Werewolves

    Elena Michaels
    Clayton Danvers
  • Ax-Crazy: His reputation with the rest of the Non-Pack werewolves.
  • Berserk Button: Do not threaten Elena, Jeremy or Katie and Logan.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Was bitten as a child and had to survive alone until Jeremy found him.
  • Deadpan Snarker
  • The Dragon: To Jeremy, and later to Elena when she becomes Alpha.
  • Drives Like Crazy: The speed limit is more of a suggestion to him.
  • Everyone Loves Blondes: Much to his annoyance.
  • Happily Adopted: Basically this with Jeremy, though sees Jeremy as his protector rather than a father. Legally, he's Jeremy's orphaned cousin who he took in.
  • Jerkass: To pretty much anyone who isn't his Pack.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold
  • The Leader: He's not this, nor does he wish to be, but a lot of werewolves outside the Pack convince themselves he's the real Alpha after Jeremy retires, as they can't imagine a woman being Alpha.
  • No Social Skills: Zig-zagged. He has social skills, he just doesn’t see the point in using them most of the time, making people think he doesn’t have them at all.
  • Southern Gentleman: At least to Elena.
    Jeremy Danvers
  • Best Friend: To Antonio Sorrentino.
  • Good Parents: Not Clay's father, but raised him and did a good job.
  • It's Not You, It's My Enemies: As Alpha, he has a dangerous job. He tries to warn Jamie that a relationship with him would be very difficult for this reason.
  • The Leader: Alpha of the Pack after Dominic, and keeps this position until he steps down and Elena replaces him.
  • The Medic: Learned emergency medicine when Clay was young, after an incident, and even in the present day, is still well versed.
  • Raised by Grandparents: Implied to have mainly been raised by his grandfather, who left everything he owned to Jeremy.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: As Alpha, he balances Elena and Clay's impulsivity.
  • The Smart Guy: Diplomatic, has absolute self-control, knows many languages as he worked as a translator, later learned emergency medicine, has good ideas for the Pack, considered the best Alpha the Pack had ever known. Apparently inherited this from his grandfather, who raised him.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With Malcolm, his father.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: 6'2" with black hair and eyes.
    Nick Sorrentino
  • Best Friend: To Clay Danvers.
  • The Charmer: Sleeps with many women when young, before eventually settling into a relationship with Vanessa Callas.
  • Lazy Bum: Willing to work for the Pack, but doesn't have a job, instead living on his father's money, until Katie and Logan are born. After that, he wonders what he's doing with his life and settles into a career in graphic design.
  • The Mentor: To Reese and Noah, after they join the Pack.
    Antonio Sorrentino
  • Best Friend: To Jeremy Danvers.
  • Older Than They Look: Due to the werewolf genes, he looks so close in age to his son Nick that they pass themselves off as brothers to avoid suspicion.
    Karl Marsten
  • Affably Evil: While he was still a mutt, he would charm other mutts in the area he was occupying and invite them to dinner in hopes of getting them to leave before he had to kill them. His charm and affability carries over into his eventual Heel–Face Turn.
  • Anti-Hero: After his Heel–Face Turn, he qualifies as one.
  • Berserk Button: Hope being in any kind of danger is enough to make him drop the sophisticated act within seconds. This applies even when they aren’t together.
  • Brainy Brunet: By the time of "Life After Theft," he works part-time developing security systems. Hope mentions in the same story that Karl designed their house's security system.
  • The Chessmaster: In Bitten, he's content to play both sides after joining up with Daniel Santos' rebellion, all to get the territory he's wanted for years. He succeeds.
  • The Dandy: According to Hope, his fashion sense was what made her mother accept their marriage despite the age gap.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His father was murdered in front of him when he was a teenager, and he never had a permanent home due to Pack laws banning mutts from owning territory.
  • Demonic Possession: Twice, once by a lesser demon called Nybbas in the short story "Lucifer's Daughter" and again by Lucifer in Thirteen.
  • Gentleman Thief
  • Handicapped Badass: In Thirteen, he helps rescue Hope while temporarily confined to a wheelchair. This is after he gets shot in the head.
  • Happily Married: To Hope.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: He is taller than Hope.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: His eyes are often described this way.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Josef Marsten was quiet, nonconfrontational, and preferred quiet burglaries. Karl is known for more daring heists and clearly enjoys the adrenaline rush he gets from his career.
