A young boy living in a remote village. Unlike other youths, he does not have an ARM. He dreams of leaving his hometown and becoming a famous Golem Hunter, like his hero Nightburn. Together with Rebecca, he witnesses a golem arm fall from the sky, with a young woman protected in its fist, and sets off to realise his dream and solve the mystery of this young woman. His unique ability is Double Critical, which doubles the damage done when he scores a Critical Hit.
Dean's childhood friend. She has strong feelings for him, but doesn't have the courage to reveal them. Rebecca dreams of one day taking her acrobatic shooting act on the road and becoming a star. Her unique ability is Continuous Shot, which gives her a chance to repeat an attack as long as she has bullets in her ARM.
A mysterious girl with no memories of her past beyond her name. She fell from the sky held within the fist of a golem's arm. Dean and Rebecca agree to help her search for her memories. Her unique ability is Double DP, which gives her a small chance to double DP earned when attacking.
Defrosting Ice Queen: Avril was once the tyrannical leader of Filgaia 12,000 years ago, literally nicknamed "Ice Queen". After a botched scientific project devastates the land, half of the population leaves the planet on the space ship Locus Solus and became the Veruni. Out of remorse, Avril puts herself into cryosleep to await their return, and winds up with amnesia as a result.
Voiced by: Tomoyuki Shimura (Japanese) and Patrick Seitz (English)
A self-proclaimed "Golem Crusher" who goes around destroying golems. He is seeking revenge on a certain Veruni, and he believes that by destroying golems he will eventually lure him out. This brings him into conflict with Dean, who loves golems and is appalled that anyone would destroy them. His unique ability is Shoot and Guard, which gives him a small chance to automatically enter the defensive Guard stance after attacking.
BFG: His ARM is the one Kartikeya used to kill his family.
Clear My Name: Subverted. He tries to at first, but when he realizes that he has no proof and that no one will believe him, so he gives up and goes on his quest for revenge. He's later cleared when his father-in-law sees Kartikeya for himself.

A Golem Hunter apprentice with self-confidence issues. He is falsely accused of stealing an artifact and nearly executed hanged by the local Veruni, but Dean and party intervene just in time. His unique ability is Damage Up, which increases the amount of damage his attacks do as his HP decreases.
Can't Catch Up: Joins the party several levels lower than everyone else. Can be avoided if you're making use of the Black Market (as you spend character levels there) or if you give him a lot of Level Apples or a Hen Badge.
Childhood Friend Romance: An ultimately unrequired one with Lucille. Chuck himself states it was his own fault not for getting her feelings before, his troubled past really didn't help, either.
Clear Their Name: When you first meet him, he's been accused of stealing the Mirror of De Soto, an ancient artifact. Dean and friends have to find the mirror before Chuck is executed for it.
An orphan who is looked after by a mysterious and half-mad professor. She is extremely intelligent but very shy and clumsy, especially around boys. She was separated from the professor and is currently looking for him. Her unique ability is Shoot Anywhere, which allows her to target any Hex in battle.
Grew Beyond Their Programming: Implied at the end. After beating Asgard, Volsung turns Jotenheim around to squash our heroes. Asgard gets back up, roars with what looks very much like rage, and sends his fist through Jotenheim's back.
Large Ham: The captain: a ham if ever there was one. Any time he appears in a cutscene, he will be yelling SOMETHING. Usually while being badass. Often while ignoring gravity. Seriously, the man is awesome.
Better to Die Than Be Killed: After losing to Greg for the last time, Kartikeya shoots himself in the stomach, hoping to forever deny Greg justice, only to be stunned and die a failure when Greg reveals that he doesn't care about that anymore.
Bullet Catch: When shot at by Greg, he just grabs all the bullets out of the air except for the last one...which he catches with his teeth.
But for Me, It Was Tuesday: When confronted about killing Greg's family, Kartikeya doesn't even remember who they were, although later dialogue hints that he's just claiming this to mess up with Greg's head even more.
Combat Stilettos: Rare male example. And proof that a man can be intimidating in heels.
Sore Loser: Becomes very angry when something doesn't go his way. Examples include his violent temper tantrum after Captain Bartholomew rescues the party, and shooting himself after being beaten by Greg.
Token Evil Teammate: All other Sentinels and even Volsung are actually not such bad people. Kartikeya, however, is just plain evil.
Villainous Breakdown: When Captain Bartholomew rescues the party from the radicals, he shoots a TV screen while screaming and shaking. And finally when Greg is starting to overpower him. Even when he shoots himself in a bid to forever deny Greg his vengeance, the latter reveals that he doesn't care anymore, making him realize he is about to die in vain.
Ironic Name: Alviss was a dwarf that wanted to marry Thor's daughter. This Elvis is a really huge guy, and his daughter seeks to gain his permission to "date" Dean.
Large Ham: Let's just say he's not shy about his love for his adopted daughter.
Lightning Bruiser: Looking at Elvis' size, you might think that he's a Mighty Glacier. Then you look at his stats when he's fighting your team in the TF Tower and you realize he's faster than Fereydoon.
Boomerang Bigot: Volsung is fanatically dedicated to making sure nobody ever "crosses the wall" between Veruni and humans, despite himself being a Veruni/human hybrid and hence a living example of crossing the wall.
Evil Plan: Reformat the planet so it will stop rejecting Veruni and making them sick. Unfortunately this process will kill every human on the planet. Then at the end, Dean and co. discovers that was a lie — his real goal, fueled by the influence ofthe Hatred, is to create a World of Silence and kill off both races.
Freudian Excuse: Both sides' rejection of him led to him becoming vulnerable enough to be possessed by the Hatred.
From Nobody to Nightmare: Used to be a scrawny kid. But after getting possessed by the Hatred, he started climbing up the Veruni political ranks really fast.
Trauma Conga Line: His father disappeared, then his mother died, then he was chased out of his hometown, then the humans of the town he escaped to rejected him, and finally attacked and possessed by the Hatred.
Throwing Your Sword Always Works: One of his attacks. In fact, it counts towards monster encyclopedia completion if you hit it after he throws it into the ground.
Well-Intentioned Extremist: He wants to end racism between humans and Veruni. Violently. Subverted because he's actually not extremist at all, just possessed by the embodiment of the rage of every person who failed to bridge the gap between humans and Veruni. Played straight that he really wanted to do just that back when he was sane.
