!!Core Cast

A {{Cloudcuckoolander}} who is an [[IdiotHero eager and well-meaning idiot most of the time, but has flashes of heroics]]. He's TheHero, at least a foolish version of one... until several years into the series, when he starts to [[TookALevelInBadass Take A Level in Badass]] every few story arcs and thoroughly claims the title. He's still a goofy badass, though.
* BigEyesLittleEyes: His eyes are bigger than those of the other characters. This fact is often pointed out. Including by him.
* CanNotSpitItOut: Torg's crush on Zoë, which has been going for at least eight years. He did however spit it out to a parallel earth Zoë; [[spoiler:it didn't end well, and he doesn't want to put the home-dimension Zoë at risk.]] Given the survival/sanity records of his girlfriends, not spitting it out is fairly sensible.
** [[spoiler: ''He let her die!'']] Even granted this wasn't his fault, and that he has now metabolized this fear into a damn good rationalization, it's a lovely little justification for this trope.
* CartwrightCurse:
** He personally stakes his wife from a [[{{Reincarnation}} previous life]], Valerie, due to her being a vampire that was endangering his friends.
** He forms a relationship with an AlternateSelf to Zoe in the Dimension of Lame, but she gets murdered by Horribus.
** Him and Zoe are linked by fate, but thanks his previous failures as well as {{Yandere}} Oasis, they both avoid a relationship for some time. Zoe eventually even [[spoiler:suffers brain death shortly after she experiences a LoveEpiphany, but is thankfully brought BackFromTheDead by Riff, albeit with the memories of the epiphany gone]].
* CatchPhrase: "WOH-PAH!" when doing martial arts; "I had a coupon."
* CoolSword: He has a sword that is powered by [[PoweredByAForsakenChild drinking the blood of the innocent]]. When powered up, it grants him the skill of an expert swordsman, can talk, and even slay gods and demons.
%%* CrazyAwesome: Basically any time Torg defeats an enemy before he took his level in badass in "That Which Redeems". A good example is "[[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20050429 Mr. Franklin]]".
* CrazyPrepared: Emphasis on the "crazy". Emergency pants!
** Starting to become a bit more sane, though. [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20101122 Nice contingency plan.]]
* EmbarrassingFirstName: "Torg". And he already plans to carry on the tradition with any children of his own, even though he already anticipates complaining.
* EmbarrassingMiddleName: "Sluggy". No wonder he doesn't mind his first name.
* GeniusDitz: He frequently trades the IdiotBall with Riff and does incredibly stupid things, like making a world ending DealWithTheDevil for beer or blindly following directions to crash his car into a tree trunk. But he is also considered a very effective leader, with his 4U counterpart leading a successful revolt against 4U city, and the prime version initially taking charge of the war against Hereti Corp.
* {{Griefer}}: In the Years of Yarncraft arc, he eventually gets bored with playing the game in the normal way and starts deriving sadistic pleasure by ruining the game for everyone else. This ultimately results in the end of the arc, as each member of the main cast uninstalls their copy of the game in frustration.
* HeelRealization: Meeting [[spoiler:Marco]], a friendly spellcaster who turned out to be a zombie throws his abuse of Zombie Head On A Stick into perspective. While Jane, the person it was created from, was more or less an AssholeVictim, he realizes that he knows nothing of her history or who she was and that zombies are tormented souls, not playthings. After a night of thought, he decides to give her a MercyKill.
* TheHero: Especially after his levelling up in badass.
* HiddenDepths: [[http://archives.sluggy.com/book.php?chapter=6#1998-05-05 Even early in the comic this page implied]] that either Torg had a deep secrets involving his past that resulted in stinted memories or he was just an idiot. The jury's still out on both ideas as Torg is an orphan with a intelligent streak, but acts goofy and often throws self-preservation to the wind.
* IconicOutfit: His plaid shirts, to the point that alternate Torgs from other dimensions are often recognizable solely because they're wearing plaid. [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20041207 Even when they're fish]].
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: More or less his reaction to [[spoiler:ordering Hereti Corp headquarters destroyed, since while Hereti Corp itself is EvilInc, they also have plenty of innocent employees that have no idea what their employers are really doing.]]
* KissOfLife: Attempts to use one to revive [[spoiler:Gwynn when Marco succumbs to his curse and kills her. Due to Torg's incompetence, her ghost mistakes this for making out with her corpse, causing her to bring herself BackFromTheDead out of sheer rage]].
* MadArtist: Occasionally, though not to the extent of his friend Bert.
* MasterSwordsman: When his sword is powered up it makes him this.
* MorphicResonance: Gwynn once cursed Torg by [[BalefulPolymorph turning him into a donkey]], but he still retained his haircut. In a realm of shadows, when Torg refused to face his fears, his appearance became demonic, but even then, he still had the same hairstyle.
* MyParentsAreDead: It is revealed that Torg's parents are dead (and that they made his middle name Sluggy).
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: Pulled this in the latest chapter, refusing to leave Sam if there was even the smallest chance he had survived.
* NorseByNorsewest: Describes himself as "mostly Viking", and was once [[MistakenForTerrorist let out of Guantanamo Bay]] after he [[ReadingsAreOffTheScale broke the scale on their 'Caucasianometer']].
* OnlyOneName: PlayedForLaughs in the "Torg Potter" stories, [[TheUnchosenOne where he's mistaken for "Torg the Lastnameless One"]] (aka the epynomous Torg Potter). He ''does'' have a last name, but it's [[InvokedTrope never revealed]] so nobody finds out he's the wrong person.
* {{Reincarnation}}: He is implied to be this to Lord Torgamus, the ruler of Mercia, a kingdom in the ancient past. Which is why a vampire named Valerie, who had once been said Lord's wife, took interest in him.
* ReincarnationRomance: In a previous life, he was married to a woman named Valerie. He died in a weapon accident. In her grief, Valerie accepted Lysinda's offer to become a vampire. When she and Torg meet eyes with one another for the first time in the current age, they fall in love with one another again instantly. Unfortunately, their relationship ends in tragedy with Torg being forced to stake her due to her attempts to harm his friends.
* TalkingWeapon: See CoolSword.
* [[TookALevelInBadass Took A Correspondence Course In Kickass]]: During the That Which Redeems storyline.
** Getting his hands on a kickass sword during the Stormbreaker arc may have helped.
* UnmovingPlaid: Torg's flannel shirts.

!!'''Riff Tubesox Wildenburg'''

A MadScientist who has been best friends with Torg since their middle school days, and has problems with women. He's TheSmartGuy, with occasional forays into TheBigGuy.
* BadassLongcoat: Usually subverted by Riff, but played very much straight during the climax of "Dangerous Days Ahead".
** Riff's little shopping trip in [[http://www.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=020602 this strip]] hung a big honkin' lampshade on it.
* BatmanGambit: Riff pulls off an epic one at the end of 4U City Red.
* BrandishmentBluff: [[spoiler:Uses this at 4U City on Rammer, an oftentimes HeroAntagonist.]]
* CatchPhrase: "Let me check my notes"; "I'm on a budget here." ; "Dunno" (usually about relationship issues)
* ChickMagnet:
** He has no problems attracting would be girlfriends. The real problem is getting him to settle down and marry one. The one time he thought he loved someone, she turned out to be a mole who had recently received orders to assassinate him.
** In a more humorous sense, one of his inventions temporarily makes him into a literal baby chicken magnet.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: He has these moments. On one occasion he claimed that he had to be hero because he was "union."
* CommanderContrarian: After the BreakingTheFellowship and he is put in charge, he loses all qualms about getting his friends unnecessarily killed to show how much better Torg's leadership is than his own. His callous and impulsive actions eventually result in nearly the entire alliance against Hereti Corp dissolving.
* DespairEventHorizon[=/=]{{Wangst}}: [[spoiler:His actions at the end of "758449" after discovering evidence that His Masterness may very well be his 4U counterpart.]] Which one it falls under is debatable.
** He was already {{Wangst}}ing when he got to 4U, because he [[spoiler:felt responsible for Zoë's death, since he didn't know Oasis can create explosions with her mind, and assumed his experimental prototype was to blame.]]
* DisappearedDad: A world traveler and archaeologist, Riff's father has been alluded to multiple times but had not made a speaking appearance on panel until [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/130514 May 14, 2013]].
* EmbarrassingFirstName: Riffington
* EmbarrassingMiddleName: His middle name, Tubesox.
* FlatEarthAtheist: PlayedForLaughs in a stick figure comic, when he tries to defeat a very real SufficientlyAdvancedAlien with a PuffOfLogic by telling said alien that science disproves gods. The result is a BoltOfDivineRetribution.
* ForScience: Riff's Mad Science.
* GadgeteerGenius: He makes mecha, dimensional transport devices, toasters that can launch toast through the ceiling, and a staple remover with ''a 100 foot range.''
* HereditaryCurse:
** [[spoiler:He is an ordained, meaning that he bears a fragment of Kozoaku's soul. If at any point Kozoaku stole a piece of your soul, a piece of his is left in its place. If the victim has children, then the soul fragment will be passed on to their first born child. Riff's soul fragment is one of the oldest, and originated from his distant ancestor, Lord Symachus, the corrupt Mohkadun God of Justice. This soul fragment is eventually returned to K'Z'K.]]
** [[spoiler:Khronus punished Lord Symachus for his treachery by cursing him with blindness.]] Khronus also ensured that all of his descendants would carry this curse for all time, which is the reason Riff always wears sunglasses. Fortunately for Riff, the curse has been sufficiently diluted that he ''can'' see, his eyes are just extremely sensitive.
* HeroicBSOD: [[spoiler: When he realizes that the dictator ruling the AlternateUniverse he's in is his alternate self]]
** [[spoiler:Well, that's what he thought, at any rate. Turns out his tech was just stolen by [=HeretiCorp=].]]
** [[spoiler:Only to find out later that it really WAS his alt self all along.]]
* JewishAndNerdy: He spends a lot of his time building various machines.
* TheLancer
* MadBomber: His plans ''always'' involve explosives.
* MadScientist: Big time.
* MoralDissonance: He's ''extremely'' dickish to Aylee and Sam, constantly trying to find/make up an excuse to kill either of them. It is all but stated that this is due to paranoia rather then malice, but still...
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: He specializes in weapons, but his projects have included computer graphics, AI, portals, and even happiness drugs.
* ProperlyParanoid: ...Then again, both Aylee and Sam are members of extremely powerful species who ''do'' eat people (though Aylee has evolved beyond that need) and, at times, have become threats due to inability to fully resist their hunger. At the very least, the weapons and gadgets he made out of said paranoia ''have'' saved the group's bacon multiple times.
* TheSparkOfGenius: His inventions make sense to a ''very'' small group of people. Attempts to reproduce them without the direct involvement of Riff or brilliant scientists who have worked with him for years just don't work. Of course, this is mostly just because of Riff's horrible documentation, leaving out what ''he'' perceives to be "no brainers". [[spoiler:Hereti Corp manages to get around this and develop a means of deciphering his work]].
* SunglassesAtNight: He never takes his sunglasses off.
** Hinted (as of Sept 14 2011) to have a reason other than RuleOfCool:
-->'''Torg''': [[spoiler:If the nanites are perfect, why didn't they fix your eyes?]]
** Later revealed to be a genetic condition of some sort that doctors don't even have a name for. His father has the same condition, but to a sufficiently lesser degree that he doesn't always wear his shades. This is ultimately revealed to be a HereditaryCurse from [[spoiler:Khronus on his ancestor, Lord Symachus. The curse in question was intended to leave all of his descendants blind, but it has diluted over the generations to the point that Riff ''can'' see. His eyes simply happen to be very sensitive to light]].
* ThisCannotBe: Riff gets a brief closeup look through Kusari's mask and states with horror that what he saw was impossible.
* TheUnfettered: When Hereti Corp abuses his inventions and he takes command of the war against them, he grows increasingly reckless, determined to stop them at all costs, and loses all qualms about getting his allies unnecessarily killed just to attack them more aggressively.
* VanHelsingHateCrimes: Vampires in general tend to [[FaceMonsterTurn succumb to evil]]. But Sam has largely managed to devote himself to staying good and being a FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire, killing innocents more due to his own natural stupidity rather than vampyric malice. None of this dissuades Riff, who makes repeated attempts to stake Sam and prevent Torg from being friendly with him. He ultimately decides that while Sam needs to be stopped, he doesn't necessarily need to be killed, but his actions against Sam nevertheless result in the end of his friendship with Torg and Zoe.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Riff, the most badass member of the team, is mortally afraid of clowns (Yet still tries dressing as one to calm Aylee down to save his friends from vamps) - oh, and also is afraid of the department of motor vehicles.

!!'''Zoë Bean'''

The [[UnluckyEverydude Unlucky Everygirl]] that ends up constantly involved in everyone else's screwiness. While more capable than most, she's clearly TheChick most of the time.
* ActionSurvivor: She doesn't have a magic sword like Torg, isn't an overarmed badass like Riff, and is definitely not a spellcaster like Gwynn. She is no more capable of fighting than the average person. But she still manages to survive very bad situations through ingenuity and a bit of luck.
* BackFromTheDead: Thanks to Dr. Schlock's manipulations and Oasis's power, she suffers horrible burns. While the {{Nanite}}s of 4U city are able to repair her body, her mind is completely destroyed, leaving her brain-dead. Riff managed to revive her by taking a snapshot from before the incident, effectively restoring her from a backup.
* BaldWomen: For some time. (While changed into a camel, she bit off Gwynn's hair; Gwynn retaliated with a spell that made Zoë lose all of her hair.) however it has FINALLY grown back.
* ButtMonkey: Usually ends up undergoing some ignominy (such as turning into a camel) even when she isn't involved in the latest escapade.
* TheChick
* TheChosenOne: Zoë was foretold to be the "Storm Breaker," who will defeat the demon K'Z'K. [[spoiler: It's 'She will bring about' the defeat of K'Z'K. Thanks to the end of [[WhamEpisode bROKEN]] it seems that she's the catalyst that pushes Torg (and Chaz) closer and closer to the fight with K'Z'K. When Riff's father, a K'Z'K cultist, learns of her identity, he calls her Kozoaku's greatest weakness and tries to murder her for this reason. She eventually defeats K'Z'K by throwing a spell egg to leave him as SealedEvilInACan again.]]
* FateWorseThanDeath:
** Thought to be KilledOffForReal, Zoë is revealed to be alive...unconscious and permanently hooked up to life support. Her body is far too weak for morphine so she spends her conscious hours screaming in pain. The worst part? Her injures are so severe that ''her body will never heal''. [[spoiler:Technology in that city actually ''can'' heal her body, and has. Unfortunately, it didn't have a similar "snapshot" of her mind. She had a perfectly healthy body, but was left as a vegetable. She ultimately got better due to the results of Riff's amazing BatmanGambit. Of course she still had to find a way to explain her apparent death and two year absence.]]
** K'Z'K plans to do this to her as revenge for her squishing his corporeal bug body. He intends to leave her alive as the SoleSurvivor of her spark, making her experience the horror of losing her friends to a torturous death. And ''then'' he plans to do ''even worse''.
* FemmeFatale: Pulled a convincing one to have a group work for the Crushestro alliance
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Way back when she was added as a character on a radio show, Zoe went by the alias "Leslie Bean." The way the character she played was described was to imply that [[{{Pun}} she was a lesbian]]. Years later, it's revealed that, like the hosts from that show, the directors were making a joke about her last name - TheReveal of her last name was years before it was officially confirmed.
* GreenEyedMonster: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20120223 She seems to be getting]] [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20120224 upset with Noogy's attraction to Torg]]. She's also shown some signs of this before she realized (and then forgot) she was in love with Torg.
* InvoluntaryShapeshifting: Her tendency to turn into a camel when a certain magic word is mentioned. How very ''shupid''. *POOF*
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Riff's father, Wilcott Wilden, believes that Torg can't live without her. Wanting to [[spoiler:eliminate the threat she poses to K'Z'K, he tries to MercyKill Torg in addition to murdering Zoe for this reason]].
* LoveEpiphany: Has one while fighting the {{Yandere}} Oasis alongside Riff in his MiniMecha. She realizes that though Torg is a ManChild, he will courageously fight for those he loves, such as herself. She forgets this after dying and being brought BackFromTheDead due to being restored from a backup taken before the said epiphany, but she eventually rediscovers it anyway.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Zoë sometimes dives head-first into the weirdness eagerly.
* OnlyOneName: The first--and so far only--member of the main cast to break from this.
* [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]]: Most of the time, though she will occasionally prove NotSoAboveItAll and also indulge in the craziness or petty violence of her peers.
* WhatDoesSheSeeInHim: Gwynn and Bun-bun's reactions to her relationship with Torg, since she is the OnlySaneWoman and Torg is a GeniusDitz at best, and only when he's holding the SanityBall.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: In some comics she is shown with dark blue hair, though this might just be artistic license. Her counterpart from the Dimension of Lame has purple hair.

