Formula.
    • He's created multiple recipes of alchemical potions that have different results, including one that changes hair color and healing potions.
  • Super-Speed: Like all Flashes, he has this power. However, he can't start or stop at a dime and he is markedly slower than either of his predecessors.
  • Took a Level in Badass: In Episode 47: Zigzag, he learns how to steal kinetic energy from Max Mercury, a speedster at his level, allowing him to slow down faster speedsters.

    B04-Superboy/Kon-El/Conner Kent
A Human/Kryptonian/Genomorph hybrid clone made by the Light from the DNA of Superman and Lex Luthor.
  • Accidental Truth: After going public, several people assume he's Superman's son due to their physical similarity and his use of the House Of El crest. Since Kon is a clone of Superman and Luthor, with some genomorph DNA thrown in, he is, technically speaking, their son. For obvious reasons, this is not public knowledge.
  • Bio-Augmentation: In the Paragon timeline, Superboy gets the Danner Formula and becomes half-metahuman with an increased gain in strength and durability. In the Renegade timeline, he becomes a full Kryptonian.
  • Character Development: Goes from an angry, neglected Tyke Bomb to a happier, more confident person in both timelines.
  • Defusing The Tykebomb: A literal and metaphorical example. Superboy allowed M'gann and OL to check him for implanted mental triggers and a good deal of his development is learning how to live for himself.
  • Eye Beams:
    • Gets this after becoming a full Kryptonian in the Renegade timeline.
    • As a reward for punching out Oceanus, Helios granted Kon this in the Paragon timeline. It's much stronger than Superman's but has less precision, as it's basically a directed solar flare rather than a laser like Supermans.
  • Flying Brick:
    • Is this in the Renegade timeline thanks to the Renegade making him a full Kryptonian.
    • Is able to act like this in the Paragon timeline thanks to Paul giving him a suit of armor made out of Nth metal.
  • Genius Bruiser: In addition to having some of Superman's powers, the G-Gnomes implanted knowledge from various fields into Superboy's mind, giving him a wealth of information on various topics that he can use.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Is a Kryptonian-Human-Genomorph hybrid. The human side gets rectified in both timelines- turned to full-kryptonian in Renegade, and in the Paragon the human bits get enhanced with the Danner Formula.
  • Happily Adopted: Gets adopted by Wonder Woman.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Is one of OL's closest friends.
  • Hot-Blooded: He is very hot-headed and gets angry pretty easily. He gets over this, mostly thanks to OL's help.
  • Innocent Inaccurate: Doesn't see anything strange about his friendliness to OL.
  • Loyal Phlebotinum: His Nth metal armor is modified to only properly work for him; to everyone else it's just a tough suit of armor.
  • Mistaken for Gay: Due to his interactions with OL, his teammates and classmates think that he might be gay.
  • No Social Skills: Due to being a force grown clone, he had little in social graces. This is fixed through the efforts of Miss Martian, Orange Lantern and Wonder Woman.
  • Official Couple: Begins a romantic relationship with Miss Martian.
  • One-Note Cook: Originally, he only knew how to cook beef bourguignon, with poached pears for dessert, because those were the only recipes Cadmus bothered to include in his programming.
  • Power Armor: His Nth-metal armor allows him to fly and gives him considerable protection.
  • Power Glows: When Helios blesses Kon-El, he glows radiantly as it empowers his Kryptonian half.
  • Power of the Sun: Sunlight makes him more powerful and heal better. This is why, after some convincing, Kon chooses Helios as his patron god in the Paragon timeline.
  • Rags to Royalty: Due to his adoption, Kon is now a Themysciran prince and Diana's heir.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Possibly, Superboy shows no romantic interest in anyone at all prior to Miss Martian, possibly as a result of his No Social Skills.
  • Smarter Than You Look: People are pretty surprised when Conner does well in school and turns to be pretty good at chess.
  • Smart People Play Chess: Joins the chess club at his school and is noted to play at a master level.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: He can be cold and distant but has a soft side that he shows to M'gann, OL and Diana.
  • Unfortunate Name: In both timelines, he finds out that "Kon" mean abomination in Kryptonian. To OL and Miss Martian's credit, they had no idea that it meant anything when they were naming him.
  • Wreathed in Flames: In Episode 51: Titanfall, Helios empowers him with a solar flare and it does this to him. He then throws himself at Oceanus to become a fire missile and nuke the titan.

