- Memory-Wiping Crew: He very frequently uses his powers to erase inconvenient parts of others' memories.

- The Archmage: He achieves Archmastery of Time partway through the Chronicle.
- Beware the Nice Ones: He's usually pretty easygoing, which makes the times he does put his foot down all the more frightening.
Seers of the Throne
- The Heavy: He kicks off the plot by Taking An Interest in Kali, and much of the plot is spent either reacting to his actions or finding out what he's after.
- A Pupil of Mine Until He Turned to Evil: He used to be one of Beckett's mentees until he defected to the Seers.

- Missing Mom: She starts out as one, and the reasons for her walking out on the family are eventually revealed.
An Exarch who may be the In-Universe inspiration for the Hindu deity of that name.
- The Dreaded: Even Samuel with his new Archmastery doesn't dare to directly confront Shiva's Ochema. Given that the Exarchs usually deploy Ochemata to go Hero Killer on pesky Pentacle Archmages that the Seers can't handle, this is actually very prudent.