  • May–December Romance: With Hope. As of Personal Demon, Karl is 50 and Hope is in her mid-twenties.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Karl, from the Germanic hari, means warrior. Karl has a reputation for being a skilled and dangerous fighter.
    • In Roman mythology, Mars is associated with wolves. Karl Marsten is a werewolf.
  • Older Than They Look: He's fifty years old as of Personal Demon, but because werewolves age much slower than humans, he looks like he's in his mid-thirties. Other werewolves take to calling him "old man," to the confusion of anyone who doesn't know how old he actually is.
  • Street Urchin: His early years were spent learning how to steal and fight, and he and his father constantly moved to avoid running into other werewolves.
  • Tall, Dark, and Handsome: He is described this way by Hope in their first meeting. Also qualifies as Tall, Dark, and Snarky.
  • 'Tis Only a Bullet in the Brain: Double subverted in Thirteen. He gets grazed by a bullet wound to the head and shot multiple times in the back; when he's found near death and brought to the hospital, the doctors are unsure whether he'll survive even after surgery. He lives, but it takes him a while to fully recover.
  • Will They or Won't They?: He and Hope have an on-again, off-again relationship, mostly because of Karl's confidence issues. He finally proposes to her in "Lucifer's Daughter," and they are Happily Married from then on.
  • Working with the Ex: In Personal Demon, he returns from Europe after apparently leaving for good in order to honor his half of a debt he and Hope owe to Benicio Cortez. Over the course of the novel, he reconciles with Hope and they get back together.
  • You Killed My Father: He hated Malcolm for murdering his father, and spent years honing his fighting skills so he could confront and kill him. When another mutt got to him first, Karl wasn't too happy about it. Turns out Malcolm didn’t really die, but by the time Karl finds out about this, he cares more about the life he’s made for himself than seeking revenge.
    Malcolm Danvers
  • Abusive Parents: He was emotionally and physically abusive to Jeremy.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: To his father, Edward Danvers, who he didn't see eye to eye with.
  • Big Bad: Of Savage and Ascension.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Realizing he meant nothing to Clay, who wouldn't hesitate to kill him, caused him to give up his bid for Alpha, and leave Stonehaven and the Pack.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Antonio promised to support him for Alpha after his father's death if he spared Jeremy. He didn't realize Antonio, who didn't like him, would support Jeremy when that time came. Also didn't realize Clay would kill him despite being trained to kill and supporting Jeremy for Alpha.
  • Fantastic Racism: Towards any supernaturals with magical gifts, like Jeremy's mother.
  • Lazy Bum: Not in the traditional sense, as he is willing to hunt and fight for the Pack, to the point of enjoying it, but doesn't have a legal job and refuses to get one to earn an income, instead relying on his father Edward, and later his son Jeremy, for money.
  • Leader Wannabe: Intended to be the Alpha one day, constantly trying to get others to support him.
  • Not Quite Dead: At some point after leaving the Pack, he was picked up by the Nast Cabal.
  • Offing the Offspring: Attempted to do this to Jeremy more than once.
  • Older Than They Look: After he's revealed to be alive, it is stated that the Nast Cabal experimented with cryogenics on him to keep him in peak physical condition, so he looks younger than he really is.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Sees women as merely the vehicle to have children, and is racist, claiming he didn't want a slant-eyed child, to the point his father believes he didn't claim his son because of how he looked. Also prejudiced against supernatural races other than werewolves, the real reason he didn't want to claim his son.
  • A Real Man Is a Killer: His belief in this is one of his issues with Jeremy, who was able to kill, but preferred other methods.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With Jeremy, due to being his father.
  • Tampering with Food and Drink: Does this in an attempt to kill Jeremy, lacing a casserole with sedatives Jeremy uses.
  • This Cannot Be!: When he realized from the look in Clay's eyes that he would kill him, and that the bond he believed they had existed only in his mind, he was horrified, and was unable to say anything.
  • Villain Has a Point: Points out that Dominic died without appointing a successor, and they need a new Alpha before the Mutts hear of this and decide to attack them thinking they are weak. He's doing it to claim the position for himself, but the others acknowledge that he's right.
  • Villain Protagonist: Of the short story Infusion.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Tried to murder his infant son, beat Clay when he first met him, and likely would have killed a teenage Karl if the latter hadn't chosen to run away.
    Peter Myers
  • But Now I Must Go: Knowing the Pack doesn't like him, he leaves after being offered a job on the road.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: When Dominic Sorrentino was the Alpha, due to his father having been a mutt who joined to protect his son. Not the case after Jeremy becomes Alpha.