    B05-Miss Martian/M'gann M'orzz/Megan Morse
Martian Manhunter's niece and protégé.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She is the nicest person on the Team, but she tears into the Renegade for even considering joining the Light.
  • Bizarre Sexual Dimorphism: This is the reason to why she goes out of her way to look and act human. Her true White Martian form doesn't look anything close to human, much less traditionally feminine.
  • Character Development: While M'gann was always perky, she had considerable self-esteem issues due the Fantastic Racism she suffered. Her self-confidence grows as she slowly grows to be more comfortable with herself and her powers. Renegade M'gann becomes a Red Martian, while Paragon M'gann grows to accept her White Martian identity by visibly applying it.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience:
    • Renegade!M'gann, as a Red Martian, loses her species' phobia of fire and loses the stigma of being a White Martian while gaining a considerable power boost.
    • After being confronted with her Martian heritage in J'onn J'aarkn, the captive Burning Martian, and Mistress Martian, Paragon!M'gann comes out as a White Martian. She even changes her skin color and hair to showcase her new found acceptance.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: She loves to cook and bake. It's how she bonds with the team, particularly with Paul, who also does all the cooking.
  • Forced Sleep: Using her telepathy, she can force this onto others.
  • Glass Cannon: She is noted to be very powerful but has the poorest defenses and armor because it will mess with her shape-shifting.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: Invoked by M'gann to better fit in.
  • Master Actor: M'gann is very good at getting the mannerisms, voice and attitude of the people she impersonates, and is considering going into acting.
  • Mind over Manners: Due to Martians all communicating via telepathy, M'gann has to learn that telepathy is a lot more unwelcome on Earth if it's done without permission or without a certain level of trust.
  • Mind over Matter: M'gann has telekinesis, but was unskilled at first. She learns more advanced techniques from her uncle.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Paragon M'gann is horrified by how her actions in the training simulation led to Paul fusing with the Ophidian.
  • Nice Girl: M'gann is kind, polite, and cheerful. When she does something wrong, it's usually due to ignorance, like how she didn't know that people from Earth don't regularly communicate via telepathy.
  • Official Couple: Begins a romantic relationship with Superboy.
  • Psychic Block Defense: She is training with Brainwave to improve hers and she's the Team's by proxy.
  • Pyromaniac: Renegade M'gann develops a fascination with fire after she becomes a Red Martian, finding it quite beautiful. She gains the creepy habit of lighting matches to watch them burn.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: M'gann takes it a step further by being monochrome in color with her black bob-cut and paper-white skin. Paul finds the look rather striking.
  • Shapeshifter Showdown: Has had this against the Burning Martian and Mistress Martian.
  • Telepathy: She's noted by several people to be among the strongest telepaths of Mars, but because of her race she isn't offered a tuition. She receives training from a human telepath to further her skill with it.
  • Took a Level in Badass: She goes from a complete rookie to being able to best other telepaths on par with her Uncle and even Burning Martians in the Paragon Timeline.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting:
    • A trait of her species, which gives her both the ability to shapeshift and turn invisible. With the information she gained from J'aarkn in the Paragon timeline, she managed to become skilled enough to incorporate different forms to mimic things like echolocation.
    • Mr Zoat says that it's possible for M'gann to use molecular disruption in the Paragon timeline.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She has her species' aversion to fire. She loses this in the Renegade timeline thanks to the Renegade removing the inhibitors that the Guardians installed in the Martian species.

    B06-Orange Lantern 2814/Paul/"Grayven"
The main character.

    B07-Speedy/Red Arrow/Roy Harper/William Harper
Green Arrow's first protege. Actually a clone of the original Speedy made by the Light.
  • Aloof Archer: He is an archer and, at least at first, worked alone after becoming Red Arrow.
  • Badass Normal: Has only his tools, wits, and training to be a superhero.
  • Character Development: After the revelation that he was a clone, Red Arrow has mellowed out and become much nicer to people; especially after Speedy is saved.
  • Clone Angst: For a while, he's depressed about not being the "real Roy". Thankfully, he gets over it in the Paragon timeline after the original is rescued. The two actually seem to get along with no problem.
  • The Complainer Is Always Wrong: OL views him as this most of the time, especially on the mole topic. Red Arrow is actually right, but he's the mole on the team. The real Speedy has been under Cadmus lockdown for most of his career.
  • Fiery Redhead: He is Hot-Blooded and a red-head.
  • Good is Not Nice: He is a hero, but he is also rather rude and abrasive with everyone after he goes solo. He becomes nicer after he finds out he is a clone and Speedy is saved.
  • Headbutting Heroes: He and OL do not get along in either timeline. OL especially doesn't like how poorly Red Arrow treats his teammates.
  • Hot-Blooded: OL loves using it against him to get him mad. Paul is condescending and polite, while the Renegade flirts with him.
  • Ineffectual Loner: Paul is of the opinion that Red Arrow would be a lot more effective if he would actually ask people for help or try to communicate with others.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: He is adamant that there is a mole on the Team. He's right, except it's him.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Uses a bow and arrow against people with guns and superpowers.
  • Unwitting Pawn: For the Light, thanks to the fact that he's a clone that was made on their orders.