One of Riff's ex-girlfriends, who dabbles in magic and has her fate entwined with the sinister [[IncrediblyLamePun Book of E-Ville]]. Often TheLancer, although she has been TheChick on at least one occasion.
* ATragedyOfImpulsiveness: She frequently takes [[DisproportionateRetribution petty]] and/or impulsive actions that she comes to regret later:
** She once made a DealWithTheDevil to kill Riff, getting herself possessed and nearly causing TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt.
** She once rendered Zoe permanently bald with BlackMagic as punishment for biting her hair off after Gwynn turned Zoe into a camel. In order to undo the spell, she ended up having to make a DealWithTheDevil and nearly lost her soul in the process.
** She wore a cursed necklace on a whim, causing a MentalTimeTravel FreakyFridayFlip.
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:Marco loses control to his curse and strangles her to death. Torg attempts [=CPR=]. Her ghost mistakes this for making out with her corpse, enraging her so much that she comes back to life just to give him a GroinKick]].
* BlackMagic: Produces HilarityEnsues more often than threatening TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt. She has theorized that her magic is actually a shard of K'Z'K's power, which is ultimately confirmed.
* BlindWithoutEm: Possibly the biggest exhibitor of the trope in history and makes significant mistakes without her glasses. At one time, she decided to cure her eyesight with a spell, but grew too attached to the monkeys that were required as components to cast it. When her terrible eyesight becomes the biggest obstacle to saving a doomed village, she casts a far more dangerous spell to fix it.
* TheChosenOne: She is a potential, meaning that, [[TheMillstone in theory at least]], she has the capacity to strengthen and protect the Fate Web.
* DarkMagicalGirl: Flirts with this trope but never fully commits.
* DealWithTheDevil:
** She makes one with K'Z'K to [[WomanScorned kill Riff]], nearly causing the EndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt.
** In a fit of rage, she once rendered Zoe permanently bald with a curse. She came to regret it, but was unable to undo the curse herself. So she made another deal with some extremely powerful demonic soul merchants.
* DemonicPossession: Gets possessed by a demon named K'Z'K.
* {{Depower}}: She gained power thanks to the Book of E-ville, and by extension K'Z'K. When K'Z'K finally breaks free, she loses it.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Does this a lot. In fact, it's her biggest defining trait.
* DrowningMySorrows: After Riff and Zoe seemingly get killed, she starts spending a lot of time drunk.
* TheEmpath: After inheriting a spellbook filled with empathic spells from a tragic love interest, she starts focusing her magic studies on them.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: After casting a dangerous spell, she gains perfect eyesight and her pupils turn to diamonds, like Kron and King Farahn's symbol.
* FlatCharacter: Jane calls her this while giving her a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech, believing that Gwynn couldn't possibly have any magic, because magic requires [[EnlightenmentSuperpowers spirituality]] to power it and Gwynn doesn't have any depth.
* GoldDigger: Torg is the one for whom she shows the most disgust, but she has shown an interest in him when he was driving a nice car and when he and Aylee acquired almost a million dollars.
* GroinAttack: Her favourite form of DisproportionateRetribution.
* HeroicBSOD: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/140523 Happens here]] when she has an epiphany on her entire situation and how she fell right into K'Z'K's hands. The friends she made in the past, Scholar Socho and Kron, were doomed before she ever met them, and her actions had no impact beyond giving K'Z'K the opportunity for escape. Realizing that it was AllForNothing, she awaits her impending demise with both [[FaceDeathWithDignity acceptance and despair]].
* ItsAllAboutMe: She is extremely selfish, though she does at least feel guilty thinking about herself this way when [[spoiler:Clonee seemingly goes on a rampage eating everyone.]]
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's petty, self-centered, sardonic and [[DisproportionateRetribution has a tendency to do very nasty things to people for petty sleights]], but also does care about her friends (especially Zoe) and is often genuinely apologetic for her actions when she crosses a line.
* JustAStupidAccent: When she and a Queen of Mohkadun experience a MentalTimeTravel FreakyFridayFlip, they end up in places with different languages, without the usual AliensSpeakingEnglish in play. While her speech patterns are inflexible, the Queen does an excellent job of picking up English. Gwynn on the other hand is portrayed with terrible English grammar to indicate how bad she is at speaking the Mohkadun language.
* TheLoad: Possibly even the TheMillstone. A lot of the problems the cast have had to deal with all came about as a result of her own impulsive and overly vindictive behavior. She is also ignorant of all non-fashion related fields to the point that she doesn't even know about modern plumbing.
* MadnessMantra: She repeatedly states "I have no choice!" when out of other options to avenge Marco before using a DangerousForbiddenTechnique.
* PowersViaPossession: This turns out to have been the nature of her magic all along. When K'Z'K is finally free, her powers are gone.
* RevengeBeforeReason:
** She once summoned a world ending demon just to get revenge on Riff for cheating on her.
** Torg stupidly obeys his malfunctioning mobile's instructions to drive into a tree. Gwynn uses magic at the last second to teleport them to elsewhere. Torg chastises her for using K'Z'K's power, reassuring her that he would have swerved out of the way at the last second. When Gwynn's malfunctioning mobile destroys the steering wheel and brakes, they start crashing into another tree. She refuses his pleas for her to use magic just to spite him.
* ScaryShinyGlasses
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: She develops a romantic interest in Kron, a noble demigod, and later Marco, a friendly spellcaster, for this very reason. Both of them ultimately prove to be doomed.
* SkewedPriorities: After getting grazed by a bullet, the idea of a permanent scar on her face gets a much bigger reaction out of her than the possibility of losing an eye or being paralysed.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: "Gwen", goodness knows why.
* SprintShoes: Inherits them from Marco, allowing her to use SuperSpeed.
* StepfordSmiler: Gwynn gets stranded in a location under a dreadful curse. The curse magnifies hate, killing anyone who cannot keep control of their tempers, burning out their souls, and turning them into monsters. After learning this, Gwynn is forced to put on a happy facade.
* ThinkingOutLoud: After discovering Dunuloa's stash of spell eggs, Gwynn talks to herself about the fact that one of them probably contains a suitable spell for dealing with K'Z'K. K'Z'K proceeds to grab her and {{Lampshade}} how speaking your plans out loud is a bad idea.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A.
* VoodooDoll: After being enraged by Riff cheating on her, she tortures him with one of these.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: She's accidentally AND intentionally caused a '''lot''' of problems for the cast with her magic, she's petty and vindictive, she's tried to ''kill'' some of them in the past (Riff by demon-summoning, and Torg via a fork to the head), and she's a very [[{{Jerkass}} unpleasant person]] a lot of the time. It's a wonder how she's still part of their circle.
* WomanScorned: After Riff tries to cheat on her, she starts dabbling into BlackMagic and torments Riff with hexes. Eventually, she even tries to kill him by summoning a demon and almost ends up causing TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt.

!!'''Bun-bun/[[spoiler:Sluggy, God of Power]]'''

A miniature talking and very evil lop-eared bunny which might be the most dangerous force in the universe. Very violent and short-tempered, though perfectly controlled if he needs to be. Quite possibly the smallest [[TheBigGuy Big Guy]] ever to reach his level of badassitude. Eventually revealed to be the Mohkadun god of power.
* AmnesiacGod: Bun-bun has a mysterious past that he himself can remember little of, thanks to the fact that he got into a fight with his future self and got hit hard in the head. Gwynn experiences a MentalTimeTravel FreakyFridayFlip, and ends up in an ancient civilization with statues dedicated to the gods. One of them is the God of Power, Sluggy, who is ultimately confirmed to be Bun-bun. After getting into a fight with his future self and receiving a nasty hit to the head, Bun-bun forgot his past. Bun-bun has thus far had little access to his god magic, such as VoluntaryShapeshifting, but he ''is'' incredibly tough and has survived things he really shouldn't have.
** When the Wayang Kulit confronted Bun-bun with his greatest fear, they showed him the death of his mother. And now, the weapon that did it has resurfaced.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of power and strength. During the Holiday Wars arc, he briefly became the personification of several major holidays, which warped reality in various ways, such as replacing Thanksgiving turkeys with rabbits.
* ArchEnemy: With Santa, against whom he carries an ancient grudge and wants to see dead.
* TheBigGuy: In a small package he may be. But, Bun-bun packs a wallop that's well above his weight-class. And, he has claws on four paws, a flick-knife, a flame-thrower if he can get it, a BloodKnight attitude... and teeth.
* CantGetInTroubleForNuthin: Bun-bun can escape punishment, and get Torg in trouble, by wearing a Torg costume.
* CatchPhrase: "Time to die, Nerd-Boy!" and similar, along with his switchblade's distinctive 'ka-click!' sound effect.
* CharacterTic: His habit of cleaning himself whenever he gets bored with a conversation with anyone.
* ChefOfIron: He occasionally kills his enemies by cooking them.
* TheChosenOne: Though not stated to be a "potential", he ''is'' at the center of Tempest's plan to gather all of them and oppose K'Z'K. And possibly to [[spoiler:[[OmnicidalManiac destroy the world]]]].
* TheExile:
** Along with every single one of the other Mohkadun gods, Khronus casts him out. In his case, he is literally and quite unceremoniously given the boot, aimed at The Krig just to add insult to injury.
** He has been thrown into Timeless Space. Twice.
* FluffyTheTerrible: "Bun-bun" doesn't exactly scream "run for the hills" until you get to know him a bit.
* FreudianExcuse: [[spoiler:Bun-bun's mother was butchered right in front of him, and he was unable to protect or control her. This is why Bun-bun shuts everyone out. He strikes everyone out of anger for his failure to do anything about it.]]
* {{Hammerspace}}: Where he keeps his switchblade. On one occasion he {{Lampshade}}s it, when fighting against Oasis who also carries a limitless supply of weaponry.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: When he's not an outright antagonist.
* [[ImplacableMan Implacable Bunny]]: So far, he's been eaten alive, blown up so hard it destroyed the building he was standing in, thrown out of the time stream itself twice, and burned to a crisp. After that last one, he threw the animal services guy who tried to put him down out a window and is back at full strength, though it did take some time for his fur to grow back (and as he showed Zoë, his face under his fur still has burn scars).
* InterspeciesRomance: Is somewhat disturbingly attracted to human women.
** There was also that bit with him and the sugarplum fairy.
* IWasJustPassingThrough: In the beginning, Bun-bun only ever helped for violent fun, or because his own selfish motivations coincided, and would gladly abandon the heroes to their doom the moment it was convenient. But as time goes on, his alleged motivations seem more and more like an excuse. In time, he eventually becomes a full fledged, if rather mean part of the team.
* KarmaHoudini: None of the main cast is strong or brave enough to attempt to punish Bun-bun for his ''many'' crimes.
* KillerRabbit: Literally.
* MadLibsCatchPhrase: He's called other characters 'Nerd-X' or 'X-Boy', such as in ''Oceans Unmoving'' calling Crazy Carver 'Nerd-Goat' and Calix 'Leaf-Boy'.
* MaliciousMisnaming: Almost always refers to Torg as 'Nerd-Boy' (though he has used his real name a handful of times). Also often refers to Zoë and indeed any woman as 'toots'.
* MysteriousPast: There's still a lot we don't know about Bun-bun's origins. All we know is that [[spoiler:he originally came from a far earlier century, he was feuding with Santa back then as well, and his actions in his original era necessitated the use of the first Deus Ex Ovum and his original ejection from time.]] It isn't until the Mohkadun arc that his story is finally revealed.
* [[OlderThanTheyLook Older Than He Looks?]]: Speculated in-universe and ultimately confirmed. [[spoiler:Basphomy's conversation with Mrs. Claus regarding the second Deus Ex Ovum suggests that the point in time that Bun-bun was ''originally'' thrown out of was centuries ago, and that he ended up in the modern era due to returning to a different point in time when he left Timeless Space the first time. There's also a [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/130418 statue that looks very much like him]] in the ancient kingdom of Mokhadun that seems to be the God of Power, Sluggy]].
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: [[spoiler:Thanks to a StableTimeLoop, Gwynn, in Queen Siphaniana's body, recognizes Sluggy as Bun-bun and calls him by that name. Uncle Time is quick to pick it up, since it makes him sound adorably harmless. By the present era, thanks to amnesia, Bun-bun remembers little of his past, or the fact that he was ever called anything other than Bun-bun.]]
* OtherMeAnnoysMe: At one point, Bun-bun gets trapped in Timeless Space. Though suffering from amnesia, he vaguely remembers that he has been trapped there before and searches for his past self to see how he got out. Knowing that he would suspect any rabbit claiming to be his future self to be part of a set-up, he doesn't reveal himself to his younger self, pretending to be a robot. His younger self causes him so much trouble, that Bun-bun finds it difficult to avoid ''killing'' him, [[GrandfatherParadox which would obviously be bad]] and ends up causing the amnesia he was struck with in the first place. When he finally gets what he wants and is free of Timeless Space, he beats his younger self up out of frustration and admits that ''anyone'' can only stand him so long.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: His approach to telemarketers.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: If Bun-bun tells you to let him sleep, '''[[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/120503 them you let him sleep]]'''!
* RefugeInAudacity: Bun-bun's attitude, e.g. in one early strip, his "pirate crew" (consisting of Kiki and a little girl) is drowning, so after musing that he can't really be a pirate captain without a crew... he throws his hat away and rows off to start a black market drugs ring in Tijuana instead.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Why many people tend to (terminally) underestimate him.
* SentimentalDrunk: When drunk, Bun-bun is quite friendly, which surprises people who are used to his generally hateful and violent demeanor.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Because the comic usually uses all caps, people tend to assume his name is capitalised as "Bun-Bun". Things like sub-chapter titles reveal it's actually "Bun-bun".
* SuperSpeed: Even without holiday powers, his speed is incredible, possibly due to what little is left of his divinity. ''With'' holiday powers, he can produce TimeStandsStill.
* TalkingAnimal: Death threats, insults and sexual innuendo count as "talking", right?
* TokenEvilTeammate: ''Ohhhh'' yeah.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Alfalfa Hay.
* WorfEffect: His very few defeats were caused mainly by this trope.

Riff's pet talking ferret, who has a habit of being [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny easily distracted]] and naively willing to touch anything shiny. Kind-hearted, but [[TheDitz very foolish]], and quite clearly the TeamPet.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: She's a ferret. What do you expect?
* CatchPhrase: "Stay good <NAME>, stay good!"
* ChocolateFrostedSugarBombs: Don't feed the ferret these. [[ICantBelieveItsNotHeroin Just. Don't.]]
* GenkiGirl: Hell, yeah.
* TalkingAnimal: And, singing. And, dancing.
* WhatDoesThisButtonDo: If she asks this or comments on all the pretty buttons and the flashing lights, duck for cover.

Fish out of water {{shapeshifting}} alien, that came from an early parody of ''Franchise/{{Alien}}'' and ''Franchise/StarTrek'' and stuck around. Reserve [[TheBigGuy Big Guy]], [[TheLancer Lancer]], TeamPet varying depending on her form(occasionally changes forms [[InvoluntaryShapeshifting involuntarily]] to adapt to her environment) and the other characters present. Is personality wise a kind of GeniusDitz due to balance between her naivety and her predatory cunning.
* AlienBlood: In her first form, it's revealed that she has orange juice for blood, and apparently it's the pulpy kind. Though this has probably changed along with her change in forms.
* DeadAllAlong: One of her forms was, for all intents and purposes, undead, but she grew out of it with her next form.
* ExtremeOmnivore: Her red dragon form, which ate just about everything ''but'' what would traditionally be considered food.
* GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/980605 Two]] notable forms Aylee has used.
* HealingFactor: In her initial "Xenomorph" form, she can recover from any injury that doesn't immediately kill her.
* HumanityEnsues: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/070919 As of her transformation in 2007, she's still covered in green scales, but she's roughly humanoid]], has hair on her head, and can be passed off as human with sufficient makeup.
* ImAHumanitarian: When she was introduced, she ate an entire spaceship crew, minus Torg and Riff. After she wound up on Earth, she kept eating people, although it wasn't treated as seriously as it probably should have been. She eventually kicked the habit, and the forms she has adopted after that have tended to be herbivorous or similar.
* InvoluntaryShapeshifting: She tends to shift forms to adapt to her environment, but has absolutely no control over it.
* SamusIsAGirl: Her initial form lacked even TertiarySexualCharacteristics (as have most of the others), so it was kind of AmbiguousGender at first. Cleared up pretty quickly after she got a speaking part.
* ShockandAwe: One of her shapes has this in the form of a EMP blast.
* TalkingAnimal: Some of her forms.
* TheVoiceless: After bROKEN, she was stuck recovering from a neck injury delivered by Oasis.
* WingPull: Most of Aylee's forms are capable of flight, even when it's not immediately obvious.

!!Recurring Cast

!!'''Sam Sein'''

Formerly the cast's neighbor at the apartment complex, now a vampire WalkingTheEarth. He is the former owner of Kiki and still feels very protective of her. Has a crush on Zoë. Must steer clear of Riff, who tries to stake him whenever he spots him. His last name was shown in the sci-fi adventure, "Get Me A Proctologist".
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Though has naturally got a lot paler since becoming a vampire.
* CasanovaWannabe
* CatchPhrase: "Sam's Da Man!"
* DistractedByTheSexy: [[http://sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20130604 And at the worst possible time]]
* EatenAlive: Well, technically undead, but [[spoiler:a demon named Agent N'aaaw literally bites his face off and eats most of him, leaving nothing but his head and ribcage. Nevertheless, Sam was able to recover even from that after an extended delay.]]
* TheFool: More often than not, he always gets out of trouble no worse for wear despite, or often because of, his complete stupidity. The most notable example is when he accidentally led some vampires who were chasing him into a vampire hunters convention.
* FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire: He's dedicated himself to "staying good" as a vamp and has saved the crew numerous times. Of course, he'll still gleefully drain non-lethal amounts of blood from hypnotized women and has become a threat to the group when his vampiric hunger overwhelms him.
* LastOfHisKind: The last Vorpyr vampire, and by extension, the last of the Lysinda Circle. Though as he's the last he has decided to rename the circle the 'Sam Cirkail Mamajama'. [[spoiler:Though he technically turns out to be 3rd to last, as Riff forgot to pull one of the vampires he staked out into the sunlight to finish her off and another was in hiding.]]
* MindManipulation: Though hilariously it works for everything except trying to make women find him attractive.
* MonsterLord: Having impressed her by successfully escaping the designs of all three vampire types, Urja decides to crown him as the new King of Vampires in order to oppose the Strakoistrat vampires. Though his apparent stupidity ultimately annoys her into keeping him under a tight leash.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: He will often play up his own stupidity to trick people. Once he owed Bun-Bun any favor he asked for and so he acted annoying until the rabbit told him to leave. He took this as the one favor and called it even. Also, [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/101208 Sam can]] plan [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/101209 ahead somewhat]] and lie about it to protect his friends.
* PapaWolf: Don't mess with Kiki. He'll even go after Bun-Bun if he tries to hurt her.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Oh he's a hero, there's no doubt about that, but he will often screw up spectacularly, rending his heroics moot. Despite that he will act like an action hero deserving praise.
* SuperLoser: He may have the power of a vampire, but he's still the same sleazy, dim, lovable loser he was in life.
* ThirdPersonPerson: Sam's da man! (Though he doesn't always do this - just when he's trying to [[CasanovaWannabe charm the ladies]].)
* WhatTheHellHero: Gives a good one to Riff. Twice he saved the man's life and both times Riff tried to kill him afterwards. He excuses it because Riff has been taking good care of Kiki.