  • I Owe You My Life: Owes Jeremy his, after Jeremy helps him cover up a murder and gets him back into the Pack. Comes when Jeremy calls. He's also the only werewolf not from one of the original three families (Clay is considered a member of the Danvers family) who picks a side between Jeremy and Malcolm instead of leaving the Pack after Dominic dies.
  • Only Friend: Sees Jeremy Danvers as his before leaving the Pack, he's the only one he decides to say goodbye to before leaving. He's also the one Peter calls when he's in trouble.
    Josef Marsten
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Preferred quiet burglaries, while his son is known for his more daring heists.
  • Neck Snap: How Malcolm killed him.
  • Papa Wolf: Tried to protect his son from Malcolm despite knowing he couldn't fight him. It got him killed.
  • Posthumous Character: Long dead by the time of the series. He's mentioned in "Chaotic" and Personal Demon, and appears in a flashback in "Territorial".
    Dominic Sorrentino
    Gregory Sorrentino
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: When he dies, only his family and Jeremy mourn.
  • Game-Breaking Injury: Suffered a brain injury fighting another werewolf, which Clay believes affected random parts of his long and short term memory. Afterward needed his son nearby to help him, and didn't hunt, or seemingly fight anymore. He is described as having "a slightly unfocused look in his eyes, as if he wasn't quite paying attention" and as "a vague man who never seemed to be fully present".
  • The Load: Doesn't take part in Pack hunts, and not mentioned to do anything for the Pack after his injury. Malcolm even states that Jeremy should give him strychnine instead of treating his injuries.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: His oldest son attempted to get revenge on the one who injured him, and was killed trying to do so.
    Jorge Sorrentino
  • The Dutiful Son: Stayed near his father to see if he needed anything during Pack meets, until his father died.
  • Put on a Bus: Mentioned in Beginnings to have moved to Europe a few years before Elena met Jeremy, and is only seen or mentioned in the prequels, not the main series.
  • The Quiet One: Clay describes him as "a quiet, solemn man who took after his uncle Antonio and grandfather Dominic in looks only".
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With his uncle Antonio and his grandfather Dominic.
    Edward Danvers
  • Abusive Parents: Malcolm notes he isn't proud of his son, and believes he doesn't really care based on the fact that he never shouted at or hit Malcolm. By modern standards, he was ahead of his time, and Malcolm was an Antagonistic Offspring to him.
  • Cool Old Guy: Despite being old, raises Jeremy and protects him until he's able to do things for himself, and manages to restrain Malcolm to a degree, all through diplomacy.
  • The Determinator: Could be ruthless when it came to getting something he wanted, as Malcolm notes he'd find baby Jeremy himself if Malcolm didn't retrieve him.
  • Dirty Coward: In Malcolm's view, as Edward crippled his leg to avoid having to fight for Alpha.
  • Game-Breaking Injury: He crippled his own leg to avoid having to fight for Alpha, and walked with a limp afterward.
  • Good Parents: Not Jeremy's father, but raised him, and Jeremy has many of his mannerisms. Tried to be this for Malcolm, but they didn't get along. Also had a daughter, who he didn't raise, but helped support financially.
  • Hero Antagonist: In the short story Infusion, where he forces Malcolm to obey Pack law and claim his son despite Malcolm not wanting to.
  • Killed Offscreen: Died between Infusion and Savage, most likely of old age.
  • Lesser of Two Evils: Malcolm thinks so, as the only reason he didn't kill him was because Edward's will left everything to the Sorrentino family, and after Jeremy's birth, Jeremy, and he considered asking Dominic for money a worse fate than tolerating his father.
  • Manipulative Bastard: An ambiguous example, and Alternate Character Interpretation is at play here, but he insisted on going with Malcolm to retrieve baby Jeremy, but decided to wait at the hotel for Malcolm to deliver him, only to arrive after Malcolm killed Jeremy's mother and was just about to kill Jeremy. Assuming he followed Malcolm, suspecting what he might do, why did he arrive only in time to save Jeremy?
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Realizes Malcolm is lying about his son dying in childbirth and that he just doesn't want him, but assumes it's because he's part Japanese, not because the mother is another kind of supernatural. To be fair, it's not clear if he knew other supernaturals exist at the time.