    B08-Artemis/Artemis Crock
Green Arrow's second protégé and niece. She's not actually not related to Green Arrow. She is the daughter of Sportsmaster and the sister of Cheshire.
  • Aloof Archer: Artemis was originally rather closed off and abrasive, not used to working with others. This lessened over time as she grew closer to the others in the Team.
  • Aura Vision: She gains the ability to sense the magical/divine aura of others with her metaphysique in the Renegade timeline.
  • Badass Normal: She initially only had her combat skills and her bow to fight crime with.
  • Boring, but Practical: The reason she uses a bow because it's a weapon that she, a minor, can carry out in the open because she can claim it's sports equipment.
  • Character Development: Artemis starts out closed off and confrontational with the other members of the Team. After letting down the walls she put between her and them, she becomes friendlier and much nicer.
  • Cursed with Awesome: When Artemis initially gained her powers, she struggled to cope with her new strength. Paul just got her to warm up to the idea, then Paulphidian forces the Danner Formula on her without her consent. It didn't help that she didn't have control over her strength. She gets over it when she gets better control.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was raised by criminal parents, with her father ultimately leaving them and her mother getting caught and spending time in jail (as well as ending up wheelchair-bound).
  • Deadpan Snarker: She usually has something snarky to say when someone says/does something stupid.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Due to the Danner Formula being forced on her by Paulphidian.
  • Hot-Blooded: Artemis can be hot-headed.
  • Official Couple: She and Wally have been going out for a month by the time of Episode 44: A Star Reborn in the Paragon timeline.
    • The Renegade version dates Celestial Archer for some time. She breaks up with him after returning from the Land of Summer's End, due to her experiences living for centuries in the distant future making it almost impossible for her to relate to him romantically.
  • Older Than They Look: She's centuries, if not millenia, old in the Renegade timeline thanks to spending an unknown amount of time trapped in the Land of Summer's End.
  • Platonic Life-Partners: Becomes this with the Renegade thanks to spending centuries with him in the Land of Summer's End.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Uses a bow and arrow against people with guns and superpowers. OL eventually gives her a bow made by the Amazon smith Io, which, combined with her Danner strength, fires arrows that can actually punch through tanks.
  • Stranger in a Familiar Land: In the Renegade timeline, she has trouble living a normal life due to spending an undeterminable amount of time in the Land of Summer's End.
  • Super-Strength: She becomes very strong thanks to a non-consensual application of the Danner Formula.
  • Super-Toughness: She was sold on the idea of the Danner Formula on the promise that it will make her very durable.
  • Took a Level in Idealism: She was jaded due to her Dark and Troubled Past but grew more hopeful when, despite her fears, her friends still accept her after learning of her past.
  • Trick Arrow:
    • She uses ones provided by Green Arrow and Orange Lantern.
    • After becoming a New God in the Renegade timeline, she learns the rainbow bridge and phasing arrow tricks of Celestial Archer. She also learns to channel qualities equivalent to the Elements of Harmony into her arrows.
  • Tsundere: She was one to Orange Lantern, who deserved it at first before warming up to him when he made up for his actions. It helps that OL already knows about her Dark and Troubled Past and does not judge her for it.
  • White Sheep: She is sort of this as her parents and sister are/were criminals, while she herself is a hero.