A powerful magic sword from the Never dimension that has the power to kill demons and gods. It was originally owned by Satan, and is currently held by Torg.
* BlackSwordsAreBetter: It becomes an ominous black when it gets activated by the power of blood.
* CoolSword: Chaz is a magical talking sword.
* DeadpanSnarker
* ImmuneToFate: The sword exists outside the Web of Fate and can thus kill even those who are protected by it. It also bestows the same quality upon its wielder.
* MadeOfIndestructium: Not even the TopGod, Khronus, can destroy it.
* OneHitKill: A single scratch is enough to kill even the most powerful beings in the setting, regardless of their defences. The Demon King of the Dimension of Pain is the only entity in the entire story that has ever survived, and even he was permanently crippled.
* PhraseCatcher: Whenever an otherwise NighInvulnerable spiritual being is harmed by Chaz, expect the phrase "What '''is''' that blade?" to be uttered.
* PictorialSpeechBubble: When it was first used to kill [[spoiler:Kron]], its speech bubbles consisted of pictures.
* PoweredByAForsakenChild: The sword doesn't consider itself to be either good or evil, but it ''does'' require the blood of the innocent to power it. Blood ''can'' be donated willingly, but it has almost never been so in practice. It has almost always been taken from the corpses of those already dead, or even by killing them directly.
* SoulCuttingBlade: Their ultimate fate is still unclear, but it is even capable of "killing" entirely spiritual beings.
-->'''Torg:''' Chaz, what happens to spirits when you "kill" them?\\
'''Chaz:''' They have no idea.
* TalkingWeapon: The sword is sentient, and when its powers are unlocked by the blood, it is able to speak.
* UpgradeArtifact: Even when not powered up by blood, it can enhance its owner's skill in swordplay.

One of Riff's girlfriends who eagerly dove into the madness that was the cast's lives. Although her stay on the strip was relatively brief (less than two years), she is very much a [[EnsembleDarkhorse fan favorite]].
* ArcNumber: She was often shown wearing a '3' shirt or drinking out of a '3' mug, and in one of Gwynn's visions in "The Bug, the Witch and the Robot", Riff was shown juggling (or being juggled by) three pins with numbers on. Fans speculated this was something to do with Sasha being one of three possible romantic partners for Riff. [[spoiler:Instead, it was eventually revealed that it was foreshadowing that Sasha, or rather Kusari, has three bodies at once]].
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She certainly seems very friendly and never gives a complaint, to the point that one man describes her as a saint. [[spoiler:But she has actually been working with Hereti-Corp the whole time, spying on her would be friends and lovers for them. Her true personality does not have her acting persona's perpetual smile on her face]].
* CommonalityConnection: She is a self described tinkerer, which helps her interactions with Riff since she's able to add improvements to his inventions. [[spoiler:In truth, she has no engineering skills whatsoever. Bunbun speculates that Hereti Corp's R&D sent her their own modifications to Riff's designs and had her claim the credit to foster a bond. She later confirms this to Riff when trying to win back his trust]].
* ConflictingLoyalty: [[spoiler:[[TheMole Her loyalties are ultimately to Hereti Corp]], but she does seem to feel some regrets towards her would be friends.]] She finally [[spoiler: tells Riff that she really does love him and wants to make amends.]] Only to [[spoiler:betray his trust again by putting a tracer on him. Regardless of her own feelings, she is literally programmed to obey the CEO of Hereti Corp. But when Schlock is out of contact, she manages to use LoopholeAbuse to avoid killing Riff.]]
* DoubleReverseQuadrupleAgent
* GadgeteerGenius: With a dash of WrenchWench, [[spoiler:supposedly. Turns out that was just a cover story to get technology out of Riff and send it back to Hereti Corp. Anything she supposedly designed was actually created by Hereti Corp's R&D and sent back to her to reinforce her cover.]]
* HoneyTrap:
** [[spoiler:When Hereti Corp discovered that Riff, who was one of their freelancers at the time, was more valuable than they had previously realized, they sent her to act as his girlfriend and keep a closer tab on him. Where Riff grows apart from most girls, he actually came to believe he loved her, only for her to attempt to assassinate him on Dr. Schlock's orders.]]
** [[spoiler:She (or rather one of her other bodies) also fakes a relationship with a man named Tommy, even to the point of being married for five years. She leaves him when Hereti Corp successfully out-lobbies the senator Tommy was working for.]]
* TheMole: Torg was effectively using her to spy on Hereti-Corp for him. [[spoiler:Turns out all this time, she had been working for Hereti-Corp and was spying on ''him''.]]
* OhCrap: [[spoiler:These are literally her last words before Oasis slits the throat of her final surviving body. ("Final" in the sense of their current location.)]]
* PhraseCatcher: "Weird girl, Sasha."
* PutOnABus: She was introduced around Halloween of 2000 and moved away back in [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20020822 2002]]. She returned in [[spoiler:[[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20090810 2009]], when the main cast of characters wound up with a couple vacant spots.]]
* TheReveal: She's the subject of at least three: all of the [[spoiler:Hereti Corp spy stuff already listed above]], that she's been [[spoiler: Kusari all along]] and ''then'' the fact that she's [[spoiler: a construct like Oasis, except that she simultaneously occupies several identical bodies; it's not clear yet how exactly this last setup works.]]
* SixthRanger: While technically filling in for Riff as TheLancer, she may end up in this role now that everyone has returned.
* SixthRangerTraitor: [[spoiler:Nope! She's been working for [[BigBad Hereti-Corp]] [[EvilAllAlong all along.]]]]
* TheStoic: Almost nothing bothers her.
* ThanatosGambit: [[spoiler:She literally sacrifices herself on Hereti Corp's behalf by confronting Oasis. She inevitably gets herself killed, but successfully plants a TrackingDevice on Oasis in the process.]] Except [[spoiler: as noted above under The Reveal, sacrificing one of her bodies isn't really a death at all for her.]]

Introduced as Torg's crotch-obsessed artist friend, he later moved into Brie Meighsaton House with the gang. He was badly wounded in the first "KITTEN" storyline and had to have a crotch transplant from a baboon, then was killed in "KITTEN II". However, his ghost remained tied to the house and he remained a character until the ghosts were released at the end of "Kesandru's Well".
* CatchPhrase: "My WORLD is a crotch!"
* {{Crossdresser}}: Implied [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20010926 here]].
* {{Flanderisation}}: In [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/19990430 his first appearance]] he spoke normally and calmly to Torg at first, whereas later on he would be treated as angrily shouting ''everything''.
* KilledOffForReal: Happen both to sluggy prime and to Dimension of lame version.
* LaResistance: His AlternateUniverse counterpart from the Dimension of Lame started a food-fighting resistance and spoke with a French accent.
* MixAndMatchCritters: After his crotch transplant was apparently baboon from the waist down. Riff and Torg caught a glimpse of him naked after the "clothes-eating evil-moths" incident and initially thought he was wearing 'the bottom half of a [[StarWars Wookiee costume]]' before [[{{Squick}} realising the reality]].
* NiceHat: A beret.
* TheThingThatWouldNotLeave: Variation; at one point he ''says'' he's moving out of Brie Meighsaton House and stops paying rent, but as the others note, he doesn't actually stop hanging around the house.
* TrueArtIsIncomprehensible: Takes this attitude.[[invoked]]
* VerbalTic: "Crotch" and "Bah!" His ghost talked almost ''entirely'' in these due to some kind of verbal impediment (his actual thoughts are shown as being more erudite). Also using 'knave' as an insult.

'''Dr. Irving Schlock'''

A time traveler from an alternate timeline where K'Z'K took over the world. Originally a scientist who worked in the same lab as Dr. Crabtree, Dr. Schlock first appeared as a walk-on character administering cosmetic tests on Bun-bun, where it appears he lost his left eye and now has to wear an eye patch (comfirmed in a Broken chapter when he faces Frog without his eyeglasses), He is an expert in inflatable technology and alternates between a cowardly AntiHero and (mostly) (sym)pathetic villain.
* ArchEnemy: With Riff, who he considers to be the greatest threat to himself personally. They once considered one another friends, but then Schlock stole Riff's inventions to do very unethical things with them. He is now going all out to kill him because he knows Riff's MadScientist expertise in his own inventions poses a serious threat to his plans.
* BadFuture: Originates from one that was averted in part due to his efforts. [[spoiler:And now seems to be sending the world on a path to a different one]].
* BigBad: Pretty much evolved to this position after [[spoiler:taking over Hereti-Corp]], though he is also sharing the position and in conflict with an even more sinister BigBad, K'Z'K.
* ChekhovsGunman: Started off as TheChewToy for an early Sunday strip where he was constantly put through abuse by Bun-Bun. A few years later, he, or a version of him from a BadFuture, became a recurring character, and then he eventually [[spoiler:became the BigBad]].
* CorneredRattlesnake: As [[spoiler:his HeroicBastard son]], Agent Rammer puts it, whenever he is backed into a corner, he ''always'' pulls through. His most brilliant exploits usually come when he can no longer flee.
* DirtyCoward: He is a quivering coward that will not hesitate to sacrifice the main cast to increase the odds of his survival even slightly. In fact, his paranoia is so strong, that he ultimately aims to [[spoiler:banish most of Earth's population to other dimensions with a series of {{Kill Sat}}s in order to reduce it to something he can control, and therefore eliminate all possibility of anyone killing him]].
* DirtyOldMan: Gwynn DEFINITELY thinks so.
* GadgeteerGenius
* HairTodayGoneTomorrow: First introduced in the present [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/19971109 with brown hair and beard]], briefly glimpsed in the BadFuture [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/19990207 as bald but still with a brown beard]], and chronologically later on time travelled back to the present [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/990616 in his most familiar form, bald with a white beard]].
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: He is frequently either ForcedIntoEvil or even intentionally antagonizes people out of paranoid fear for his own safety, but he also ends up helping the heroes quite a lot and ending up in alliances with them against mutual enemies.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: He becomes one with frog, the only being in the world that he actually trusts and is quite fond of.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: [[spoiler:He ''does'' regret all the needless killing he has been involved in, but thanks to his incredible paranoia, he is willing to do ''anything'' to keep himself safe]].
* IdiotBall: His paranoia and genius both show massive, gaping blind spots when it comes to realizing that Kusari has gone rogue on him.
* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: He has done many evil things in the past - some of which can be excused due to being forced by people or situations, but when he [[spoiler:murders Feng in live video broadcast to Oasis]], that's when he seals the deal. He even knows it himself. And it's only due to events outside his control that he didn't go further. Torg himself considers Schlock to be unredeemable after learning that his orders resulted in the death of [[spoiler:his own son, Agent Rammer, though to be fair, Schlock had no idea of their relation]]. Schlock starts out disgusted at Kusari's LackOfEmpathy, but eventually comes to find it hilarious.
* KickTheDog:
** [[spoiler:He has Oasis's teacher, Feng, murdered in an attempt to make a point to Oasis.]]
** [[spoiler:He tries to arrange Zoe and Riff's deaths to prevent them from interfering in his plans. Riff survives, but Zoe does not. Thankfully, they end up in an AlternateUniverse so advanced that Riff is eventually able to bring her back.]]
** [[spoiler:His paranoia is so powerful, that he plans to create a thoroughly dystopian city and use a KillSat against every part of the world he can't conquer to prevent any risk of anyone killing him.]]
* LastNameBasis: Almost everyone just calls him Schlock.
* LastSecondChance: Torg tries to give him one and is about to warn him that the digbots are ready to take their {{Revenge}} if he doesn't back down and compromise. But Schlock only sees victory right within his grasp and rejects it, choosing to try killing his former friends.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Through a long series of backroom deals, he managed to take over Hereti-Corp in secret and is making more progress in their domination goal than the old management ever did.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: He specializes in inflatable tech, but he also knows how to build time machines, {{Nanomachines}}, AI, and portals.
* PragmaticVillain: When his paranoia isn't too badly out of control, he tends to be a lot more effective and pragmatic than other villains. [[spoiler:This is a big contrast with Daedelus, a CardCarryingVillain who was his predecessor in controlling Hereti Corp]].
* ProperlyParanoid: His defining trait. He is extremely paranoid and leaves balloon doubles of himself all over. But not without good reason, as there have been a great number of bad guys that want to kill him. His paranoia is the only reason he is even still alive. Unfortunately, the efforts to which he is willing to go to protect himself can get out of hand.
* ProtagonistJourneyToVillain: He started out as a WellIntentionedExtremist who was hoping to prevent the BadFuture he came from and who served as an occasional, if reluctant, ally to the main cast. He always had his own agenda, though, and if he wasn't being forced to work for his enemies, then he was trying to avoid being killed by them. [[spoiler:His attempts to preserve his own life led to him taking over Hereti-Corp. Now his enemies include his competitors all over the world and anyone else he suspects of conspiring against him, the main cast included. And now, he is no longer merely trying to preserve his life, but actively attempting to TakeOverTheWorld]]
* RemoteBody: Repeatedly escapes assassination or kidnap attempts through the use of inflatable decoys he can control.
* ScarsAreForever: Bun-bun blinded him in one eye in his first appearance and Dr Schlock has appeared ever after with a black lens in his glasses. [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20040912 His Dimension of Lame counterpart]] has two good eyes due to the nonviolence of that dimension, [[spoiler:while his 4U City counterpart has his eye repaired by the nanites]].
* SetRightWhatOnceWentWrong: He sent back Berk to do this, then went back himself just to escape a BadFuture.
* TakeOverTheWorld: After ensuring his own safety, this becomes his main motive.
* WasItReallyWorthIt: [[spoiler:Seems to be wondering this at the end of bROKEN.]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He has been running from threat after threat for his entire life and become extremely paranoid because of this. Ultimately, he is only trying to get enough power to make his enemies disappear so he can finally live in peace, but the extent to which he is willing to go to accomplish this has killed many innocents and endangers the entire world.
* WildCard: He regularly alternates between being an ally and enemy of the main cast.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: After he considers himself on the brink of victory, he orders many of his own executives assassinated.

