    The Hosts

Marcus "Dogmeat" Parks

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marcus_parks_745x490_0.jpg
"Don't come at me with that!"

This is a sentence about Marcus Parks. He's the thin one.

  • Berserk Button: Marcus has absolutely no patience for sloppy police work, especially when it allows killers to get away with their crimes far longer than they should have.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He's the most soft-spoken of the main cast, but will deliver brutal criticism of sloppy police work.
  • Birds of a Feather: With Carolina. They're both music and film buffs with an interest in the macabre.
  • Creepy Good: As of December 2016, if you make a recurring $25 donation to the podcast's Patreon page, Marcus will personally mail you a bone fragment from his family's ranch. He and Henry also do a large amount of research on each subject, so reading books with morbid subjects can qualify as one of Marcus's pasttimes. That being said, he appears to be as friendly and approachable as anyone else you might meet.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Marcus Farts, due to being bullied in his childhood.
  • Happily Married: To his wife Carolina.
  • Hillbilly Horrors: His headshot on LPOTL's website has this vibe.
  • The Hyena: He's prone to this quite often, and he has a very distinctive cackle when something is funny enough to him.
  • In-Series Nickname: Starting at around episode 189, Henry bestowed upon Marcus the nickname of "Dogmeat" and it's stuck.
  • The Kirk: Marcus often acts as the moderator or key narrator with regards to the subject of each episode. Because of this, he is neither objective enough to serve as the Super Ego nor can he be the sole source of impulsive and comedic reactions to the subject at hand(the Id.) This all goes entirely out the window when he reads a creepypasta, however.
  • Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: His natural-born Texas accent tends to slip in every now and then, mainly when he's ranting or being incredibly emotional about a specific topic.
  • Our Mages Are Different: Marcus is a practicing Chaos Magician.
  • Southern-Fried Genius: Marcus is from the heart of Texas, and is arguably the most well-read and well-spoken of the trio.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pickles.

Henry "Too Real" Zebrowski

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zebrowski_9.jpg
"Okay, you're thinkin' about it. Don't think about it."

This is a sentence about Henry Zebrowski. He's the short one.

  • Alien Abduction: In his Reddit AMA, Henry mentions that he is obsessed with these, and often has dreams of being abducted.
  • Aren't You Going to Ravish Me?: He still holds a certain amount of resentment at being the only altar boy at his church who wasn’t molested.
  • Big Fun: A short, portly man who is quite jovial with a dark sense of humour.
  • Big Eater: He will walk down entire blocks of New York just to check out new restaurants.
  • Conspiracy Theorist: He considers conspiracy theory to be "a fun way of looking at the world" and occasionally parrots some of the more ridiculous ones as a joke. He does, however, think QAnon is stupid.
  • Drink-Based Characterization: Henry loves whiskey, calling out companies such as Glenlivet Scotch and Garrison Brothers Bourbon by name.
Ben: Are you only drinking free booze?
  • Erudite Stoner: Henry is open about his frequent weed usage, and even encourages listeners to smoke themselves before delving into any topic that is particularly bizarre or esoteric.
  • Happily Married: To his wife Natalie.
  • The Hedonist: He self-describes as a bacchanalian, believing fully in the pleasures of the flesh and living in the moment.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite his Large Ham tendencies, Henry is legitimately very well-read on sci-fi and the occult, and occasionally gives surprisingly profound opinions on criminal psychology.
  • In-Series Nickname: Around the same time that he began to call Marcus "Dogmeat", he began to call himself "Too Real".
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: He's able to whip up a wide variety of voices for different characters.
  • Monster Clown: His headshot on LPOTL's website.
  • No Indoor Voice: Practically everything Henry says will eventually devolve into him shouting.
  • Our Mages Are Different: Like Marcus, Henry is a practicing Chaos Magician.
  • Out with a Bang: Henry frequently jokes that his wife Natalie has agreed to make sure he dies this way.
  • Satan Is Good: Henry often invokes this.
  • The McCoy: Henry is arguably the most energetic, emotional and most tangent-prone of the pair.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Henry is a fan of organ meat and is not shy about it.
Henry: We're the top of the food chain for a reason, baby!

Ed Larson

Replaced Ben Kissel after his departure in October 2023.

    Former Hosts & Staff

Ben Kissel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/14968109224555.jpg
"I think we have a NERD ALERT!"

This is a sentence about Ben Kissel. On October 4, 2023, it was announced that Kissel would no longer be part of the podcast or the Last Podcast Network.

  • Berserk Button:
    • Harm against children is a major sore spot for Ben. As someone who used to work with kids in a YMCA in college, Ben is usually the first to voice his displeasure when children become the victims of various serial killers.
    • Any form of Victim-Blaming or Slut-Shaming will immediately draw Ben's fury, especially when it allows serial killers to escape justice due to the stigma surrounding sexual assault victims.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite being a comedian and CCR mainstay, Ben Kissel ran for Brooklyn Borough President in 2017, getting over 5000 votes, and is surprisingly well-versed in politics.
  • The Comically Serious: Has a deadpan sense of humor which comes out the most when he reads Creepypasta.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: Tends to use out-of-left-field pop culture references, which, combined with his role as The Watson (see below),
  • Drink-Based Characterization: Zig-Zagged. Ben loves Bud Light, but Henry frequently mocks Ben for his love of Bud Light Lime, which he vehemently argues against.
  • Friend to All Children: He used to work with children at a YMCA when he was in college, so Ben's got a soft spot for kids.
  • Green Around the Gills: Most episodes of the podcast's live broadcast companion, Last Stream on the Left, usually feature Kissel reacting in a certain way to something said between Henry and Marcus or just said by Henry.
  • Iconic Outfit: Ben is often seen in promotional material or live LPOTL recordings in a suit jacket and t-shirt combination.
  • Nazi Grandpa: Ben his half-German by ancestry, and his family on his father's side
  • Only Sane Man: Is often positioned as this, reacting with disgust or annoyance to things that Marcus and Henry say.
  • Straight Man: Especially compared to Henry's Wise Guy.
  • The Spock: While he is prone to outbursts, Ben often tends to be the more logical and pragmatic of the three hosts.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Ben is known for his love of Bud Light, often holding it onstage at live shows.
  • The Watson: Intentionally does not delve as deep into the research as Marcus and Henry, allowing him to ask for elaboration on concepts that casual listeners may not know.

Travis Morningstar

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tm.jpg

This is a sentence about Travis Morningstar. He left the Last Podcast Network in December 2021, with the Guys giving him a send-off in Episode 477.

  • Ascended Extra: Travis first appeared in the early days of "Last Stream on the Left" and has since gone on to appear in the LPOTL series "Side Stories" and "Last Stream on the Left" as a producer and occasional talking head.
  • In-Series Nickname: On an episode of 'Last Stream on the Left,' Henry nicknamed Travis "Titties."