    B09-Zatanna/Zatanna Zatara
Zatara's daughter and protégé.
  • Amplifier Artifact: In the Paragon timeline, she gets a staff designed by Sephtian that siphons power from the Star Sapphire for her to power her spells without going crazy. It fails when mind altering gas comes into play.
  • Berserk Button: Don't mock the Christian faith. She is willing to confront someone if they do. This tends to get accidentally pushed by John Constantine and Paul, who have dealt with real figures of the Christian faith and found them wanting.
  • Black Magician Girl: It's Zatanna; this is a given.
  • Break the Cutie: Zatanna has not had a good couple of months.
    • In the Paragon timeline she loses her father, she finds out how her mother actually died, and has to watch her father's kidnapper gain acceptance in the superhero community.
      • And it really doesn't help that one of the pieces of solace that she has, the Christian faith, keeps getting hammered by Paul, who works with John Constantine, who has killed actual angels and demons of that faith before.
    • In the Renegade timeline, her father is saved but she gets her heart broken as her crush is already taken and turns to be way older than her.
    • Paul also turns her down, but due to his real age still being secret and him being single, he's unable to convince her to abandon her crush on him, something he's rather uncomfortable with. This comes to a head when she tries to mind control Paul into breaking up with Jade because she was affected by a spell which compelled her to go after what she wants. This results in him having to firmly turn her down, specifying that he is not, and will never, fall in love with her.
  • Crisis of Faith: Zatanna seriously considers turning to Hellenism after angels murder Paul.
  • Geometric Magic: In the Renegade timeline, Zatanna creates a triquetra whenever she uses Order magic.
  • Hearing Voices: She admits that she's been hearing voices from the Star Sapphire in Episode 81: Hoard. Paul is rightfully worried, considering she starts to try and force him to love her through a spell afterwards.
  • Just Friends: Both Paul and the Renegade firmly say that they have no interest in her and she's too young for them. In the Renegade timeline, due to finding out the Renegade's real age, she accepts it. In the Paragon timeline, Zatanna is still interested in him.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: She had no idea of the circumstances of her mother's death, until Constantine was forced to tell her.
  • Missing Mom: Her mother died when she was two and she doesn't learn how she died until Constantine tells her after Clarice prompts him.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She was horrified when she realized she tried to mind-control Paul into breaking up with Jade while she was under Drakul Karfang's influence.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: As Artemis says about her powers:
Artemis: So you can do nearly anything, but you’ve only got so much power and you have to consciously activate it?
    Zatanna: Yes..? That's right.
    Artemis: Sound familiar, Paul?
  • Sdrawkcab Speech: This is how she uses her magic.
  • Smitten Teenage Girl: Developed a crush on OL due to his physical attributes and the fact that he watches out for her. OL is monumentally uncomfortable with this due to the age difference, to the point that when she kisses him on New Years, he almost tells the truth about his real age.
  • Squishy Wizard: Without her magic, she's as vulnerable as any normal teenage girl. OL rectifies this by providing her with viable armor to at least last long enough until someone bails her out.
  • These Hands Have Killed: She is disturbed over the fact that she killed gnomes while under Drakul Karfang's influence. Robin is thinking of talking to Zatara about getting her to talk to a trauma counselor.
  • Took a Level in Badass:
    • In the Renegade timeline, she learns Order magic from her father and becomes a New God.
    • In the Paragon timeline, she not only has the Star Sapphire, but also learned how to block out the effects of power rings and use her magic to manipulate the orange light.
  • Vancian Magic: The only difference between her magic and this is that she doesn't forget her spells after using them.