A young woman mind controlled by a MadScientist named Dr. Steve Hereti. Has a tendency to come back from the dead and is very much in love with Torg.
* AntiVillain[=/=]AntiHero: Even as a murderous antagonist, she's a pretty sad and pathetic case rather than evil; but when rarely she's a protagonist, she's still pretty murderous.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Many people think she is a RobotGirl, and Dr. Steve Hereti, one of the few people to know what she truly is, claims that she is an artificial mind he created, designed to obey his orders and made human. Her orders tend to be obeyed rather literally, she once got caught in a recursion with conflicting orders, and her AlternateSelf in another world was somehow associated with an artificially intelligent supercomputer. On the other hand, an Orsintos scientist claims that no one made her special but God. Oasis believes herself to be human, and simply brainwashed by some sort of machine. [[spoiler:It is ultimately revealed that her bodies are clones, and her mind is an artificial intelligence.]]
* ArtificialHuman: Steve claims that she is an artificial mind made human. [[spoiler:There is also a special facility which is responsible for creating her bodies, which are younger clones of a spellcaster named Sin'thea La'mort.]]
* AxCrazy: Let's put it this way - when Torg said he loved chocolate ice cream, she proceeded to kill the chocolate ice cream. Much to the surprise and consternation of everyone present.
* BackFromTheDead: Many, many times. It's become somewhat of a RunningGag that any arc that features her will see her die once.
* BerserkButton: Two. Anybody she sees as a rival for Torg's affections, and anyone associated with [=HeretiCorp=]
** "Override B-1!"
* BodySurf: While later disproven, Oasis once speculated that she might be some sort of spirit of vengeance, taking other people's bodies and using TransformationOfThePossessed.
* ChronicVillainy: Several of her arcs involve her trying to get some measure of control over herself and even try to become a better person, but invariably either Hereti-Corp's interference, her own incurably insane obsession with Torg, or simply her naturally brutal nature cause her to be unable to.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Clingy, and violently jealous, as demonstrated by the ice cream incident.
* CreepyChild:
** I mean, just [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/060917 look at her]]! When the Orsintos scientists made her too angry, she burned down the building and killed quite a few of them.
** Her caretaker at an orphanage attempted to put her to bed. Oasis responded by throwing a pencil at her. In a MillionToOneChance, it pierced very close to a major artery in such a way that removing it would kill her, resulting in a permanent inconvenience with said pencil always sticking out of her leg. Said caretaker then realized that Oasis could kill her whenever she wanted to and deliberately caused this as a warning.
* DeathSeeker: Implies this to one of her victims, telling him that while he is dead, at least he ''can'' die.
* DrivingQuestion: What ''is'' Oasis? It doesn't drive the entire plot, but it remains one of the story's greatest mysteries.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: She may be an extremely violent, borderline sociopath, but she does care for her dead sensei, Feng, as well as her adoptive mother and sister, the Zalias, who were held hostage by Hereti Corp.
* FreakOut: Her personality and sanity change whenever she is subjected to trauma, such as death, nasty hits to the head, jealousy towards Zoe, and loss of loved ones. The latter two tend to result in insanity.
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: Whatever her true nature is, she is ultimately controlled by some sort of computer. But it would seem Dr. Steve actually intended for her to develop her potential beyond simply obeying his orders and become her own person. [[spoiler:Shortly after Schlock reveals that she is actually a KillSat, she becomes able to disobey orders given via her control watch.]]
* {{Hammerspace}}: She has an apparently limitless supply of throwing knives. {{Lampshade}}d by Bun-bun. She does however need access to her pockets for them to appear.
* HealingFactor: One doctor says she has an incredible immune system and healing factor.
* HoneyTrap: One of the tactics she uses when setting up marks she plans to rob to support her adoptive family.
* ImmuneToFate: She is outside of the Fate Web and cannot be directly influenced by it, making her pose a serious threat to existence since the Fate Web was created to subtly manipulate events as a safeguard.
* {{Invisibility}}: [[spoiler:Oasis's true body is an orbital satellite with a "techno-refraction-cloak", rendering her invisible.]]
* KickTheSonOfABitch: Her Override B-1 protocol causes her to instinctively kill every Hereticorp employee in the area, or even anyone who happens to be too close to their logo. A specific example was when she [[spoiler:killed Monica, TheMole for the Cult of K'z'k, but only because she got a free hat from a company owned by Hereticorp.]]
* KillSat: [[spoiler:Oasis's true form. Her name is actually an acronym for Organically Augmented Stealth Incendiary Satellite.]]
* KnifeNut: Her favored weapon, which she frequently uses to stab or throw.
* KnightOfCerebus: Though not first non-comedic threat the main characters ever faced (she was first introduced in the midst of a slew of recurring storyline introductions, and her intro was still fairly humorous), it is through Oasis that most of the comic's darkest points were introduced (which led into one of the comic's largest {{Myth Arc}}s, and her storylines tend to be the grimmer, grounded and serious arcs where the comedy stops - only starting again in earnest once she's gone. It doesn't help that out of all of the other main recurring villains - who tend to be [[EvilIsHammy hammy]] and [[CardCarryingVillain card carrying]] - Oasis is the least humorous even in a BlackHumor sense, her insanity is played very straight, and she is rarely treated with anything but outright terror by the heroes.
* LoopholeAbuse:
** Override B-1 compels her to kill all Hereti Corp agents whenever she detects their presence. At first, she had few problems with this, since they were bad guys attempting to enslave her. But then Hereti Corp takes ownership of a pizza franchise. After slaughtering multiple franchises, she comes to the horrifying realization that ''those'' Hereti Corp employees were probably innocent, not to mention the customers she was killing too. She eventually learns how to retain some consciousness in this state and selectively focus only on the logo, therefore limiting the damage to the Hereti Corp symbol.
** Deep down, she realizes the truth, but finds it difficult to consciously even question her "love" for Torg and snaps at anyone who suggests it might be part of her brainwashing. Her adoptive sister, Katie, suggests that she might be loopholing around this as well. Oasis denies this, but states that since everyone dies around her, she needs to stay away from him to [[ItsNotYouItsMe protect him]].
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: Played with. She's the adopted daughter of a MadScientist, very beautiful, and in love with the hero, Torg. On the other hand, she only loves him because Steve told her to, which backfires on him when Bun-bun disables his control, making him unable to rescind the order.
* MeatSackRobot: [[spoiler:Oasis is actually an artificially intelligent KillSat that controls a RemoteBody created from a clone tank.]]
* MurderTheHypotenuse: Oasis has this as her default mode of dealing with any and all challengers for Torg's affection. She once tried this with Gwynn under the mistaken impression that Gwynn was Zoë. In the bROKEN arc, sees her finally identifying Zoë correctly... and believing Torg was "mistaken" when he said he didn't love Zoë.
* NakedFirstImpression: Named one of the books: ''Game Called On Account of Naked Chick''.
* NominalHero: In her sanest incarnation yet, she stays in a small town learning to control herself under the tutelage of a sensei. During this time, she plays vigilante - in the sense that she makes anyone who breaks the law around her extremely dead no matter how harmless or deserving of death they actually are. Her sociopathic approach to killing others freaks out her host family, and her sensei even admits that just because she's killing criminals it doesn't make her any better, necessarily - rather that because she knows nothing but how to kill, it's better at least that she learns to direct that towards bad people. This works... somewhat... but ultimately doesn't last - and Bun-bun has a bit of fun deconstructing her fragile "never hurt the innocent" attempts the next time they meet.
* OneWomanArmy: With knives alone, she has slaughtered hundreds of Hereti Corp soldiers, despite them being armed with guns and MiniMecha.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: She eventually develops a hobby of murdering rich evil sociopaths and stealing their stuff in order to support her adoptive family, the Zalias, since they are on the run from Hereti Corp.
* PlayingWithFire: She is a pyrokinetic. Orsinto scientists discovered this painfully after torturing her with their tests. She doesn't seem to be completely aware of her own power and she has no conscious control over it. This fire is implied to have special qualities that are key to Schlock's plans. [[spoiler:In truth, she isn't pyrokinetic. She is actually a KillSat with a weapon that can generate fires from orbit.]]
* PowerIncontinence: She has almost no control over her pyrokinesis. [[spoiler:It becomes much more precise if she receives orders to use it from Dr. Steve's voice through one of her control watches.]]
* PsychopathicManchild: She's really messed up in a lot of ways, and these include a lack of maturity and a fondness of violence, the latter even after she decides to be a "hero".
* RemoteBody: [[spoiler:The true nature of her "immortality". Oasis is actually an artificially intelligent supercomputer, loaded on a satellite and controlling a clone body from a great distance.]]
* ResurrectiveImmortality: She is theorized to be one of these. It has yet to be made clear how she keeps showing up again after being shot, impaled, and blown up so many times. It's possible that this is just the result of her Healing Factor, but there is evidence it's not the case. [[spoiler:In actuality, Oasis is an AI controlling [[RemoteBody Remote Bodies]]. There is a special place called the rebirth facility which creates her new clone bodies. Whenever she dies, a new clone is released from there and she leaves in a daze, not remembering exactly where she came out from.]]
* StalkerWithACrush: An extremely dangerous example.
* SuperPrototype: In [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20081204 this strip]] Kusari is confused why Hereti-Corp is so obsessed with retrieving Oasis when Kusari herself is said to have been made as an improved replacement, but Schlock claims there is an unspecified difference that makes Oasis valuable. [[spoiler: It's the fact that she's actually a stealth-cloaked satellite which if located and modified correctly could be used to TakeOverTheWorld.]]
* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler:People have speculated that Oasis is actually a robot, but Oasis has strenuously denied it. Eventually learning that it's essentially true actually helps her, breaking her free of all mental control.]]
* TragicMonster: She never chose to be a violent, murderous, [[ClingyJealousGirl jealous]] {{Yandere}}. Her current condition is a result of years of training, conditioning, and a form of [[BrainwashedAndCrazy brainwashing]] that can no longer be altered, changed, or removed. [[spoiler: Until she learns her true nature, which again proves to be a trigger allowing her to finally break free.]]
* {{Tykebomb}}
* WildCard: She would often swing between being an antagonist and ally of the main cast.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: All she wants is for her one true love to return her love, and until he does, she'll slaughter everything in her path. She knows that she was essentially brainwashed by Steve Hereti into loving Torg, but can't help it anyway. This, coupled with her not knowing exactly what she is, is slowly driving her insane(er).
* {{Yandere}}: Then again, how stable could a Robot/Undying Clone trained to be an assassin with a mind-control enforced love be?

!!'''Jane/Zombie Head on a Stick'''

A cruel zombie who is introduced as one of Gwynn's coworkers.
* AssholeVictim: After getting reduced to Z.H.O.A.S., she has been subjugated to all sorts of abuse, but needless to say, she probably deserves it.
* FateWorseThanDeath: After Gwynn gets revenge against her, her head ultimately falls off her body and she is later found by Torg. Torg attaches her head to a stick and uses her for his usual pranks. She has been subjugated to all sorts of abuse and begged for a MercyKill. After a HeelRealization, Torg finally decides they should grant her one.
* ImAHumanitarian: She had to feed on body parts to regenerate her own.
* KilledOffForReal: Gwynn grants her a MercyKill by using a flower demon's AntiMagic to counter the spells maintaining her undead state.
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: Her variety of zombie is created through a complex magic ritual and can't spread by bites or anything of that nature. They regenerate whatever they eat, and thus need to eat brains to maintain their intelligence.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: A benefit of being a zombie.
* XOnAStick: Her main selling point. The many {{Cloud Cuckoo Lander}}s can immediately think of dozens of "practical" uses for a Zombie Head on a Stick.

!!The Dimension of Pain

[[folder:The Dimension of Pain]]

A dimension of pain loving demons.
* BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad: The Dimension of Pain's sense of morality is decidedly confusing.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even Dimension of Pain demons have limits.
** Even they won't torture someone with Susan Powter commercials.
** Even Dimension of Pain demons think human politicians are the worst kind of scum.
* TooDumbToLive: They come very close to this and commonly die thanks to their stupid actions. The only reason they haven't wiped themselves out is because they are powerful and tough enough to usually survive the consequences of their antics.
* TooKinkyToTorture: Sort of. They love pain. [[BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad But they can still be effectively tortured by exposing them to something most people would find soothing]].
* ViralTransformation: The setting's backstory heavily implies that most of the "demons" either were or are descended from people who were [[FaceMonsterTurn corrupted by the Spear of Callmadar]]. The local GodOfEvil is likely the only natural demon in their realm. Ironically they also suffered what one could view as a Viral purification for a while.

[[folder:The Demon King]]
!!'''The Demon King'''

The ruler of the Dimension of Pain.
* GodOfEvil: He is this to the dimension he rules.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He has very little to do with the plot beyond the backstory. His only impact on the story is to fight Torg while Torg tries to escape the Dimension of Pain with the Goddess of Goodness.
* ScarsAreForever: After receiving a graze from Torg's god killing sword, Chaz, the Demon King is left crippled, which is still a lot more than can be said for the sword's other victims.

[[folder:The Goddess of Goodness]]
!!'''The Goddess of Goodness'''

The former ruler of what is now the Dimension of Pain, she was defeated and overthrown by the Demon King.
* GodEmpress: She is a god and was once the ruler of what is now the Dimension of Pain. After getting stuck in the Dimension of Lame, its citizens vote her President.
* GodOfGood: She was this to the dimension she once ruled. She is currently this to the Dimension of Lame, an extremely annoying plane she escaped to in order to recharge her power with the incredible innocence of its citizens.
* IdiotBall: Thanks to the brain freeze caused by being stuck in a freezer for so many centuries, she makes some bone-headed mistakes.
* SealedGoodInACan: The Demon King sealed her in a ziplock bag and stuffed her in his freezer. Torg eventually releases her in order to stop the DemonicInvaders of the Dimension of Pain and return him home.

A demon lord from the Dimension of Pain and a recurring villain in the strip.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: There are apparently only two ways to kill a Demon Lord: decapitation, or [[spoiler: stabbing him through the center of his soul with an enchanted weapon]].
* HonorBeforeReason: Torg's initial escape from the Dimension of Pain was the first black mark on his record as demon lord. He became obsessed with re-capturing Torg at any cost in hopes of regaining his perfect streak. [[spoiler: This obsession costs the D o P their dimensional take-over, the Demon King a sizable chunk of power, and Horribus his demon lord powers alongside endless suffering at the hands of his boss.]]
** Ironically his alternate self from the dimension of Sham-pain just decided to be more strict on Dine n Dashers than hunt the Torg that escaped his dimension (Which saves him from the Dimension of Pain Horribus' fate).
* KickTheDog:
** He [[spoiler:crushes Alt-Zoë with a building that was meant for Torg]].
** He also [[spoiler:kills Mosp for getting in his way.]]
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: After all the goofiness of the storylines he's in after his introduction (both in the main comic and in Ian Mcdonald's ''Meanwhile...'' Saturday strip), this trope bites ''hard'' when he leads the invasion of the Dimension of Lame in ''That Which Redeems''.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Horribus' attempts to retrieve Torg involve sending his minions one by one, each Hallowe'en. Justified as dimensional transport gives him stomach problems, and the one time he goes after Torg himself he ends up spending that Hallowe'en... [[ToiletHumour on a throne]].
* PlayingWithFire
* SpikesOfVillainy: All over him.
* UnexpectedSuccessor: As revealed in his backstory [[spoiler: Reak accidentally killed the previous Demon Lord, allowing Horribus to take his place.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: Caused by his obsession with Torg. Didn't help that he was Uozin's assistant when he was exiled to the surface of the dimension of pain, case in point [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/030419]]
* YouHaveFailedMe: Twice. The first time was the Demon King getting pissed that he failed to even be a bit of a threat in an attempted Halloween kidnapping of Torg, where at least Psyk, Mosp and even Reakk were threats, and he was banished to the surface of the Dimension of Pain for a while with Uozin (using a mystical camera to bind him to the demon hunter) till someone willingly takes it from him. His second YouHaveFailedMe was FAR more severe though.

A member of the Dimension of Pain's QuirkyMinibossSquad who eventually befriends and helps Torg.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: [[spoiler:Torg]] was the first person in a long time to acknowledge Mosp as her own person and apologizes when Isp and Osp don't even acknowledge her existence. She helps [[spoiler:him]] out later.
* ExpressiveHair: Specifically, her hair talks.
* HeroicSacrifice: Combined with a healthy dose of GoodAllAlong.
* MookFaceTurn: Torg seems to have a FriendToAllLivingThings' charm in this regard.
** Also, as he came from a different dimension than Mosp, he was able to trigger the CurseEscapeClause by [[spoiler:asking Mosp's name.]]
* MultipleHeadCase: [[spoiler:Mosp was fused with two snake demons as punishment for betraying her city. They speak for her, since she no longer can.]]
* NoMouth: Isp and Osp eat, drink, and talk for her. Notably they aren't a Hive mind so Mosp often just goes along with what they say. [[spoiler:[[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/weekly/011029 They were surprised when Mosp was able to stop them from killing Torg.]]]]
* QuirkyMinibossSquad
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: In an arc named "That Which Redeems" no less.
* RewardedAsATraitorDeserves: Part of her back story. She betrayed her city to the demons and sealed the doom of her people in exchange for letting her and her lover flee. But instead, the demons tried to assassinate her and accidentally killed her lover.

A servant of Horribus who is not all that bright.
* ButtMonkey
* TheDragonslayer: A dragon slayer, or as he likes to call it, [[InsistentTerminology the Dragon Boinker]] of one of the Dragons of Annoyia.
* MeaningfulName: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/19981101 Claims]] he's called Reakk because of the havoc he wreaks on the innocent, though Crystal thinks it's because he reeks of stench.
* NotSoHarmless: Reakk may be incompetent, but he can still [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20040603 rip apart people]] [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/19981108 and machines]] and [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/040922 intimidate Sweral and Tryka]].
* PokeThePoodle: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/19981101 Demonstrates his demonic powers over pain to Crystal]] by jamming her pinkie finger and stubbing her toe.
* PoorCommunicationKills: RunningGag, with Reakk's poor hearing meaning he misinterprets half of Lord Horribus' orders.
** [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20041108 This flashback strip]] reveals that one of these incidents meant Reakk [[ForWantOfANail was responsible for accidentally killing]] Horribus' predecessor as Demon Lord, Lord Atrocioun, and thus inadvertently elevated Horribus to his position.
** In a meta-joke, Reakk's AlternateUniverse counterpart in the Dimension of Sham-Pain [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20040816 has excellent hearing]].
* TooDumbToLive: A particularly bad case who has shown this time and time again. A good example of this is when he wandered around trying to find Torg on Halloween, failing to realize Torg was right in front of him the whole time.
* TortureFirstAskQuestionsLater: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20040603 In this strip]], though it's more like ''kill'' first and ask questions later.

A servant of Horribus who eventually took his place on the Demon King's orders. With the promotion Psyk's name became Lord Psykosis, gaining all the powers of demonic aristocracy.
* {{Cyclops}}
* EvilGenius
* HonestAdvisor: Is the only one of the demons willing to argue with Horribus that his obsession with Torg is distracting them from conquering the Dimension of Lame. Though Horribus is in no mood to listen.
* RageBreakingPoint: It was one thing to ruin their invasion of the Dimension of Lame. But killing Mosp was the last straw for Psyk who refused to follow Horribus any more in his obsessive revenge quest against Torg.
* RedRightHand: Horribus snaps off one of his horns in a fit of anger and it becomes infected. After Psyk becomes Psykosis, the black infection covers the entire side of his head and neck.

!!Hereti Corp

[[folder:Hereti Corp]]

An [[NGOSuperpower extremely powerful]] [[CorruptCorporateExecutive villainous corporation]] with plans to TakeOverTheWorld. They were once one of the setting's most dangerous villains, [[BlackAndGrayMorality though some members of Crushestro's group are starting to make them look sympathetic in comparison]].
* EvilInc: Especially before [[spoiler:Dr. Schlock]] took over.
* KillSat: [[spoiler:The superweapon an alternate version of Hereti Corp used to end the R&D wars in the 4UCityverse and a major goal of the Hereti Corp in the main universe]].
* MadScientist: Hereti Corp employs them.
* NGOSuperpower: Hereti Corp has a great deal of influence in the government and even has a small army at its disposal.
* PlayingBothSides: [[spoiler:Using Sasha, Hereti Corp was able to get advanced info on Torg's attempts to sabotage their competitors and acquire their assets after he ruins them.]]
* PunnyName: Hereti Corp (Just take the orp part remove the space between hereti and the c and you get Heretic. It might be just a MeaningfulName too.
* ResignationsNotAccepted: And they have no problems with a ConspicuouslyPublicAssassination if you try it.
* SelfDestructMechanism: UpToEleven. At Hereti Corp, just about everything has a self destruct.