  • The Smart Guy: Mentioned to always be poring over books, and described as a thinker, not a fighter by his son Malcolm. Passed this on to Jeremy, and managed to protect him from Malcolm even after his death by rewriting his will to leave everything to his grandson, along with a clause leaving everything to charity and sending incriminating information to the Alpha if Jeremy died or was permanently incapacitated before the age of thirty-five and had no children at the time.
  • Spiteful Will: Left Stonehaven and the family money to the Sorrentino family, and later Jeremy, instead of Malcolm. Though Malcolm, Jeremy and Clay understand this was to prevent Malcolm from killing him for it.
    Ross Werner
  • But Not Too Black: Malcolm mentions in Infusion that Ross' mother was black, but that you could "hardly tell" from looking at Ross.
  • Easily Forgiven: Abandons the Pack rather than pick a side when they are split over who will be the next Alpha. After it is resolved, Jeremy allows him to return without comment.
  • Everyone Has Standards: When he hears Stephen Santos call Gregory Sorrentino a "retard" he points at him and shakes a finger, showing disapproval.
  • Killed Offscreen: Most likely, he's not a member of the Pack anymore by the time Elena joins. As he was around eighty-three when Jeremy became Alpha, it's possible he died of old age.
  • Lovable Coward: Clay describes him as a "fence sitter", who didn't want to offend anyone. He abandons the Pack when they are split between making Jeremy or Malcolm the new Alpha following Dominic's death. After this is resolved, he is allowed back. He also disapproves of calling others retarded.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When the vote is split evenly between Malcolm and Jeremy for the new Alpha, he delays his vote, then flees during the night, knowing it will come to a fight he doesn't want to participate in.
  • Take a Third Option: Instead of supporting Jeremy or Malcolm for Alpha, knowing either will gain someone's ire, he leaves the Pack when no one is looking.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: He isn't seen or mentioned in the main series, leaving it unknown what happened to him. Though he was very old when he was last seen, so it's possible he died of old age.
    Cliff Ward
  • Dirty Coward: Waits until none of the adults are looking to congratulate Stephen Santos on calling Gregory Sorrentino a retard, and only does so by smiling.
  • Mook: One of Malcolm's followers. When introducing Clay to the other adults, Jeremy introduces Cliff last, which Clay understands means he's the lowest ranked adult. After his death, Clay calls him a nonplayer, with no power or position in the Pack.
  • Obviously Evil: Clay thinks so, he describes Cliff as having "an insincere smile and eyes that always darted on contact".
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Approves of Stephen Santos calling Gregory Sorrentino a retard.
    Wally Santos
  • The Dragon: To Malcolm Danvers, while he was part of the Pack. He's stated to have been the Pack's fourth best fighter, behind Dominic, Malcolm and Antonio. He also leads the group Malcolm sends to kill Jeremy during the coup.
  • Evil Redhead: Like his brother and nephews.
  • Instant Expert: Or so he says. He claims his first change wasn't hard.
  • Neck Snap: How Jeremy kills him during the failed coup.
  • Not So Above It All: When Malcolm wants Jeremy killed but Clay alive, but his nephew Stephen wants to kill Clay anyway, he stops him, but tells him they will handle Clay once Malcolm is Alpha.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With his brother and nephews.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Malcolm. Though he does have his own opinion, as stated under Not So Above It All.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: To his family, though it may overlap with Nice Job Fixing It, Villain given their nature. Regardless, the series could have been very different if he'd let his nephew kill Clay immediately.
    Raymond Santos
  • Evil Redhead: Like his brother and sons.
  • Killed Offscreen: Karl Marsten remembers killing him in revenge for his father.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After the deaths of two of his sons and his brother, he leaves the Pack with his last remaining son rather than continue to support Malcolm or join the ones who killed his family.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Outlives his two oldest sons, Stephen and Andrew. He even saw Andrew die.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After Malcolm kills Andrew to prevent him from confessing the plan to kill Jeremy was Malcolm's idea, he grabs Daniel and leaves.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With his brother and sons.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: When Malcolm kills Andrew, he looks briefly enraged, then abandons him, along with Daniel.
  • You Killed My Father: Karl Marsten killed him because he, along with Malcolm and Wally, was in the group that killed his father Josef.
    Stephen Santos
  • Badass Boast: More like Tempting Fate. Claims he could take Jeremy with one hand tied behind his back.
  • Big Brother Mentor: A twisted version. At sixteen, he encourages his seven year old brother Daniel to bully seven year old Clay and rewards him for doing so.