    B10-Cornwall Boy/Robert Marrack
A young British superhero from Truro, England and was the sidekick of his father, Captain Cornwall. He is recruited in the Paragon timeline after he successfully heals Paragon OL of his chaos magic wounds.
  • Ascended Fanboy: He was a huge fanboy of the Justice League, and now he gets to work with them and their junior partners!
  • Can't Catch Up: He feels that he can't live up to the legacy of his family, since his abilities don't even compare to those of his great-grandfather... So he decides to call up his great-grandfather's spirit and learn from him.
  • Clear Their Name: Wants to clear his uncle's name after learning from Paul that his uncle was used as a scapegoat for demon worshipping fascists in the British government. Batman got him cleared in about a week after they learn the truth.
  • Closest Thing We Got: Paul went to him to get his magic-inflicted wounds treated because he was one of the few people that he knew that could treat it.
  • The Dreaded: As a Thaumavore, Cornwall Boy is actually this to Atlanteans, as they have ghost stories of monsters with this ability.
  • Energy Absorption:
    • After some prodding from Paul, he learns that he can absorb magic from others, which means he is no longer tied to the recharging area he shares with his dad.
    • He used the Sword of Beowulf to recharge his powers for a time.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: He starts using the Sword of Beowulf in combat after he learns he can use it to recharge himself. However, he later gives it away to heal Captain Marvel, who then keeps it as the latter can actually use it properly.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: He wants to be good superhero and live up to the Captain Cornwall name.
  • Jumped at the Call: Jumped at the chance to become a serious superhero when OL considers recommending him to Batman for training.
  • Legacy Character: The names Captain Cornwall and Cornwall Boy have been passed down for generations in his family.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: His father would prefer to be a normal businessman and doesn't care too much for magic or the Captain Cornwall name. Robert, however, wants to be an accomplished superhero, expand his magical talents, and join the Justice League.
  • Magic Eater: He's a Thaumavore, meaning he can absorb the magic behind spells.
  • Mundane Utility: Used the Sword of Beowulf as a way to recharge his powers on the go.
  • Named by the Adaptation: His name was given by Zoat.
  • The Red Mage: He focuses on improving his physical capabilities, classical elementalism, and absorbing magic from enemies.
  • Time to Unlock More True Potential: He decides to train himself by working with OL and John Constantine to resurrect his great-grandfather's spirit to put him through Training from Hell.
  • To Be a Master: His father promises to pass the Captain Cornwall name to him if he joins the Justice League.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Studying under the spirit of his great-grandfather has pushed his combat magic to new levels.
  • Wake Up, Go to School & Save the World: Cornwall Boy is sometimes unavailable due to being in school at the time. However, he is sometimes allowed to be excused if the reason is good enough, as long as it doesn't happen too often. His school gives him a lot of homework when this happens.

    B11-Rocket/Raquel Ervin
The partner of Icon.
  • Badass Normal: Her powers come from alien tech.
  • Character Development: Interacting with heroes with alternative perspectives, like Paul, helps her develop her worldview and re-evaluate how the world works and how she can improve it, instead of just being a Soapbox Sadie.
  • Deflector Shields: Rocket regularly creates barriers in battle.
  • Easily Forgiven: Surprisingly takes the revelation that Paul stole her flight belt designs rather well once Paul explains how he used it to give the Team a better advantage in combat and offered to even the playing field.
  • Energy Absorption: Her belt can give her force fields that absorb kinetic energy to become even tougher.
  • Moral Myopia: She's fine with being on the same team as Canis Minor, but refuses to work with Overgirl. Paul points this out, though it could be justified by her not knowing the entirety of what Canis has done and how he felt/continues to feel about it.
  • Sassy Black Woman: She always has something to say.
  • Soapbox Sadie: She is a strong vocal supporter of egalitarianism, to the point of sometimes annoying her teammates. This comes up strongly in later episodes, such as when she asks the difficult questions when Paul teaches his teammates about Thanagarian history, or Overgirl's introduction to the Team.

    B12-Troia/Donna Troy
Wonder Woman's protégé. She is also her sister, due to having been made the same way as Diana was.

    B13-Tempest/Garth
A friend of Aqualad who joined the Team as extracurricular training.

    B14-Aquagirl/Tula
Another friend of Aqualad who joined the Team as extracurricular training.
  • The Beastmaster: She can summon ghostly fish to aid her.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: With Garth.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: To be more accurate, Tula lost a spar with John Constantine because she didn't fight at all. He'd mentally convinced her the fight was over and made her forfeit. Considering she's from a society of magic users, it hits her hard.
  • Fish out of Water: Pun intended, but British culture confuses her.
  • Heroic Willpower: She's learned to use this to fight off mental influences after being bested by John Constantine so easily.
  • A Lesson in Defeat: Losing to John Constantine taught her that fighting head-on isn't the only way to fight.
  • Love Triangle: Was in one with Aqualad and Garth. She chose Garth.
  • Making a Splash: Her magic is mostly centered around using water.
  • Power Tattoo: She has channelling tattoos for her magic.
  • Redheads Are Ravishing: Both of her childhood friends Aqualad and Garth found her attractive.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Hurting Garth is a good way to anger her.