[[folder:Dr. Steve]]
!!'''Dr. Steve Hereti'''

The founder of Hereti Corp. After his son, Daedelus, managed to take away control, Dr. Hereti made off with the Oasis project and hid himself away in a secret laboratory hidden in the woods.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: His ultimate plan is to get revenge on his son, conquer the world, and to date Daphne Zuniga.
-->'''Steve Hereti:''' Well once I rule the world, she'll have to say yes.
* BondVillainStupidity: Enforced. When he decides he just wants to shoot Torg and be done with it, Torg convinces him to be more like a real villain. That is, by telling Torg his master plan and cutting him in half with a laser. Steve decides to settle for tying Torg to a chair and [[PokeThePoodle blinding him with a pen light]].
* BornInTheWrongCentury: Dr. Steve developed AI before the Sluggyverse at large did, an information transfer system that can transmit entire intelligences via [[QuantumMechanicsCanDoAnything Quantum Entanglement]], and plenty of other tech far ahead of his time. Dr. Chen thought it was because Dr. Steve was a genius, Dr. Schlock thinks he got a leg up from TimeTravel or aliens.
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: One of the perverted things he planned to take advantage of Oasis's nature for was sending her on a date with a lesbian and having her tell all.
* ItsPersonal: He was NOT happy with his son for taking his company away from him and left Oasis with an order to kill every Hereti Corp employee she sees.
* MadScientist: He shows more than a few signs of eccentricity and his experiments on Oasis can only be described as this. He also invented AI before the Sluggyverse at large did and created wireless communication technology that even modern Sluggyverse tech cannot match.
* TrulySingleParent: [[spoiler:Daedelus Hereti and Roberts Hereti are actually clones of Dr. Steve.]]
* UncertainDoom: He is supposedly killed by a self-destruct and Oasis's memory of the event suggests she may have snapped his neck. He is never seen again, but one of Oasis's fuzzier memories of him depicts him telling her that she only loves Torg because he told her to, despite that having been his very last order before his apparent demise.

!!'''Dade "Daedelus" Hereti'''

The son of Dr. Hereti. He lead Hereti Corp for a time.
* CardCarryingVillain: He likes to name his assets with titles like "the evil dark room".
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: He was the CEO of an evil company named Hereti Corp. After Hereti Corp was investigated for murder and financial fraud, he pinned the blame on Dr. Chen and fled to [=BurgerMeister=]. He eventually took over by having the previous owner killed and used it to launch Hereti Corp's rebirth.
* TheFaceless: He is always covered in shadows. Even after he loses everything, his face is not seen. He is ultimately [[http://sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/170417 the last]] executive's face to be revealed.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Years before he was revealed to be Dr Steve's son, [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20010203 this strip]] contains a hidden message if you turn the third panel upside down: DR STEVE IS DA...
* TheStarscream: Took control of Hereti Corp away from his father.
* StupidEvil: He apparently revels in his evil.
** He has the guy who designed Hereti Corp's logo assassinated to save five dollars in royalties.
** He tries to have Dr. Schlock murdered as revenge for Schlock's role in destroying the previous incarnation of Hereti Corp, even though it was his own fault Dr. Schlock felt the need to do so and he wouldn't have otherwise been a threat this time. Dr. Schlock being very capable when a CorneredRattlesnake, this ends up backfiring horribly.

[[folder:Dr. Marcus Chen]]
!!'''Dr. Marcus Chen'''

A MadScientist who once worked for Orsintos labs and was directly involved in the Oasis Project. He is a former executive of Hereti Corp.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Joked about in one strip. When Marcus comes up with plans to betray Schlock and Torg, Daedelus accuses him of having this. Marcus points out that he served Daedelus loyally for years until Daedelus betrayed him and he only has "Betray M. All" as a tattoo because of his grandmother, who was a saint.
* ColdBloodedTorture: He tortures Gwynn quite a bit in an incompetent attempt at interrogating Torg for the location of Dr. Steve's lab.
* EnemyMine: Due to being enemies with Schlock, the new [=CEO=] of Hereti Corp, and having blown his chance to get back in with a failed coup attempt, he makes a subtle offer to Torg, by not blowing Torg's cover and vaguely hinting about his work on the Oasis Project. Torg initially rejects it due to personal hatred. But when the war against Hereti Corp grows more desperate, Torg decides that bad guy or not, enemy of my enemy is more important and uses Chen as a spy. Nevertheless, Torg shows every intention of letting Chen continue rotting in a cell, which eventually results in Chen betraying Torg as well.
* KillItWithFire: [[spoiler: Finally dies when Oasis is ordered to use her pyrokentic ability to burn up his tongue. This has the side-effect of taking out the rest of his head.]]
* PragmaticVillainy: When Torg calls him [[YouMonster a monster]], he replies that he's a pragmatist.
* PromotedToScapegoat: After Chen suffers from multiple failures, Daedelus makes ''him'' [=CEO=] of Hereti Corp, but only to take the fall when Hereti Corp is investigated for financial fraud, landing him in prison for years.

!!'''Roberts Hereti'''

One of Hereti Corp's executives and Daedelus's older brother. Likes to goof around a lot, much to Daedelus's annoyance.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}
* TheFaceless: When we first saw him, like all Hereti-Corp's executives he was always in shadows. When we finally see him in light [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20130114 here]], he's wearing [[Creator/MarxBrothers a Groucho Marx-style mask]].
* LargeHam
-->'''Roberts:''' Yes! I've returned from '''The Dimension of Sentient Cream Pies with Great Comic Timing'''! Now, my pets, strike while he's looking both pompous and incredulous!"
* NiceHat: A "tinfoil hat" with an aerial coming out of it, which has provoked much fan speculation.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: He has spent the greater part of the comic's history being an ineffectual goof. [[spoiler: Currently being the only person on Earth who can control Oasis directly and her pyrokinesis has made him a ''massive'' threat.]]
* OutOfFocus: After [[spoiler:Dr. Schlock]] takes over, Roberts mostly disappears from the Hereti Corp scenes for a long time.
* PluckyComicRelief
* SoleSurvivor: Aside from Kusari (who likely can't die like Oasis), he's [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20011111 the only member of Hereti-Corp's board when we first see them in 2001]] to [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20130114 still be on it in 2013]]. Particularly ironic when the first strip ended with Daedalus trying to order his execution.
* ThrownOutTheAirlock: [[spoiler:Schlock orders him locked in the space station's airlock as punishment for unnecessarily killing Dr. Marcus Chen. Schlock never has any actual intention of throwing him ''through'' the airlock, but when he tries to retrieve him later, Kusari sabotages the airlock to open the outer door, sucking him into space.]]

Oasis's "sister". She was the end result of a project meant to mimic Oasis's abilities. Though far saner than her counterpart, she is also compelled to obey commands from the CEO of Hereti Corp, whoever it may be.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: As with Oasis, it is unclear exactly how human she even is.
* ArtificialHuman: [[spoiler:Just like Oasis, Kusari is a series of clones being remotely controlled by an artificial intelligence.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Especially after Schlock took over.
-->'''Kusari:''' I shall inform him that if he fails I will sabotage his respiratory systems
-->'''Doctor Schlock:''' ... I'm half-tempted to have you kill whoever finally taught you sarcasm but I fear it might be me.
* DramaticUnmask: Bunbun rips off Kusari's mask, revealing her to be [[spoiler:Sasha]].
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Shlock expresses guilt over how "those kids" got entangled in his plans. Kusari then asks if he is referring to Torg, Zoe, Riff, and herself, which he confirms. [[spoiler:She is eventually revealed to have been a part time member of the gang in her alias as "Sasha"]].
** [[spoiler: Kusari being Sasha was actually shown as early as chapter 22 when Hereti Corp's name was first revealed. Sasha, Torg, and Oasis have just finished a conversation where Oasis tells them that she was instructed by her father to "know thyself", before Kusari bursts in and attacks. In the aftermath of the battle, Kusari scoffs at Oasis by remarking "Know thyself, indeed." as she walks away, despite how only Sasha and Torg heard that phrase from Oasis. However, without knowing that Kusari and Sasha can have multiple bodies in multiple places at once, there was no way for the reader to realize that Kusari's knowledge of that phrase meant Kusari and Sasha were the same.]]
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: She is programmed to obey the orders of Hereti Corp's current CEO and has proven to be utterly loyal to them. [[spoiler:But as Schlock reaches his endgame, she starts using LoopholeAbuse to avoid killing Riff and sabotages Schlock's plans for Oasis in the hopes that he will use her instead out of jealousy.]]
* ImmuneToMindControl: She proves immune to vampiric MindControl, leading said vampire, Urja, to speculate that she isn't human.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: When she gets confronted by Bunbun, she beats into an instant retreat, resulting in Bunbun remarking that she's ''way'' smarter than Oasis.
* LoopholeAbuse: She is an ArtificialHuman programmed to obey the CEO of Hereti Corp. [[spoiler:Schlock orders Riff killed, but Kusari uses the fact that said orders were directed at specific units and counts herself out as one of them as a loophole to avoid killing Riff herself. When Schlock gives her a direct order to kill Riff, she manages to stall by making Schlock give her a time parameter, forcing him to order her to kill him ''now''.]]
* McNinja: Her name, job, and fighting style point at ninja. But she also wears a jester outfit and [[spoiler:her body is a blond haired girl]]. While Hereti Corp R&D was focused on gymnastics, Daedelus specifically requested "ninja" for RuleOfCool.
* MeaningfulName: [[ExoticWeaponSupremacy The type of weapon she wields]].
* MeatSackRobot: [[spoiler:Kusari is an artificial intelligence hosted by an old AOL satellite, controlling a series of cloned [[RemoteBody Remote Bodies]].]]
* MyMasterRightOrWrong: Deconstructed. While she is loyal to Schlock for the moment, she is ultimately the puppet of whoever is currently CEO Hereti Corp. Schlock learns this hard way when he accidentally gives his title to Chen and barely escapes with his life as she starts to murder everyone in the building under Chen's orders.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: She apparently has red eyes, though this is really just an effect of her ninja mask.
* RemoteBody: [[spoiler:As with Oasis, she is an artificial intelligence controlling a clone body. And one of the ways in which she is ''superior'' to Oasis is her ability to control multiple clone bodies at once, hence how Kusari and her alias, "Sasha", are able to appear in the same room at once.]]
* ResurrectiveImmortality: She was killed by Oasis in a failed attempt to kill Zoë, but has come back to life (maybe even the same way as Oasis). However, it has been implied to be more difficult to arrange, and Shlock has said that she is a limited resource. [[spoiler:In actuality, she isn't immortal at all. She's just controlling remote bodies.]]
* SiblingRivalry: Shows signs of it with Oasis. She remarks with exasperation that whenever Oasis comes up, Hereti Corp drops everything in priority of her despite Kusari being made in Oasis's image and improved. During a fight, she also gloats to Oasis about one of those ways in which she is superior.
* TheStoic: While she does show signs of having emotions, they seem to work differently than that of a normal human. And in a big contrast to Oasis, the emotions she does have are always fairly controlled.
* SuperiorSuccessor: She considers herself to be one to Oasis. She ''does'' tend to be more rational than Oasis and is also capable of [[spoiler:controlling 3 bodies at a time]]. However, some disagree. She is less capable of emulating human emotion, and more importantly, and the one key advantage Oasis has over Kusari is her possession of an [[spoiler:{{Invisibility}} device, which Schlock needs to prevent the world from simply shooting her down when he attempts WorldDomination by using her as a KillSat]].
* YouMakeMeSic: She does this to Schlock when he misuses this word
-->'''Kusari:''' No I mean your use of the word 'sabotage'. An engagement eliminating armed opposing troops is not 'sabotage' by any traditional definition that I...

Gaining sapience from eating one of Clonegressive Inc's Project Mindswarm wasps, he was found by Hereti-Corp and became a member of their board. Schlock considers him a friend.
* CrazyJealousGuy: Over Corsica [[CrackPairing supposedly hooking up with Gennaro]].
* ADogNamedDog: Just about everyone refers to him as "Frog".
* LargeHam: He tends to be a tad dramatic.
* LonelyAtTheTop: He was once little more than a simple non-sapient frog living with his mate, Corsica. Since then, he has gained sapience and become an executive of one of the mightiest companies in the world. But in his rise to power, he lost Corsica, who remained non-sapient and was attracted away by Gennaro, who held a grudge against Frog. After a Christmas party gone wrong, he comes to express this sentiment.
* OnlyFriend: He is the only person in the entire world Schlock trusts enough to see in person. Likewise, Schlock is one of the few people Frog can get along with.
* PoweredArmour: FR-ech, an armoured suit that makes him look like Darth Vader.
** Tecnically it should be a MobileSuitHuman but yeah it looks like a power armor than human.
* TheStarscream: Not really, but the Frog of 4U city made himself out to be this, describing himself as "the ultimate betrayer!" due to shooting Schlock's already dead corpse.
* TalkingAnimal

A scientist and executive in the second incarnation of Hereti Corp.
* AmbitionIsEvil: He assassinated his boss and one of his coworkers to help Daedelus launch a coup on the previous owners of [=BurgerMeister=], rising in the company as a reward.
* KilledOffForReal: When Chen briefly tricks Dr. Schlock into naming him CEO, he ordered Kusari to kill everyone in the building save Daedelus. Gennaro is one of her first victims.
* MadScientist: Not the craziest case, but it's doubtful an entirely sane scientist would be in his position.
* ParrotPetPosition: Corsica, Frog's lady friend but otherwise a normal frog, gets attracted to all the flies on Gennaro's person. He proceeds to keep her on his shoulder and pretend Corsica's his new girlfriend to make Frog jealous as a way of getting back at Frog for the annoyance Frog caused him when Frog was his boss.

!!'''Dr. Shankraft'''

Was a evil scientist of his own till Torg and co ruined his company. Now works as director of Research and Development at Hereti-Corp. Crushestro stated that Dr. Shankraft was the only person he hated more than the Minion Master.
* ArsonMurderAndAdmiration: Tells Torg he crushed his hopes and dreams by destroying his base, points out the massive number of people Torg and Riff have directly and indirectly killed, and thanks them for causing the circumstances that allowed him hook up with Daiyu.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Seems very hesitant about building the D.F.A beam for the satellite due to having all the same dangers involved as a FantasticNuke.
* MadScientist: He specializes in portals, and once tried to sell a portal machine he advertised as being able to destroy the Earth should it reach the Earth's core.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: He specializes in portals, but he has also built oversized {{Nanomachines}} and dabbled in the fields of {{Evilutionary Biologist}}s with Daiyu's help.
* TheStarscream: His AlternateSelf in the 4U City universe tried to kill Dr. Schlock in a coup. Needless to say, it didn't go very well for him and he ended up being the one killed. As a result, Dr. Schlock didn't have any portal experts aside from himself to fix the damage the DFA eventually caused.

!!'''Biyu Daiyu'''

Used to be a low ranking assistant in the Nofun company, but is now an executive of Hereti-Corp.
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: You have to see this [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/130114 comic]], where she decides she should date Shankraft due to his relentless teasing of her fear of fire breathing ducks.
* EvilutionaryBiologist: Her speciality, though Dr. Schlock mostly just wants her to invent happiness drugs.
* MadScientist: A mild case.
* RunningGag: Her referring to the village she grew up in as having whatever weird tradition or practice is necessary for the strip's punchline.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Has a great fear of firebreathing/fireproof ducks (as she thinks ducks are dangerous as it is, having mastery over 3 of the Greek alchemical elements.) Shankraft thinks she has lost her marbles. But the flashbacks in the 4U City universe [[TheCloudcuckoolanderWasRight prove her right]], with fire breathing ducks being one of the many horrors that tore that AlternateUniverse apart.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: While he doesn't specifically aim for Daiyu's death, Shlock has no problems making orders that will get her killed as collateral damage since he doesn't need her anymore.