  • The Bully: Insults Jeremy (out of his presence) and Clay, tries to steal Clay's rabbit on a Pack hunt, steals and breaks Nick's radio, threatens Joey, pushes Nick, calls Gregory a retard, and encourages Daniel when he calls Clay a freak.
  • Dirty Coward: Blames Clay for attacking him when the adults find them fighting, and shows fear when he thinks Dominic overheard him call his son a retard.
  • Evil Redhead: Like his uncle, father and brothers.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Furious when Clay and Nick get to sit at the adults' table, and disapproves of Jeremy sitting closer to the Alpha, as it indicates he's higher ranked than his father and uncle.
  • Ironic Echo: Clay gives him one right before killing him, asking if he can't fight Clay with one arm as he claimed he could fight Jeremy. This is after Clay has broken one of his arms.
  • Neck Snap: How Clay kills him, after breaking both his arms.
  • Never My Fault: Blames seven year old Clay for their fight, even though he was insulting Jeremy specifically to get a rise out of the boy.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Calls Clay a retard, a freak and a mutt, and calls Gregory Sorrentino a retard.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With his brothers, father and uncle.
    Andrew Santos
  • The Bully: Like his brothers, Stephen and Daniel. He at one point calls Joey Stillwell stupid for asking if Clay is a werewolf.
  • Dirty Coward: Stated by Clay to be a coward, even when Clay is seemingly knocked out, he smells fear from Andrew. He also shows fear when Jeremy points out that his actions mean he has to be executed. Clay knows the reason he was left to guard him was because if something happened, he'd scream for help first before doing anything else.
  • Evil Redhead: Like his father, uncle and brothers.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Doesn't realize Clay isn't unconscious, and is knocked out as soon as he looks away.
  • He Knows Too Much: Why Malcolm kills him.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: Clay states Andrew gave him less reason to hate him than Stephen and Daniel did.
  • Neck Snap: How Malcolm kills him.
  • Not Worth Killing: Clay thinks this about him when knocking him out, that he's not enough of a threat to warrant killing. Unfortunately (for him), he is a threat in that he can confirm incriminating information...
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With his uncle, father and brothers.
    Daniel Santos
  • Affectionate Nickname: As a child, Stephen calls him "Danny-boy". Inverted later, however, when as an adult, Clay and Nick call him this while mocking him for not having his first change until he was twenty years old.
  • Arch-Enemy: Sees Clay Danvers as his, and tries to emulate him in order to get Elena to be his.
  • Ax-Crazy: He doesn't seem to be right in the head.
  • Big Bad: Of the first book in the series, Bitten.
  • The Bully: Badmouths Nick behind his back to his brothers, calls Clay a freak, and later tells his secret to the adults after Clay and Nick won't let him play with them (because of his bullying them). He was raised to be one. Later inverted after Clay and Nick, as young adults, mock him for not having his first change until he was twenty.
  • Evil Redhead: Like his father, uncle, and brothers.
  • False Friend: Not really, since Nick can see through him, but Nick mentions that when he's nice to Daniel, Daniel would be nice, then say mean things about him when he thinks Nick isn't looking.
  • Freudian Excuse: Raised since birth to believe in Malcolm and to display cruelty and prejudice, and rewarded for doing so. Then lost both one of his brothers and his uncle to the people who he was trying to help overthrow, and the man he was taught to follow killed his other brother. And then he and his father leave behind the only life they ever knew to get away from these people.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Clay believes that if he had been nice to Daniel when they were kids, it would have done nothing to change his behavior later in life.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: To Clay, as he wants Elena simply because she's Clay's love, and even copies his wardrobe to look like Clay's in his pursuit of this.
  • Hero Killer: Is the one who kills Peter in Bitten.
  • The Leader: Of the uprising in Bitten.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Elena considers going with him and having him return the already beaten Clay to the Pack in exchange for Marsten's territory. He realizes he's won, and considers taking the deal. Unfortunately (for him), Leblanc doesn't want to stop killing.
  • Scars Are Forever: Has one of his ears ripped off by Elena. He displays the injury as a badge of honor.
  • Slashed Throat: How he's killed, by Thomas Leblanc.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: With his father, uncle and brothers.
    Thomas Leblanc
  • Arch-Enemy: Sees Elena as his, as she's a woman who broke his wrist and the others laughed at him for it.
  • Evil Has a Bad Sense of Humor: Leaving Logan's body for Elena and Clay to find is believed by Elena to be his idea of a joke.