    B15-Squire/Beryl Hutchinson
A young British superhero and the partner of Knight.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: This is the closest thing Squire has to a superpower.
  • Badass Normal: Is basically a British version of Robin. She also specifically knows Judo and Aikido.
  • Bat Deduction: Squire's data analysis skills allow her to see patterns in large data sets.
  • Brains and Brawn: Downplayed. Knight isn't dumb, he's just out of his depth when it comes to technology. Squire on the other hand is a skilled hacker and data analyzer.
  • Giver of Lame Names: She was the one who named Dark Druid. She admits that she's not good at giving impressive names.
  • Hollywood Hacking: Beryl is good at using her hacking skills to get information that the Team needs.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: She's one to her mentor, Knight, as he stays sober because of her.
  • Master Actor: Squire demonstrates her acting skills for the Team by perfectly copying Aqualad's speech pattern, accent, and body language.
Squire: No need to worry. Most people don't recognise me when I take my tabard off, but just in case I've got a fast setting hair dye and accents for all occasions.
OL: (internally) She changes her expression, going from smiling and enthusiastic to reserved and dispassionate. Is she..? She's doing a Kaldur!
Squire: I believe that I will be able to pass unremarked, especially if I mimic the body language of those around me.
OL: (internally) She's even got his accent!
Aqualad: (amused) I believe that will suffice.
  • Omniglot: She can speak seven languages fluently.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: She can be very tactless and not know when to drop an uncomfortable subject, or unintentionally say something offensive.
  • Photographic Memory: She has an eidetic memory.
  • Playful Hacker: Her talents lie in data analysis and finding information, and she usually has a cheeky remark to say.
  • Too Clever by Half: She occasionally lets her smarts get the better of her and does things that are brilliant but also makes things worse because she didn't entirely think about the consequences or implications of her actions.
  • Wake Up, Go to School & Save the World: Averted. Squire is so smart, she never gets anything less than 100% in her tests. As such, so long as she does her schoolwork, she doesn't have to worry about missing class.

    B16-Speedy/Arsenal/Roy Harper
Green Arrow's first protégé and the genetic source of both Red Arrow and Guardian.

    B17-Canis Minor
A New God from Apokolips who fled for being a liberal, by their standards. He is the New God of Art.
  • Blood Knight: He's always up for a fight.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Is very progressive, liberal, and a patron of the arts... by the standards of Apokolips. Apokolips doesn't care about things like gender, sexuality or race, but is instead founded on a kind of extreme Social Darwinist feudal system, all under the absolute, unquestionable rule of Darkseid.
    • During Episode 43: The Triumph Of The Will, he scoffs at the Holocaust and other deaths caused by the reign of Adolf Hitler - by Apokolips standards, that would barely fill up an afternoon.
    • It's later explained that he thinks beauty is more important than happiness, and can find beauty in some unusual places.
    • He doesn't approve of Paul rejecting Zatanna; he considers OL to be a powerful New God in his infancy, and other, weaker New Gods such as Zatanna will naturally be drawn to him. That Zatanna is an underage teenager who's romantically interested in Paul despite the age difference doesn't matter to Canis. His objection lies on the metaphysical level, rejecting useful followers for no good reason makes no sense to him.
  • Book Dumb: Canis is this by Apokoliptian elite standards.
  • Fish out of Water: Has a bit of trouble adapting to Earth's social mores. He's also utterly baffled after he finds out that there are still Old Gods on Earth (the Hellenistic pantheon), and none of them are part of the Justice League, or even exist visibly to anyone other than a small enclave of worshippers.
  • Foreign Queasine: Canis has his own turn as Team Chef like everyone else, with less than stellar results. Not only is Apokoliptian cuisine not exactly a crowd pleaser, he originally wanted to hold a battle royal to decide who deserved to be fed.
  • Heroic BSoD: He is devastated after he's forced to realize that he is Persona Non Grata on Apokolips and that his lord Darkseid has forsaken him.
  • Klingons Love Shakespeare: Was first found by OL and the Team admiring the works in the Louvre. Which he was also trying to destroy, as part of some convoluted statement about the absurd beauty of destruction.
  • Lack of Empathy: Averted. Canis doesn't lack the ability to understand what the people around him are feeling. The problem with him is that he doesn't automatically regard suffering as bad.
  • Mad Artist: By Earth standards, being an Apokoliptian. On top of that, he prefers performance art over other art forms, which tend to be avant-garde at the best of times.
  • Mounted Combat: He sometimes fights while riding Beton Brut.
  • Persona Non Grata: Was kicked off of Apokolips and is pursued by their assassins for, by their standards, being a flaming liberal. His first meeting the Team was interrupted by an attempt to kill him courtesy of Kanto, who wasn't expecting the interference.
  • Sex Is Violence: He appreciates the moves of combat. He makes no distinction of gender either, as he's shown an interest in both Kaldur, Superboy and M'gann after particularly appealing battles.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Canis is not a Defector from Decadence like Barda, and could not care less about humanity or Earth in general. He's just not a megalomaniac sadist like most of Darkseid's elite, his love for art means he prefers having civilization around instead of burning it all down For the Evulz, and his sense of hierarchy means he'll follow the orders of Kaldur, OL and the Justice League.