!!The Cult of K'Z'K

!!'''Kozoaku, God of Destruction/K'Z'K the Vowelless/Poopy Pants'''

The first true BigBad of the series, K'Z'K (often called Kiske, much to his chagrin) is the Mohkadun God of Destruction. He is introduced as an extremely powerful demon Torg, Riff, and Gwynn accidentally unleashed while playing with the Book of Evil. Although defeated by Torg and Zoë, he did not die, but instead his lingering will latched onto a depressed Gwynn and attempted to corrupt her into his new host before once again being vanished. Although his status as BigBad has long since been passed over to Hereti Corp, he is still a constant presence in the comic, as his demonic servants have now formed a cult to free him from his banishment. And he is likely to prove EvilerThanThou, now that Hereti Corp and his cult are on the brink of war...
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of destruction.
* AsteroidsMonster: After getting destroyed by Zoe, he split apart into vast numbers of fragments, each latching on to the souls he had consumed. Most of them are mindless, but a few of these fragments retain his consciousness.
* BatmanGambit: K'Z'K's plan to break free of his prison inside of Gwynn relied on her stupidly wearing the cursed camel necklace, developing a crush on Kron, and manipulating Tempest, things K'Z'K had been specifically waiting for her to do.
* BerserkButton: Do ''not'' pronounce his name with vowels!
* BigBad: Not the first one to appear technically (Horribus and the Vampires predated him), but he was certainly the first one that was presented as a nigh-undefeatable threat and is the symbol of one of the two most dangerous organizations on the planet.
* BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu:
** Krohnus has attempted to stop Kozoaku many times, but has only ever succeeded in delaying him, and always at great cost.
** When Torg asks [[CoolSword Chaz]] if it is capable of killing K'Z'K when powered up, Chaz compares the theoretical result to ripping the ending out of a book. [[spoiler:It is eventually revealed that though K'Z'K brings about extinction events, killing K'Z'K would cause a RealityBreakingParadox, destroying the world completely and permanently. And this is ''exactly'' what is fated to happen.]]
* CompleteImmortality: Kozoaku can be [[SealedEvilInACan sealed]], weakened, or even [[AsteroidsMonster shattered]]. But everything has an end, and as the AnthropomorphicPersonification of destruction, and part of the ViciousCycle of creation and destruction, the power K'Z'K represents can never be completely gone and will always return eventually. Or at least, so Wilden thinks. It turns out K'Z'K ''can'' be destroyed, and the result would [[spoiler:bring the universe to its final end]].
* TheCorrupter: When he started off his end of the world scenario in the middle ages, he was able to turn the recent dead into demonic creatures under his control. When he was defeated by Zoe, a surviving piece of his being latched on to Gwynn's soul. This fragment tempted Gwynn with magic to solve her problems, increasing his power and using her [[DisproportionateRetribution petty nature]] to alienate her from her friends.
* DemonicPossession: Obviously. [[spoiler:He gained the power to possess mortals due to Krohnus changing his nature to that of a demon. Dunuloa realized that this was also a double edged sword, and that it would be possible to imprison him by having him possess a mortal and sealing said mortal into a scroll.]]
* TheDreaded
* EmbarrassingFirstName: After being resealed within the book, Gwynn changes the Destroyer's true name from K'Z'K to Poopy Pants, much to his annoyance.
* EvilIsNotAToy:
** In the ancient past, in the city of Mohkadun, the king ordered the execution of a pair of individuals as punishment for spying on his favorite queen. When they escaped, he had their entire families executed, enraging the city into rebellion. The king's paranoid measures eventually succeeded in suppressing the rebellion. According to the propaganda, the rebels began efforts to summon Kozoaku in an effort to destroy the king out of desperation, even though Kozoaku will inevitably destroy all of them as well. In actuality, the God of [[spoiler:Justice]] turned traitor and persuaded the King to summon Kozoaku in an effort to destroy the other gods, especially Kron, a demigod who had wronged the king. The traitor god intended to use Kozoaku to destroy Krohnus so as to overthrow him, but Kozoaku reveals that he has his own plans, ruining the traitor's plans after a HumiliationConga.
** Gwynn summoned him to murder Riff as [[DisproportionateRetribution revenge]] for Riff's attempt to [[WomanScorned cheat on her]]. As a result, K'Z'K managed to steal her soul and possess her twice. In an AlternateUniverse, this resulted in the end of the world. This one was only saved because a time traveller went into the past and caused K'Z'K's defeat, splitting off the timeline.
* GodOfEvil: Technically, he is the God of Destruction, but he performs his duties with too much enthusiasm, enjoys hurting people, and destroys things well before he is actually ''supposed'' to do so.
* ImmortalImmaturity: He generally behaves like a PsychopathicManchild, and his motives don't seem to have much depth beyond destroying the world.
* JustToyingWithThem: Despite having enough power to destroy the world, he tends to toy with his opponents and play along with the action around him for his entertainment instead of seizing his desires immediately.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: [[spoiler:K'Z'K erases the future knowledge his past self, Kozoaku, obtained from him to ensure a StableTimeLoop instead of an AlternateUniverse where K'Z'K would remain trapped. Kozoaku is quite grateful, since being betrayed by his own future self makes him really annoyed with himself]].
* LaughablyEvil: For a demon who's bent on world domination and destruction, he's very clownish and jocular.
* LaughingMad: In the Mohkadun arc in an altered past, he possesses Gwynn!Siphaniana's body and indulges in hysterical laughter, because of the success of his EvilPlan.
* MagicIsAMonsterMagnet: This is why there was a BanOnMagic in the ancient city of Mohkadun. Kozoaku was [[SealedEvilInACan sealed away by Chronos]], but using magic weakens Kozoaku's prison, and certain rituals can be used to eventually summon him.
* OmnicidalManiac: His only motive is to enslave, terrify, and destroy the world. Which is unsurprising, given that he is in fact, the AnthropomorphicPersonification of destruction.
* OurDemonsAreDifferent: Kozoaku was once one of the two pillars of existence, but using a massive amount of Prozoato's energy, Khronos was able to reduce him to "merely" an ultra powerful demon.
* PeoplePuppets: Kozoaku has the power to control those who are both evil and [[WeakWilled weak of soul]].
* PhlebotinumKilledTheDinosaurs: At least twice. He ''might'' have wiped out one batch with a ZombieApocalypse, and probably ''did'' wipe out the last major batch with a meteor. Nevertheless, at least one population of dinosaurs remains alive in a cave. For now, though Khronus plans otherwise since they are a danger due to being ImmuneToFate.
* PuppeteerParasite: He takes the skin of a human girl named Ti-Ti-Ti in order to trick Wyntiti into [[spoiler:protecting a secret box over the generations]].
* RedRightHand: At one point, Kozoaku steals the skin of a human girl to trick Wyntiti. When Wyntiti gazes upon Kozoaku, Kozoaku maintains the disguise and looks like a normal girl. But when she looks away, [[EyesDoNotBelongThere Kozoaku's extra eyes]] appear out of where the girl's diamond tattoos were.
* ScrewDestiny: Fate was literally created to stop him from destroying the world prematurely by putting a plan between pillars of creation and destruction. His main goal is to get around the Web of Fate and destroy the world permanently.
* SealedEvilInACan: Many many times. {{God}} ascended Father Time into godhood to stop Kozoaku from bringing about the EndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt before he is actually meant to do so. At first, Khronos just tried to block him with the Web of Fate, influencing events away from the world's destruction. But Kozoaku was very powerful and eventually managed to break through it. Then, Khronos tried to reduce him into a demon and imprison him in a pocket dimension called the Never. Kozoaku tricked mortals into releasing him. Khronos tried imprisoning him a second time and empowered new gods to serve as role models against Kozoaku's call. But the God of Justice turned traitor and arranged for Kozoaku to be summoned again. Kozoaku is then sealed into the Book of E-Ville, and his name is changed to K'Z'K to weaken his power. He gets released yet again by Gwynn, but is ultimately shattered into many pieces by Zoe.
* SealedInsideAPersonShapedCan: After his outer body and physical bug body are destroyed by Zoe, his consciousness ends up trapped inside Gwynn.
* SpeakOfTheDevil: Use of the God of Destruction's true name empowers him, and his name is also a component of the simplest ways of releasing him. As such, his enemies changed his true name from Kozoaku to K'Z'K, making it impossible to pronounce.
* StableTimeLoop: [[spoiler:Krohnus sealed him into the Never Dimension. But even though the present Kozoaku was unable to directly ensure his release, he was able to reach out through time. A free future incarnation of himself ultimately created the very past conditions that allowed said free incarnation to break out in the first place]].
* ThirdEye: Is depicted as having this in his true demonic form and in his miniscule bug form.
* TheUnpronounceable: It turns out this was deliberate. His enemies changed Kozoaku's true name to K'Z'K to make it impossible to pronounce, because the use of Kozoaku's name empowers him.
* YouCanSeeMe: [[spoiler:In the altered timeline Gwynn ends up in, Kozoaku wanted to see the action. K'Z'K, Kozoaku's future self, warned him against it, because his enemies planned on sealing him away, but Kozoaku resisted. K'Z'K then offered to teach him a spell that would allow him to enter an invisible spirit form. But he later turns out to have been lying and gleefully watches as his past AlternateSelf gets sealed away into King Farahn.]]
* YourSoulIsMine: He collects them from his victims. When Gwynn stupidly summons him in an attempt to [[WomanScorned murder Riff]], he is able to steal hers, and when his physical form is destroyed, a piece of him latches on as her soul returns to her body. [[spoiler:The very first victim of this was the [[LightIsNotGood supposed god of Justice]], Lord Symachus]].

A light blue, mucus (or bubble gum) like demon that worked with K'Z'K. He was summoned when a man named Bob attempted to read a Bazooka Joe comic after a printing error had caused its ink to run into runes of pure evil. Skippy can transform Bob into a sticky goo. The demon first appeared as K'Z'K's underling after Gwynn's second possession. Though he acted obsequious, it has been implied that Skippy was far more knowledgeable than he appeared. He is now the head of The Release, another cadre of humans and demons eagerly anticipating K'Z'K's return.
* BlobMonster
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Despite being enemies, he bonds with Torg pretty quickly over their mutual love of eccentric behavior.
* DemonicPossession
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Has a mentally retarded brother of whom he is very sensitive towards and protective of, in spite of the fact that, as stated by Chilus, he shouldn't feel any kind of sympathy to anyone since he is a demon.
** He shouted "Bob NOOO!!" When his first host died and told Chilus he was rather fond of Bob.
* NobleDemon: He may want to bring about the end of the world, but he would prefer not to cause unnecessary suffering along the way and is willing to give his enemies a swift death.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Joins in on Torg "What the What!?!"
* ObfuscatingStupidity: When he first meets K'z'k [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20000604 here]] he acts rather dumb and only eventually seems to recognise K'z'k's name. [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20010401 At the end of that storyline]] it seems he was planning something with K'z'k all along. [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/050814 Years later he reappears]], smacks down Chilus and clearly has a better understanding of K'z'k than the leader of what is supposed to be a cult in his name.
* PoliticallyCorrectVillain: He's very upset at Chilus for making a "retard" joke. Just because they're evil demons it doesn't mean they shouldn't have some ''class''!
* {{Shapeshifting}}: His main power is to turn his host into a form of BlobMonster like his own form so he can shapeshift his hands and arms.
* SpecialPersonNormalName
* SueDonym: His 'falsename' alias is "Skip" and his 'truename' is "Skippy". K'z'k has a FlatWhat reaction to this [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20000604 here]].

The mysterious and mortal founder of the Cult of K'Z'K.

* GenderMisdirection: The cult's leader has long been hinted to be a man. But Skippy later learns that despite the rumors, she is actually a woman.
* PlayingBothSides: [[spoiler:She and Wilcott Wilden have been pitting the Cult of K'Z'K and The Release against one another to keep mortals in charge of the demons. This eventually backfires due to Chilus's ambitions.]]

A wasp-like demon and the leader of the demonic faction of the Cult of K'Z'K. She became part of the cult fifty years ago, which included several human members (who have the cult's symbol tattooed on them), but now believes the end of the world is her own task. Chilus possessed and subverted key elements of Clonegressive, LLC and engineered the brain-bug "accident." It was her intention that the bugs would escape into the world and turn humanity into an army of zombie-like antisocial geeks. She had intended Zoë, the legendary Storm Breaker, to be among her first victims. After her plot failed, she managed to escape the building by possessing Meander, sister of Clonegressive's head. Skippy is very angry with her for allowing Zoë to re-enter the equation.

She eventually takes part in K'Z'K's successful resurrection, but seems to have her own conflicting interests.
* AmbiguousGender: Never definitively stated. The female pronoun is used here because she is most often seen possessing a female host, Meander. [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20080722 This strip]] may imply she's female unless it's a RealMenWearPink joke.
* DemonicPossession: Not only is Chilus this, she is the only demon known to have changed host bodies.
* FantasticRacism: Is contemptuous of mortals and underestimates their abilities, which was largely the reason why her Clonegressive plan failed.
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: She was willing to kill her own people to see how to activate Chaz's "kill anything" ability. Luckily for everyone involved, none of the people she attacked were innocent (not even the hosts of the demons; they were volunteers), so Chaz was not empowered by their blood.
* TheStarscream: It is implied that she wants to use Zoe and the demon killing sword to kill K'Z'K so as to become top dog. And if Zoe ends up killed instead, then it will look like she is a devoted disciple. When K'Z'K ends up sealed away again, her face is actually smiling. She expresses a desire to claim the book into which he is sealed and lies about her progress to the mortal leader of the cult.

A female Demon that works with Chillus that work at human resources. Her demonic form looks like a lacewing.
* HumansAreSpecial: Unlike Chillus who is ready to dismiss humans. Lacey views them on abit higher scale
--> Chillus: You Give them too much credit.
--> Lacey: And you give them too little! We were founded by an 'Ordinary mortal'.
* NobleDemon: While it too early to say if it this or not, her stance that human deserve respect and that seems abit sad that N'aaaw mention stealing the book from Gwynn [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/130313]]. Of course that might have been more annoyance about how disorganize for stuff like security clearance.
* TheParalyzer: is able to inject paralyzing venom via her antenna in this comic[[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/140429]]
* SassySecretary: She arguably this.
* VillainousRescue: Saves Zoe from Skip, due to her boss wanting to keep the option to eliminate K'Z'K on the table.

First introduced as part of the K'Z'K surveillance team keeping an eye on Gwynn, N'aaaw is a female demon with a deliberately cute human form, which she uses to her advantage more than once. Her demon form resembles a purple [[TheIncredibleHulk Hulk]] with MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily. She has demonstrated SuperStrength and an incredibly fast HealingFactor.
* BigEater
* CuteIsEvil
* DeliberatelyCuteChild: Her human form either falls under this...
* DistractedByTheSexy: Or this. Sam [[spoiler:dies due to this]].
* EloquentInMyNativeTongue: Inverted. She is significantly more eloquent as a human than as a Demon.
* HealingFactor: Fast enough to regrow an arm almost instantly. Even a bullet through the head will not have any effect.
* IAmAHumanitarian: While she isn't technically human, her host most certainly is. Almost every appearance ends up in her eating something. Usually the remains of whoever she has killed.
* InterspeciesRomance: Has an interest in Agent Reynold Strom and is heartbroken when he shoots her through the head.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: Seriously, [[http://sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20130527 just look at them.]]
* PokemonSpeak: She is capable of speaking normally in human form, but her Spirit demon seems to only be able to repeat the words "A-NI-MAUL" with various degrees of emphasis.
* SuperStrength
* TransformationIsAFreeAction: She can transform between Human and Demon form in the middle of a sword swing, and back again just as quickly
* VillainousGlutton

Introduced as the partner of N'aaaw, Whipser appears to be the more intelligent of the duo. She has the ability to turn Humans into large dogs that are subservient to her will, and she can travel through shadows. Her demon form resembles a small black snake.
* BodyHorror: [[http://sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/130617 The transformation of humans to her hounds sure looks that way]]
* CastingAShadow: Whisper can enter the shadows and travel through them, appearing from another shadow and hiding that way.
* CombatTentacles: She can change her arms into Tentacles.
* CompellingVoice: She appears to direct her hounds in this manner.
* FaceMonsterTurn: What happens to her victims.
* IntangibleMan: She is supposedly intangible while in the shadows. [[spoiler:Of course, a powered up Chaz can kill intangible creatures.]]
* KilledOffForReal: Was killed with a single scratch from a powered up Chaz.
* MookMaker: She can transform humans into large Hounds, and it is her primary mean of combat.
* VillainTeleportation: She can teleport through the shadows.

[[folder:Wilcott Wilden]]
!!'''Wilcott Wilden'''

Riff's father, an archaeologist specializing in the history of Mohkadun and a cultist of The Release.
* AdventurerArchaeologist: He studies the civilization of Mohkadun and has had to dodge all sorts of monsters in his line of work.
* AffablyEvil: Even after his associations with K'Z'K were revealed, he still maintains a friendly demeanor, wanting Torg and Zoe to at least make their peace with each other before killing them.
* ApologeticAttacker: [[spoiler:He decides to murder Zoe and Torg to prevent Zoe from defeating K'Z'K. He says that he could have murdered them in their sleep, but felt he owed them a moment to make their peace]]. He also apologizes to one of his slaves before murdering him via backstabbing in order to remove a communication device he planted in his body via surgery.
* ArchnemesisDad: He is Riff's father, and a cultist of The Release, who wants to unleash K'Z'K and destroy the world. He reveals his treachery by drugging Riff and his friends. He then tries to murder Zoe to stop her from continuing her destiny of stopping K'Z'K from ending the world prematurely.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: He betrays Torg and company to Skippy's cult, The Release. He then betrays Skippy to the Cult of K'Z'K. He eventually reveals that he has been PlayingBothSides, which leaves Skippy rather irritated.
* CoolOldGuy: He's a smart and resourceful archeologist who has what it takes to help the gang, and gets along quite swimmingly with everyone. Torg even refers to him as "Best 'Best Friends Dad Ever.'" Until it's revealed that he's really been trying to destroy the world.
* DisappearedDad: He's been absent from Riff's life for a long time.
* DontMakeMeDestroyYou: Skippy is highly irritated with the way Wilcott has been pulling his strings and starts trying to strangle him. Wilcott tells him these exact words.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He claims to Torg that helping his son is the entire reason he is trying to destroy the world. [[spoiler:Gwynn speculates that he fell for K'Z'K's lies about keeping the family of the one to release him safe]].
* ExactWords: He tells Riff that he has been unable to contact him for all these years because he spent all that time in a Tunisian prison. [[spoiler:What he neglects to mention is that he was the warden, and his prisoners included kidnap victims]].
* GeometricMagic: He knows how to draw spell circles that prevent demons from noticing those inside.
* HereditaryCurse: He inherited an ancient curse of blindness, but not to the same degree as his ancestor or his son, meaning that he does not have to wear CoolShades all the time.
* InTheBack: He murders one of his slaves, Darryl, by backstabbing him.
* NiceHat: Usually seen to wear one.
* OmnicidalManiac: [[spoiler:He is part of Skippy's K'Z'K cult, known as The Release, and aims to destroy the world on his own terms for what he describes as "very specific reasons"]].
* PlayingBothSides: [[spoiler:Wilcott Wilden and Tombsy have been pitting the Cult of K'Z'K and The Release against one another to keep mortals in charge of the demons. This eventually backfires due to Chilus's ambitions.]]

!!The Crushestro Alliance

[[folder:The Crushestro Alliance]]

An alliance of various [[CorruptCorporateExecutive villainous corporations]] planning to TakeOverTheWorld, nominally headed by Crushestro.
* ArchEnemy: To Hereti Corp in the R&D war.
* ImAHumanitarian: The No-Fun mutants aren't exactly human anymore, but they still come disturbingly close to this trope on account of their "feed your tween to work day".
* NGOSuperpower
* TooDumbToLive: No-Fun mutants have all of the stupidity and none of the power or endurance of the demons from the Dimension of Pain. As a result, they end up killing themselves in droves.
* TooKinkyToTorture: Members mutated by the "squid on a stick" love pain.
* ViralTransformation: The No-Fun legacy group is the main universe's version of the Dimension of Pain. Much like the Dimension of Pain, they have a "squid on a stick" that can transform people. Unlike the Spear of Callmadar however, it is technological in nature and turns people into pain loving mutants rather than pain loving demons. The Crushestro Alliance plans to create its army by [[FaceMonsterTurn corrupting people to their cause with it]].