  • Final Boss: He's one of the last three werewolves in the mutt uprising in Bitten. After he kills Santos, and Marsten has made plans to surrender in exchange for territory, he's the last threat Elena has to deal with. Though since this is only the first book, it may be more accurate to call him the Disc-One Final Boss.
  • Forgot About His Powers: When Elena hunts him down, she notes his only way to save himself is to change. He doesn't, and she even finds him trying to resist the change.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: A serial killer who targets women until recruited by Daniel Santos. Frequently refers to Elena in misogynistic terms. Doubles as Politically Incorrect Villain.
  • More Despicable Minion: Arguably to Santos and absolutely to Marsten. Santos is an insane killer, but his main goal is to get revenge on Clay Danvers in every way possible, and considers stopping the killing once he believes he has gotten this, while Marsten only wants territory to settle in. Leblanc, on the other hand, is a serial killer who enjoys killing women, only joined so he'd be given new ways to kill, and turns on them when they consider stopping.
  • Slashed Throat: Did this to Logan Jonsen and Daniel Santos. A version of this also happens to him, in that Elena, in wolf form, rips his throat out.
  • Team Killer: Kills Daniel Santos when he considers ending the killing early, as he doesn't want this.
  • Turned Against Their Masters: Kills Daniel Santos, who made him a werewolf, and considers doing the same to Karl Marsten.
    Victor Olson
  • Bit Part Bad Guy: Only appears once after being mentioned as bitten by Cain and researched by Elena, and doesn't last long.
  • The Informant: Gives up the location of the mutts in exchange for his life, though Elena lets him die instead.
  • More Despicable Minion: Arguably, given that he's a child rapist and murderer, which none of the other mutts are mentioned to have done.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Is a pedophile who raped five small girls and killed the last one.
    Zachary Cain
  • The Big Guy: Of the mutt uprising in Bitten.
  • Dumb Muscle: What he mainly is to the other mutts.
  • The Informant: Elena, Clay and Antonio capture him and he is interrogated, though doesn't give them too much they don't already know.
  • Neck Snap: How Clay kills him after he has given all the information he can.
  • Stupid Evil: Frequently stated and shown to not be very intelligent. It apparently runs in his family.
    Carl Pritchard
  • The Determinator: Comes looking for Malcolm, and refuses to leave without a fight, even from Jeremy.
  • Dumb Muscle: Strong, but not very bright. He came looking to fight Malcolm, who is very dangerous, and when fighting Jeremy, couldn't adapt his style to counter Jeremy. He also refuses to understand that the fights are stupid when Jeremy explains why, only pointing out that this is how it always was. Also misuses the phrase "throwing down the gauntlet".
  • I Surrender, Suckers: Subverted. After Jeremy beats him he attempts to attack while his back is turned, but Jeremy realizes this and kills him.
  • Neck Snap: How Jeremy kills him.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: His fight with Jeremy and death shows Clay how mutts operate, and inspires him to find out how to handle them.
    Douglas Eaton
    Mark Eaton
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Foolish to his older brother Douglas' Responsible.
  • Mistaken for Gay: By his brother, who confronted him, but promised to keep the secret from their father. He went with it because the truth was worse. Later, his brother figured it out.
  • Neck Snap: How he's killed.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Mark is a pedophile, who has an on-off relationship with a woman who got pregnant in high school, comes after the child of a friend of his brother, and later goes after Kate.

    Lucas Cortez
    Benicio Cortez
    Kristof Nast

  • Broken Pedestal: He bonded with his nephew Sean, following his son Joey's death. However, when he wouldn't let Sean come out as gay, Sean saw him differently.
  • Cool Uncle: Sean sees him as this after his cousin's death. Until Josef won't let him come out as gay.
  • The Coup: After his father's death, he tries to take charge of the Nast Cabal, despite Sean being named as heir, resulting in the cabal being split in two, his side and Sean's.
  • The Dutiful Son: Not that his father admits this. He also tries to get Sean to be like him.
  • Everybody Knew Already: He tells Sean this when his nephew tries to come out to him as gay, telling him everybody important in the family already knows.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: He outlives his son Joey.

    Xavier Reese

Other Supernaturals

    Jamie Vegas

  • Hidden Depths: The first mention of Jamie is as Savannah's favourite TV spiritualist. Paige dismisses her as a fake, only to find out she is actually a necromancer
  • Necromancer: Of the good variety
  • Smitten Teenage Girl: Although not a teenager, she sure acts like this around her crush Jeremy.
    Aaron Darnell
    Cassandra DuCharme