    B18-Starfire/Leonid Kovar
A Russian superhero who joins the Team at the same time Rocket Red joins the Justice League.
  • Flying Brick: He's tough enough to fight a dragon.
  • Flying Firepower: He can fire something that looks like plasma.
  • Hand Blast: His plasma blasts can only come from his hands.
  • Military Superhero: He was not a qualified officer, but has been trained in combat, tactics, and piloting.
  • The Stoic: He usually maintains a military discipline.
  • Token Minority: The first Russian superhero to become part of the Team.

    B19-Osiris/Amon Tomaz
The brother-in-law of Teth Adom.

    B20-Noriel/Supergirl II/Linda Danvers
A cynical girl who had the memories of the angel known as Noriel implanted in her mind.

    B21-Star Sapphire/Ghia'ta
A Star Sapphire who accompanied Dame Carol Ferris to Earth to learn more about love.

    B22-Green Lantern 2815/Arisia Rrab
A rookie Green Lantern who has been apprenticed to Hal Jordan.

    B23-Overgirl/Angelika Kant
A superhero from Earth 10, where the Nazis won World War II thanks to their equivalent to Superman, Overman.
  • Adoptive Name Change: Her last name was changed from Köhler to Kant after Overman took her in.
  • Character Development: Paul's efforts to show her the flaws of her world's teachings eventually work, leading to her desiring to become less of a Nazi.
  • Culture Clash: She is trying to understand how a world where National-Socialists do not reign supreme works.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: As a result of the very biased history she was taught, she has many misconceptions of how some things that the Nazis considered evil really are.
  • Flying Brick: She was a regular human who had kryptonian powers bestowed upon her via scientific experimentation, so she is this.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Has this reaction when she finally understands how monstrous National Socialist society and her actions while serving it really are.
  • Noble Bigot: She discriminates against "lesser beings" but always tries to be polite about it, as she believes that is what the "superior being" should do. Slowly stops this after her Character Development.
  • Put on the Bus: She goes back to Earth 10 after a way back is found.
  • Shorttank: Her costume consists of a shirt, a cape, and shorts.
  • Supernatural Martial Arts: She knows some of the traditional Kryptonian martial arts that make use of a Kryptonian's strong nuclear force manipulation. She then teaches what she knows to Superman and the other Kryptonians of Earth 16.

    B24-Supergirl III/Kara Zor-L
A version of Supergirl from another universe who somehow ended up on Earth 16.
  • Eye Beams: Has heat vision like other Kryptonians.
  • Flying Brick: Has the standard powerset of Kryptonians under a yellow sun.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Naivety aside, she's very sweet and only wants to do good.
  • In-Series Nickname: In order to differentiate her from the local Kara, she's sometimes called "New Kara".
  • My Nayme Is: Her name is spelled slightly different from the local Kara, but it doesn't sound different when said out loud.
  • Naïve Newcomer: She's new to the superhero life and has a lot of misconceptions that others have to correct.
  • Super-Senses: Supergirl III's senses are noticeably more acute than those of the local Kryptonians.

    B25-Match/Mitchell Kent
A prototype clone of Superboy. Was healed much later in the Paragon timeline, but eventually joined the Team as well.
  • See his entry in The Team-Renegade Timeline Members for more information.

The Team-Renegade Timeline Members

    B10-Beowulf/William "Billy" Batson
In the Renegade timeline, Billy decides to be part of both the Team and the Justice League.

    B11-Celestial Archer/Xu Tao
A Chinese superfunctionary from the Great Ten. He joins the Team as a form of cooperation on the Chinese's side.
  • Culture Clash: He is unused to how the League and Team operates compared to the Great Ten, and is sometimes very shocked by the differences.
  • Fish out of Water: He is trying to get used to living in a society that isn't so controlling of their people.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: His ability and skill with archery.
  • Nice Guy: He is very polite with others, and not at all boastful of his skills as an archer.
  • Sacrificed Basic Skill for Awesome Training: He, like many other Chinese superfunctionaries was recruited by the Great Ten by the government. While this means he is the literally the best archer in the world, he didn't have any time to do things like go on dates until he was recruited for the Team.
  • Ship Tease: Went on a date with Artemis.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Celestial Archer enhances his weapons with his magical abilities.
  • Trick Arrow: He is capable of forming a rainbow bridge with his arrows. He can also cause them to selectively phase through objects.
  • White Sheep: The Team is aiming to turn him into one, hoping to make him less violent than the rest of the Great Ten.