The head of one of the villainous organizations bidding on Dr. Shankraft's displacement drive and one of the few who came in person rather than sending a representative.
* BigNo: [[spoiler:When Hereti Corp banishes Monicruel to another dimension]].
* CaptainErsatz: Of Destro, from ''GIJoe''.
* ChromeChampion
* DomesticAbuse: before getting stranded on Shankraft Island, he was apparently in the process of getting divorced from his overbearing wife.
* EnemyMine: Teams up with Torg against Hereti-Corp and Bestseid.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas
* HenpeckedHusband
* LargeAndInCharge
* LargeHam
* OopsIForgotIWasMarried: more likely, he ''wanted'' to forget.
* UnholyMatrimony: starts a relationship with Monicruel when the two of them get stranded on Shankraft Island. [[spoiler:Also, his exwife, Chestro, seems even more villainous than he is.]]

A member of the Golden Sacks banking group and Crushestro's current lover.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive
* HighClassGlass: She couldn't be called Monicruel if she didn't have a monocle.
* KickTheSonOfABitch: [[spoiler:She detains and tortures Sasha in a move to make the gang start working for her. It's depicted as a MoralEventHorizon-crossing moment for Monicruel, but when they come in to rescue her, Sasha reveals her true colors as a [=HereticCorp=] spy.]]
* MeaningfulName: She wears a monocle and can be quite ruthless.
* PutOnABusToHell: [[spoiler:Hereti Corp banishes her to another dimension with the DFA]].
* TheStarscream: Attempts to steal the Hereti Corp data for herself so she can gain influence over Crushestro. According to her plan, the data would give Crushestro control over the alliance, but she would control the data. She ultimately fails and is forced to cover up her involvement.

Monicruel's playful sister. She is highly skilled at espionage.
* AccidentalMisnaming: Doesn't like Torg abbreviating her name to "Slaw".
* ACupAngst: As seen [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/121115 here]] and [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20121120 here]], lampshaded by Bun-bun's pun.
* EscapeArtist: When Torg takes her hostage, she reveals that she can easily slip out of her bonds at any time. Then she slips back in them just as easily, presumably because she likes Torg.
* MeaningfulName: Inverted. Her mother clearly intended this, but Slaughteresa doesn't kill people unless she has to and states that she has always hated that name, preferring to be called Teresa.
* TheMole: She infiltrates Hereti Corp as a pizza girl.
* PerkyFemaleMinion
* SignificantAnagram: When she infiltrates Hereti Corp, she goes by the name, Reseta.
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:Hereti Corp banishes her sister, Monicruel, and Crushestro to another dimension with the DFA. Of all the non-Hereti Corp staff on the scene, she is the only one that manages to escape]].

The leader of the Dr. No-Fun legacy group.
* AvengingTheVillain: Briefly tried to do this to Crushestro on behalf of his former boss, Dr. No-Fun, [[PragmaticVillainy though Crushestro talks him out of it]].
* CardCarryingVillain
* DragonAscendant: Was once Dr. No-Fun's number two and takes over the company after he dies.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: After his base gets invaded and everything starts falling apart due to the total incompetence of No-Fun mutants, he leaves Saik, the sluggyverse's [[AlternateUniverse alternate counterpart]] to Psykk, in charge and tries to take off, [[GenreSavvy since he knows that there is a very good chance that the thermobaric bomb he bought earlier is going to go off]].
* WasOnceAMan: Before he got mutated into a pain loving mutant by the squid on a stick.
* YouHaveFailedMe: Murders his chief of exports partially for telling everyone the secret ingredient he uses in his pina coladas. But mostly just because he wanted to reuse the [[ExplosiveLeash execution device attached to him]] on Torg, rather than walk to a warehouse on the other side of the base.

Psyk's [[AlternateUniverse alternate counterpart]] in the Sluggyverse.
* MadScientist: Used to be one of these. But the Squid on a Stick decreased his intelligence when he was mutated.
* PragmaticVillainy: Pang wastes a lot of resources for stupid reasons. Saik is quick to point this out.
* TheResenter: Feels he should lead the No-Fun mutants because he created the Squid on a Stick and Pang is totally incompetant, but everyone follows Pang's lead instead.
* TheStarscream: He is a lot more competant than Pang, but doesn't have the charisma to get anyone to follow him. That doesn't stop him from scheming. Eventually, Pang gives command to him when he [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere decides to flee the base]]. Pang comes to regret this.

!!Oceans Unmoving Characters

A remarkably bright boy for a leaf person, Calix is one of the few natives of Timeless Space rather than someone who has fallen out of the timestream. He was picked up by the Bloody Bun during a raid on his village, but instead of locking him below with his tribesmen, Bun-Bun promoted him to First Mate. According to his crew, that's because the Captain likes to know where the next mutiny is coming from.
* AnAxeToGrind: Calix is extremely skilled with his twin axes. So much so that Bun-Bun deduces his people are not farmers, but warriors who happen to farm.
* DeadpanSnarker: "Grandpa liked to smoke the purple mushrooms, didn't he?"
* TheDulcineaEffect: To Kada. This fades when she joins forces with Bun-Bun.
* FishOutOfWater: Even more so than the non-natives.
* LoinCloth: And it's made out of ''leaves.'' Yes, leaves. There's a reason Bun-Bun calls his tribe the Leaf People.
* TooDumbToLive: As Bun-Bun put it, his grand plan for freeing his people was essentially tossing a calculator to a group of cavemen and telling them to balance their budget.
* TookALevelInBadass: After he stops caring so much for lives other than those dear to him, he becomes a lethal force.

!!'''Kada Jansen'''

Bun-Bun's first mate for the tail end of "Oceans Unmoving" and the entirety of "Oceans Unmoving II", up until Bun-Bun escapes and she captains her own ship. Came from a different time period; was pulled into Timeless Space when Carib-Carriage One attempted to take off.
* TheChosenOne: She's the only one that can operate the map that leads to Teknokon One, the only ship that can enter and exit Timeless Space at will.
* ClusterFBomb: Becoming a pirate might have been a good career move for her, as she certainly already had the ''mouth'' of a sailor.

!!Gods and Demigods

!!'''Krohnus, God of Time'''

The Mohkadun God of time, also known as Father Time. He is the king of the gods and responsible for guiding Fate as a means of preventing the world from being destroyed prematurely. For some reason hates the Dutch.
* AllPowerfulBystander: After [[spoiler:the murder of his son and wife]], he completely ceases to directly involve himself in the affairs of mortals, only concerning himself with ensuring that time remains stable. He is completely indifferent even to Bun-bun imprisoning one of his daughters for the rest of eternity. And though it is his job to safeguard the universe, he has become so indifferent to mankind in general that [[spoiler:he is willing to let the tangle in the Fate Web kill K'Z'K, causing a RealityBreakingParadox that will end all of existence]].
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of time. He created the web of fate to guide events and prevent the god of destruction from destroying worlds before their appointed time. For a time, he left Tempest in charge of Fate, but took it back under his own management due to Tempest's failings.
* CruelMercy: [[spoiler:Instead of merely killing him, he curses Lord Symachus with a long and painful life for his treachery]]. He also exiles his honorary brother to Timeless Space for the rest of eternity as punishment for his failings.
* DeityOfHumanOrigin: Though not technically human, he was once a mortal, somehow born with incredible knowledge of time. Pleased, [[{{God}} The One]] ascended him into godhood to stop the god of destruction from destroying the god of creation's worlds prematurely. Khronos himself also lifted several other mortals into godhood to serve as role models against Kozoaku's influence.
* TheGhost: Has only appeared in a series of in-universe sketches depicting his encounter with Crazy Carver in Timeless Space and his creation. Otherwise he only appears as a disembodied voice. He finally shows up in person here: http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/131014
* IHaveNoSon: He doesn't take this all the way, but he refuses to acknowledge Kron for the next one thousand years as punishment for his foolishness that hurt the ties between mortals and gods.
* InMysteriousWays: The Fate Web he created protects the world by extremely subtle manipulation of events.
* {{Narrator}}: Narrates the strip from time to time to maintain his sanity over the eons.
* {{Telekinesis}}: He uses this power when threatening Sluggy, also known as [[spoiler:Bunbun]].
* {{Telepathy}}: He has the power to communicate with others remotely.
* ThisCannotBe: [[spoiler:His reaction to King Farahn killing his otherwise immortal son by using Chaz]].
* TimeStandsStill: His underlings, the Years have this power, and he does as well. He is also the very creator of Timeless Space.
* TopGod: He is the head of the Mohkadun pantheon and second in importance only to Prozoato, God of Creation, as well as [[{{God}} The One]].

The ruler of Hell and a powerful devil Riff spammed in the very first comic. At one point, he was a warrior from the Never Dimension and was the wielder of Torg's god killing sword, Chaz.
* TheDevilIsALoser
* GodOfEvil: He isn't the only one featured or even the most significant, but he rules the dimension of Hell.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: He is this for the most part. He is terrified of scorpions, sired kittens while drunk, and is a frequent victim of Riff's pranks. The only significant amount of evil he has accomplished was the creation of THE EVIL, a litter of cute and unstoppable kittens.

[[folder:The Evil]]
!!'''The Evil'''

THE EVIL is a bunch of cute satanic kittens, biting, ripping and slashing through the population of Wispydale. It was revealed that the EVIL were bred by Satan, during the drunken party the satanic cult of Wispydale held for him. Any questions about the incident were answered by a "I do not want to talk about it." He left the cult in charge of feeding the kittens a bowl of milk every night, on pain of their destruction by the kitten.
* TheAntichrist: They are not the Antichrist, but they ''were'' sired during a drunken attempt to create him.
* CompleteImmortality: Seriously you can't kill these things, they tried.
* DeathByIrony: They are really big fans of this.
* TheDreaded: Everyone fears them and with good reason.
* EvilIsNotAToy: A couple of haughty Satanists try to abandon the heroes to the kittens as part of their Satan worship. The kittens target them first.
* HeroKiller: When the kittens appear, AnyoneCanDie except the main three cast. In fact, they were used to kill off a major recurring character, Bert.
* KillerRabbit
* PowerGivesYouWings: Satan gives them upgrades and they develop the power to fly.
* RunOrDie: If you don't have milk, running is your ''only'' chance of survival.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Their only weaknesses are water and milk. Neither will hurt them, but they will avoid them. If they end up drinking milk, they are temporarily reduced to near harmless, if immortal kittens.

'''Tempest, God of Fate'''

The former Mohkadun God of Fate, also known as Uncle Time. He is Father Time's honorary brother and the reason Torg has Bun-Bun.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: He was originally the God of Fate, but ends up fired from that job for his failings. He is then put in charge of Timeless Space, a buffer Khronus creates to keep the universe self-contained and imprison those who abuse time and space. Khronus tasks him with guarding the universe against outside incursions as well as maintaining it.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: He has always been a little kooky. Though this has only gotten worse over time, likely due to his punishment by Khronus.
* TheExile: As punishment for failing in his duties in overseeing the Web of Fate, Khronus sends him into Timeless Space for the rest of eternity. He claims it isn't a banishment, just an appointment, except that he forbids Tempest from ever coming back to visit.
* GambitPileup: After discovering K'Z'K's tampering with the Fate Web, gathering every "[[SealedEvilInACan ordained]]" in one spot, he desperately tries to oppose him by gathering every single [[TheChosenOne potential]] in the same spot, resulting in this.
* GoMadFromTheIsolation: He is implied to have suffered from this due to his exile to Timeless Space. While he was never completely right in the head, he was once capable of empathy and felt very bad about the suffering of innocents. But when he was banished to Timeless Space, he was left all alone save for a single time frozen visitor. By the time Bun-bun runs into him in Timeless Space, he seems to have lost his marbles in spite of his assertions to the contrary. At this time, there are plenty of other prisoners stuck in Timeless Space and Bun-bun suggests he get out more. But Tempest assures Bun-bun that he likes his privacy.
* HonoraryUncle: He isn't a blood relative of Khronos, but he is an honorary member of the family, and the fact that their jobs are closely related helps.
* HumanityEnsues: He was originally a spider, but chose to use the VoluntaryShapeshifting power gods have to become a human in order to enjoy human meals.
* NotSoOmniscientAfterAll: As the God of Fate, he knows much about what passes in the world. He reassures his honorary niece that there have been no surprises thus far, with Fate being Fate. He proceeds to get completely blindsided when he notices that "Siphaniana" is actually Gwynn, and her thread is connected to all sorts of destabilizing things in the web, such as time travel and dimensional portals. A number of things ImmuneToFate also manage to sneak into the world under his watch, including the god killing sword, Chaz, which is why [[spoiler:Khronus blames him for the death of his wife and son]].
* OmnicidalManiac: [[spoiler:Fate Spider Carl suspects that he ''deliberately'' caused the tangle in the Fate Web, an event that will cause the death of K'Z'K and bring a RealityBreakingParadox, putting the universe to a permanent end.]]
* PowerTattoo: Unknown if the spiral on his forehead, but it was seen on his T-shirt when he was the petshop owner.
* YourSoulIsMine: [[spoiler:An apparition of him apparently threatens Tyler, a disgraced Hereti Corp agent with this after letting him out of Timeless Space.]]

The wife of Krohnus.
* DualWielding: In combat, she wields a pair of glowing swords.
* FacePalm: Does this frequently in reaction to her children’s eccentricities, especially Dunuloa's.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:She gets killed off by King Farahn shortly after he kills her son]].
* MamaBear: After [[spoiler:King Farahn kills her son, Kron, by using Chaz, she proceeds to charge at him with her own weapons. Her attack fails and she dies shortly after her son]].

!!'''Gaul/The Krig, God of Joy/Santa'''

The former Mohkadun God of Joy. He is currently the patron of Christmas and has a long running feud with Bun-bun.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: He used to be the Mohkadun god of Joy and is currently the co-patron of Christmas.
* ArchEnemy: To Bun-bun.
* BackFromTheDead: Was killed alongside quite a few other holidays by Bun-bun, but eventually gets brought back by a very literal DeusExMachina.
* BadassSanta
* BlessedWithSuck: As a Holiday, he remains TheAgeless, has some limited powers, and has an entire company of elves as employees. On the other hand, what is termed as the "Holiday Curse" places limits on what he can do with his divinity and manifests itself by leaving Santa stuck in TimeStandsStill once a year until all the presents are delivered.
* {{Depower}}: He was once a full fledged god, but at some point gets reduced to a holiday. While he still retains some power, he is reduced from immortal to TheAgeless.
* TheExile: [[spoiler:He is banished for allowing Khronus's children to endanger themselves in their efforts to save the world]].
* LastOfHisKind: He is the last of a tribe of violent barbarians called the Krig. All of them except for himself were wiped out, presumably due to summoning Kozoaku. Instead of going by his birth name, Gaul, he called himself The Krig to remind himself of their violent ways.
* OhMyGods: He says "Oh my us!" in response to seeing [[spoiler:the bodies of Lady Brehda and Kron]].
* TimeStandsStill: The Holiday Curse manifests itself in this fashion during Christmas until all the presents are delivered. But as the alien Santa discovers, it is also possible for him to activate it under normal circumstances, which can be useful in combat.
* TheVirus: An alien race with plans to invade the Earth had a WeaksauceWeakness to Nerf guns. As a toy manufacturer, Santa had a large supply, making the aliens believe he was a weapons provider. As part of their first strike, they infected him with their DNA, essentially replacing him with one of their own agents. Eventually, the alien Santa was murdered by Bun-bun, but ended up resurrected as himself at the conclusion of the Holiday War arc.
* WeaksauceWeakness: When he is converted into an alien, he is rendered NighInvulnerable to most attacks, but with a weakness to Nerf guns.

!!'''Lord Symachus, God of Justice'''

The Mohkadun God of Justice.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of Justice, supposedly. [[spoiler:He turns out to be corrupt and helps summon Kozoaku, the God of Destruction in an attempt to remove Khronus. Khronus eventually realizes that choosing Symachus for this position was a horrible mistake, and strips him of his divinity]].
* AmbitionIsEvil: He betrays the entire world in an attempt to be at the top.
* BeardOfEvil
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Pretends to be a hard working champion of Justice, but in actuality is quite treacherous.
* {{Curse}}: [[spoiler:As punishment for his betrayal, Khronus stripped him of his divinity, made him withered and feeble, left him with a HereditaryCurse of blindness, and weaved the Fate Web to ensure he would live a painful and never-ending life]].
* {{Depower}}: [[spoiler:Khronus strips him of his divinity as punishment for his crimes]].
* DevilInPlainSight: He has a tendency to turn away and smile with his eyes covered in a sinister looking manner. He claims it's a nervous habit.
* TheExile: Among other things, Khronus sends him away.
* FlyingDutchman: [[spoiler:Khronus stripped him of his divinity, but legend claims he left him immortal to increase his suffering as punishment for his crimes. It further states that his wife was later driven mad by K'Z'K and fled out into the desert, and that Symachus would spend the rest of eternity trying to find her, though in actuality, he fled when he and his wife were caught trying to summon K'Z'K to cure their son's eyesight and she ended up dead.]]
* RewardedAsATraitorDeserves: [[spoiler:Kozoaku reveals that he has absolutely no interest in Khronos's plans to stop him, [[BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu because he can't]], and "celebrates" Lord Symachus's treachery by stabbing him. Kozoaku then forces Symachus to beat himself up and [[YourSoulIsMine steals a fragment of his soul]].]]
* TheStarscream: [[spoiler:He, his band of mystics, and the Krigs summoned Kozoaku, bringing about the end of nearly all life on the planet. Krohnus gifted Lord Symachus and the last of the Krigs with Godhood in an effort to prevent this from ever happening again. But instead of being grateful, Lord Symachus noticed that there was tier of power above himself, and betrayed the entire world in a bid to kill and overthrow Krohnus.]]
* StayInTheKitchen: He looks down on women and is something of a misogynist.
* WeakWilled: [[spoiler:Kozoaku reveals that he can control those who are both evil and weak of soul. Lord Symachus qualifies, and Kozoaku makes him punch himself in the face]].

