At the end of Season 23, the producers surprised the fanbase by announcing that, just three years and five seasons removed from [[Characters/TheAmazingRaceUnfinishedBusiness Unfinished Business]], they were already doing another All-Star season. The surprise turned to general displeasure when the cast was announced, as they had selected a group of teams even more controversial than the [[Characters/TheAmazingRaceAllStars2007 original All-Stars]], including three teams that had not exactly shined on Unfinished Business[[note]]Margie & Luke and Jet & Cord had both won a leg apiece, but neither had done that well outside of those legs, and Flight Time & Big Easy, though they won two legs and made the Final 3, had annoyed a good portion of the fanbase with their leeching of answers to tasks, and were the only team in the finale that would have caused a [[BrokenBase fanbase fracture]] had they won[[/note]]. The season itself contained a number of issues, including a disappointing course that appeared too easy for returning teams, a boring route that stuck only to Asia and Europe while visiting a lot of countries they visit almost [[OnceASeason every season]] like China, Switzerland, and the UK, an elimination order that was much more predictable than previous All-Star seasons, the teams mostly getting along and keeping to themselves, leading to a definite lack of {{Conflict}} in the first half of the season, and editing issues that left the line between hero and villain a muddled mess. Though Season 24 was far from the series' best entry, it did feature some original and hilarious tasks, and teams did have the competitive edge that was lacking from much of [[Characters/TheAmazingRaceUnfinishedBusiness Unfinished Business]].