    B12-Match/Mitchell Kent
A prototype clone of Superboy. In the Paragon timeline he is put in a medically-induced coma by OL. He is eventually cured and let out to live his own life. In the Renegade timeline, the Renegade is able to heal him of his physical ailments immediately with the Father Box while M'gann cured the mental ailments.
  • Ascended Extra: In the Renegade timeline, due to the Renegade having the Father Box, raiding Superman's Fortress of Solitude to reference Kryptonian physiology and genetics, and M'gann's increased psychic prowess, Match is cured of his Clone Degeneration and brainwashing when he is rescued from Cadmus. He even joins the Team.
    • In the Paragon timeline, though it takes a lot more time, he does eventually get cured as well, though he doesn't join the Team.
  • Big Little Brother: He is technically older than Superboy but is far less experienced and more naïve than Superboy since he didn't get the telepathic education Superboy had.
  • Black Eyes of Crazy: Match has black sclera and, as a result of being a failed clone, always berserk. Thankfully, this is no longer the case after his berserk state is cured.
  • The Bus Came Back: Match is eventually healed in the Paragon timeline in Episode 84: Angelic.
  • Clone Degeneration: He experienced this, which made him an uncontrollable berserker.
  • Clones Are People, Too: He's seen as Superboy's brother instead of 'another clone'.
  • Convenient Coma: In the Paragon timeline, he is put in one due to the unavailability of trustworthy doctors capable of treating him.
  • Flawed Prototype: His cloning resulted in mental and physical instability and lacks the extensive education Superboy has.
  • Flying Brick: As expected of a clone of Superman.
  • Foil: Is far more naïve than his brother due to his inexperience living and lack of education. Although he has less emotional issues than Superboy due to never being taught to look up to Superman.
  • Happily Adopted: He is also adopted by Wonder Woman in the Renegade timeline.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Kept his black sclera to differentiate himself from his brother.
  • Part-Time Hero: He is this in the Paragon timeline.
  • Put on a Bus: In the Paragon timeline, he remains in Cadmus as Paul didn't have the information or ability to fix him. Thankfully, he is eventually healed.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: He lacks Superboy's hard-earned combat prowess but, due to being a full-blooded Kryptonian, he's a lot stronger in the Paragon timeline.

    B14-Ixy
A G-Goblin made to interact with people in order to improve the image of Genomorphs.

    B17-Polara/Frances Kane
A friend of Kid Flash who developed magnetic powers.

The Team-Other

    C01-Teekl
The former familiar of Klarion the Witch Boy.

    C02-Sphere
A sentient piece of technology from New Genesis.
  • Hover Bike: Can transform into one.
  • Out of Focus: Is not as prominent in the fic in the Paragon timeline compared to the show.

    C03-Wolf
A wolf that has been enhanced with both the Danner Formula and Kobra Venom.
  • Head Pet: She travels on Teekl's head.
  • Interspecies Adoption: Wolf, a wolf puppy is being raised by Teekl, a cat.
  • Precious Puppy: Wolf is a Dannered wolf puppy.
  • Really Was Born Yesterday: As a newborn puppy, she was born literally hours before the Team found her.
  • Sole Survivor: Is the only one of her pack to remain due to the Team killing them when her pack attacked them.
  • Super-Strength: Is believed to eventually develop it due to receiving the Danner Formula. She gains as she grows.
  • Team Pet:
    • More so than Teekl as Wolf is too young to do anything.
    • She's now fully grown, and is being trained to use her Danner strength in combat.

    C04-Fatty & C05-Chubbs
Fatty is the first Praexis Demon that was assimilated by Paul. Chubs is the second.

    C06-Beton Brut
Canis Minor's loyal hound companion.

    C01-Tawny the Tiger
A Venom-Buster enhanced tiger adopted by the Team in the Renegade timeline.
  • Intellectual Animal: Learned how to speak through watching the BBC.
  • Nearly Normal Animal: As he said himself, he's a tiger with human-level intelligence not a human in tiger's skin. He still has tiger-based instincts and emotions. Without the ring translating for him, Tawny can't actually speak.
  • Talking Animal: Averted, he is physically incapable of speaking due to having no lips and the wrong mouth for it.
  • Uplifted Animal: Received the New God Awakening from the Renegade.