[[folder:Fate Spider Carl]]
!!'''Carl Wonkstein, The (Ex Ex) Fate Spider'''

A spider that used to serve under Father Time, by managing the Web of Fate. He is eventually fired for [[WellIntentionedExtremist sacrificing many lives to save the web]] and has since continued pulling the strands of fate as a freelancer.

* TheChessMaster: One of, if not, the best chess master in the game. Due to his position and Father Time's inattentive aloofness, he is able to directly interfere with fate itself. Not only that, he is extremely intelligent [[spoiler:and theorizes that Tempest himself allowed the Tangle to form.]] He brings the other two living Fate Spiders together in an attempt to change Fate just enough to save all of existence. His interference directly led to [[spoiler:Zoe's near-death, Riff's journey through the Dimension of Rain and 4U City, and set Torg on a final collision course with Herticorp and several other factions. It is possible that he helped the Potentials meet up with the Ordained for their clash against K'z'k. He plans to prevent K'z'k's death which would result in the end of all existence.]] Not bad for a spider.
* TheChooserOfTheOne: He is the one who chose Torg to save the Web.
* ForWantOfANail: At first, he assumes there is little he can do to stop the coming destruction of the Web, because he can only influence little things. But then his apprentice points out that even little things can make a big difference.
* ThereAreNoCoincidences: The Web exists to guide fate and protect the world. The Fate Spider has often been the one responsible for causing Torg and his friends to be present when trouble goes down.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Created a scenario that caused quite a lot of people to die, because he believed it was the only way to save the web.

[[folder:Fate Spider Googol]]
!!'''Googol, The First Fate Spider'''

The original Fate Spider, who once served under Tempest.
* AccidentalMisnaming: He refers to each of his successors as "Sally" to maintain consistency, since he has had one heck of a hectic "week" what with spending most of it in stasis.
* SealedGoodInACan: He has been awakening every 50 years out of stasis for 1-2 hours to check how things are going in an attempt to thwart the Destroyer's long term plans.
* ThereAreNoCoincidences: He has been providing subtle guidance to the heroes. Among other things, he is responsible for the convenient placement of a basket of magic eggs that allowed them to prevail.

[[folder:The Pumpkin King]]
!!'''Stiks, The Pumpkin King'''

The current patron of Halloween, whom the other holidays chose as Basphomy's replacement due to his harmlessness.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: Of Halloween. Under his supervision, Halloween is no longer a holiday of true fear, but one in jest, much to its original patron, Basphomy's displeasure.
* BackFromTheDead: Bun-bun, with Basphomy's help, managed to murder him to steal his power. But thanks to a very literal DeusExMachina, he is eventually brought back.
* BecomeARealBoy: Lonely, an incompetent puppet maker wished his greatest masterpiece, Stiks, to life. To his amazement, the moon twin, Dunuloa, granted his wish and he raised Stiks as a son. The townspeople were terrified of Stiks and chased him away. Saddened, he wanted to become a real boy. Dunuloa, who had become the cruel creature known as Basphomy, offered to grant him this wish, at a price.
* FaustianRebellion: Basphomy gave him flesh, but only temporarily. She said that if he wished to keep her gift, he would have to ''take'' it by murdering his "father". But instead, he carved a pumpkin for his head, enraging her. The other holidays, who were growing fearful of Basphomy's ambition, decided he would make a perfect replacement.

!!'''Dunuloa, the Moon Twin/Basphomy'''

A demigod and one of Khronos's daughters. She became the patron of Halloween and spread terror and fear, but was eventually replaced by the Pumpkin King.
* AbsoluteCleavage: The way she used to dress.
* {{Fetish}}: She [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/140310 apparently has one]] for magically binding men in her clothing.
* FaceHeelTurn: She was always rather unstable, but after [[spoiler:her brother and mother were murdered by a mortal]], she felt that the gods had been too kind to them. To ensure they knew their place, she decided to become a curse on humankind and show them the true meaning of fear, as the patron of a nightmarish holiday.
* TheFogOfAges: As Basphomy, she recalls little of her past and has to struggle to remember any of it.
* KickTheDog: [[spoiler:She decided to punish all of humanity for King Farahn's murder of her mother, starting with the refugees of Mohkadun. She demanded that they guard the scroll sealing K'Z'K, saying that if mankind could not maintain the prison, then they all deserved to die. The leader of the refugees was left with no choice but to accept. As mere mortals, they were vulnerable to K'Z'K's presence, and K'Z'K gave them the choice between setting him free or being DrivenToMadness one by one and wandering the desert until most of them were dead. Dunuloa was fully counting on this to happen, and hoped they would ultimately fail. Refugee after refugee went mad and tried to summon K'Z'K, forcing their leader to kill them. Dunuloa only relented after their leader was forced to kill Siphaniana, finally appeased by the amount of blood on his hands.]]
* MadScientist: She was formerly one of these, or at least, the magical equivalent thereof. She is responsible for the creation of several of the comic's most important artifacts, including the Book of E-Ville and the camel necklace among other things. She is implied to have conducted reckless and unethical experiments on mortals, much to her father's frustration. She drops the scientist gig after becoming Basphomy.
* MeaningfulRename: To Basphomy, which was derived from Blasphemy.
* MindRape: Her main power after becoming Basphomy.
* {{Necromancer}}: She becomes one of these after her FaceHeelTurn.
* ProperlyParanoid: Suspected that Gwynn might not be Queen Siphaniana. Luckily, all Gwynn had to do is distract her by asking what one of her inventions does.
* RewardedAsATraitorDeserves: She betrayed the Pumpkin King in hope of recovering her position as patron of Halloween. But when Bun-bun came to enjoy the power of being patron himself, he realized she would betray him. He rewarded her aid by allowing her to torment the world as she liked. But only once a year, with the rest of it spent imprisoned in the obsidian cage.
* SealedEvilInACan: Her ultimate fate, and ironically enough by another evil doer. Bun-bun imprisons her in the obsidian cage for the rest of eternity save once a year on Halloween, to ensure she doesn't backstab him the way she backstabbed the Pumpkin King.
* SiblingYinYang: With her twin sister, Rana. She was called the moon twin where her sister was called the sun twin. She is also considerably less stable and empathetic than her sister.
* SplitPersonality: Possibly. "Bast" first shows up claiming Dunuloa poured all her darkness into her, and in Pumpkin King's story the Moon Twin and Basphomy exist during the same period, with Basphomy emerging during the dark moon.
* TheStarScream: The other holidays were terrified of her and voted the [[HarmlessVillain Pumpkin King]] in as her replacement. She always kept a hammer ready in case she ever got a good opportunity to usurp him, and eventually sided with Bun-bun.
* StrangeMindsThinkAlike: Gwynn calls her the magical She-riff, because her inventions have the exact same unreliable tendencies and quirks as Riff's do. She also has the same enthusiasm for explosions.

[[folder:Groundhog's Shadow]]
!!'''Groundhog's Shadow'''

The Groundhog's Shadow is the patron of Groundhog's Day. It was originally a shade in Halloween before getting its own holiday. Bun-bun summoned it with the Book of E-Ville in hopes of removing his Easter patronage, but Torg accidentally bound it to Bun-bun with an ambient halogen light. It stayed like this till the holiday war where The shadow foolishly slew 2003 seconds before the year ended, forcing Bun-bun to use the Deus Ex Ovum to save his own life. The Deus Ex Ovum returned the shadow back to the original groundhog.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: He enjoyed tormenting Bun-bun by singing annoying karaoke songs, but after several hours of Kiki joining in, even ''he'' got irritated by her karaoke.
* LivingShadow
* ThePrankster: likes scaring people by creating scary shadow images.

!!'''King Farahn'''

The King of the ancient city of Mohkadun.
* AntiVillain: There is little doubt that he was a tyrannical jerk responsible for the deaths of many innocents. But his worst misdeeds were in response to Kron placing a curse on his favorite wife, and were goaded on by the manipulations of said wife and the evil god of [[spoiler:justice, Lord Symachus]].
* ApologeticAttacker: [[spoiler:He tells Krohnus that he had no quarrel with his wife, Brehda, but justifies killing her as defending himself against the forbidden magic she used against him to avenge her son]].
* BullyingADragon: He makes demands of Kozoaku, God of Destruction, to help him get revenge against Kron. Annoyed, Kozoaku summons him a god-killing sword to aid him in this task. Complete with a warrior of the Never dimension already wielding it intended to kill him. [[spoiler:This conveniently fails, since Kozoaku summoned said warrior over a scorpion pit and said warrior, Satan, has a phobia towards scorpions]].
* ClingyMacguffin: [[spoiler:In the present era, he always remains close by to Gwynn, who he loves, thus foiling any attempts to remove the Book of E-ville that he is still sealed inside of.]]
* CoolSword: He was a previous wielder of Chaz.
* IfICantHaveYou: In the altered timeline Gwynn ends up in, Queen Siphaniana was seemingly driven mad by a cursed camel necklace. In actuality, she experienced a MentalTimeTravel FreakyFridayFlip with Gwynn. While Queen Siphaniana loved her husband and manipulated him to remain his favorite wife, Gwynn hated King Farahn, considering him a misogynist, and [[LoveTriangle greatly preferred Kron]]. King Farahn eventually lost patience with his wife's apparent madness and demanded she declare her love for him on pain of death. Gwynn!Siphaniana repeatedly refused. [[spoiler:Upon being denied after what he claimed to be her final chance, he finds himself unable to go through with it and starts weeping]].
* KillTheGod: His main goal was to get revenge against Kron for placing his favorite wife under a curse and seducing her away. [[spoiler:He ultimately succeeds and ends up killing Kron's mother as well when she tries to avenge her son]].
* MoralMyopia: He demands "justice" for Kron falling in love with Farahn's favorite wife. In the process, he orders a random stable girl killed for seeing queen at "not her best," violently suppresses the resulting rebellion, and summons the Destroyer to get revenge on the gods. When Brehda attacks him with magic after [[spoiler:he kills her son]], Farahn [[spoiler:kills her too]], then claims "justice is still with me," since she was using forbidden magic against him. Never mind that the reason magic is forbidden is because it might release the Destroyer, which Farahn already did.
* OhCrap: [[spoiler:Starts getting nervous as Dunuloa seals him away into a scroll]].
* PowersViaPossession: [[spoiler:After Kozoaku is forced to possess him, King Farahn remarks on the awesome power he feels. Shortly before both of them are sealed away into a scroll. By extension, he has shared these same powers with Gwynn]].
* {{Revenge}}: His main motive after Khronos's son, Kron, placed a curse on his favorite wife and accidentally broke her mind.
* RevengeBeforeReason: [[spoiler:As the son of the most important god of Mohkadun, Kron was out of King Farahn's reach, since Khronos wouldn't allow any of the mortals to harm him. At the traitorous god of Justice's recommendation, he began summoning Kozoaku, God of Destruction, to wreak his vengeance. Even though this would be guaranteed to seal the doom of his entire city.]]
* SealedBadassInACan: [[spoiler:In order to defeat Kozoaku, Dunuloa forced Kozoaku to use DemonicPossession on King Farahn and sealed Farahn himself into a scroll that would later be bound into the Book of E-ville. As far as morality is concerned, he was an antagonist, but is currently on the side of Gwynn]].
* SealedInsideAPersonShapedCan: [[spoiler:In order to deal with Kozoaku, Dunuloa forced him to use DemonicPossession on King Farahn]].
* TakingUpTheMantle: [[spoiler:Kron adopted the diamond as his symbol, to represent the pyramid of mankind over the pyramid of the gods and the fact that he felt the gods should serve mortals. In her final moments of life, King Farahn's favorite wife, Siphaniana, chided Kron over this, believing him unworthy of his symbol. She felt that the diamond rightfully belonged to King Farahn, and King Farahn would eventually adopt it as his own.]]
* UnwittingPawn: The God of Justice promised to give him justice over Kron. [[spoiler:But he was only using him as a pawn to summon Kozoaku and kill Kron's father, the TopGod, Khronos]].
* WrongNameOutburst: Despite having used Gwynn's name before, he calls her Siphaniana when trying to protect her from K'Z'K.

A demigod and the son of Khronos.
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:King Farahn succeeds in killing him with Chaz]].
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: He developed a crush on Queen Siphaniana, King Farahn's favorite wife, who led him on for OperationJealousy. In order to sneak her out of the stables, he put a cursed necklace on her to transform her into a camel, so as to smuggle her into private. In the original timeline, Siphaniana manipulated her husband's jealousy. In the altered timeline Gwynn ends up in, K'Z'K's manipulations result in a MentalTimetravel FreakyFridayFlip with Gwynn. Either way, everyone thought that he had placed a beloved Queen under a terrible curse, building up tensions between mortals and gods. Enraged, they tried to have him killed, but Khronos stepped in and prevented it. The God of Justice [[spoiler:proceeded to take advantage of the situation by manipulating King Farahn's desire to avenge his beloved Queen and convinced the king to summon Kozoaku.]]
* StopWorshippingMe: His father believed that the gods should be above mankind to serve as role models. Kron believed that the gods should be below mankind in order to better serve them.
* UnwittingPawn: Queen Siphaniana truly loved her husband and was only flirting with Kron as a means of [[OperationJealousy making King Farahn jealous to keep his eyes on her]] and thus remain his favorite wife.

!!'''Queen Siphaniana'''

King Farahn's favorite wife and the first wearer of the camel necklace.
* BreakTheHaughty: She was the favorite wife of the king of the most important city in the world and took great pride in this fact, looking down on the peasants. She was also skilled at wrapping men around her finger. But in the end, [[spoiler:her own petty manipulations brought about the downfall of her entire kingdom, and while she survived]], she was reduced to a nobody.
* {{Curse}}: She was the first victim of a certain necklace made by one of Kronos's daughters. With a certain keyword, "shupid", the necklace would [[BalefulPolymorph turn her into a camel]], and with the other keyword, "kwi", she would change back. Kron placed the necklace on her to smuggle her out of the stables, but something went wrong and it resulted in a MentalTimeTravel FreakyFridayFlip with Gwynn. With Gwynn, a foreigner who did not speak the local language, in control of Siphaniana's body, everyone believed the curse had driven her mad.
* DrivenToMadness: In the altered past Gwynn ended up in, the people of Mohkadun believed this to have happened to her because of a curse. It happens for real [[spoiler:long after the fall of Mohkadun, due to her longing for her husband]].
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: look at trope below
* FreakyFridayFlip: Spends years as this, with her in Gwynn's body in the future and Gwynn in her body in the past.
* KilledOffForReal: She tried to release [[spoiler:her husband from the scroll he was sealed in. Unfortunately, this also would have unleashed K'Z'K as well, and as a result, Maloufo was forced to kill her]].
* OperationJealousy: She was only one of King Farahn's many wives. In order to become King Farahn's favorite, she would do things to keep his attention trained on her. One of her tactics was to make him jealous. She played along with Kron's crush towards this end. In the original timeline, it ended up backfiring when [[spoiler:the king was manipulated into summoning Kozoaku and ended up sealed in the Book of E-ville]]. In the altered timeline, it ends up backfiring when [[spoiler:K'Z'K's interference]] causes a MentalTimeTravel FreakyFridayFlip with Gwynn.

!!'''Scholar Soco'''

One of Mohkadun's scholars, who King Farahn assigned to treating Siphaniana's apparent madness.
* TheChosenOne: He was a "potential", a hero of the Fate Web chosen to protect it. In an older timeline, he invented the plan to defeat Kozoaku. He advised the godlings to steal the vowels in his true name and [[SealedEvilInACan seal him in a scroll]]. Sadly, in the alternate timeline Gwynn ends up time travelling back to, her and K'Z'K's interference allows Kozoaku, God of Destruction, and the opponent the web was meant to defend against, to slay him easily. As a result, the Fate Web directs Gwynn to help fulfil his fate instead to put the timeline back on course.
* HypocriticalHumor: Not knowing any better, he speaks Kron's name in the Great Hall of the Gods, something Khronos has forbidden in order to punish his son for causing so much trouble. When Gwynn enters the room and makes the same mistake, he sarcastically says "You dare mention Kron? You fool!"
* KilledOffForReal: In the original timeline, he was killed off by Kozoaku towards the endgame. In the altered timeline Gwynn is summoned into, he gets killed off directly by Kozoaku a bit earlier.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: He bragged about his plan to reimprison the God of Destruction in taverns, allowing the traitorous God of [[spoiler:Justice]] to hear about it and forcing him to accelerate his plans. Had he kept his mouth shut, King Farahn would have been killed by the rebels before he could summon Kozoaku, the traitor god would have been forced to find a new pawn, and the plan to defeat Kozoaku would have been ready before Kozoaku could have had enough time to destroy Mohkadun.
* SecretKeeper: Is keeping the secret that Gwynn's mind is in the queen's body and is actually from the future.

Introduced as Dex's girlfriend, after his death in the KITTEN storyline (which traumatised her and left her with a fear of cats) she was briefly a LoveInterest to Torg. Sluggy-Prime Angela has not been seen since "KITTEN II" (at the end of which she was left catatonic) but her 4U City AlternateUniverse counterpart played a role in the revolution there.
* ClingyJealousGirl: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20000702 Described as usually this early on]], but attempting OperationJealousy instead.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Downplayed compared to most of the cast, but [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20011121 apparently it runs in the family]].
* RomanticFalseLead: To Torg.

[[folder:Nana Avarre]]
!!'''Dr. Nana Avarre, "The Angsty Dentist"'''

A creepy [[{{Goth}} Gothic]] DepravedDentist. Dated Riff at one point. Her AlternateUniverse counterparts have often featured: her Dimension of Lame version was all sweetness and light, her Dimension of Ghouls version was an ace fighter pilot but equally angsty, and her 4U City counterpart was almost immediately judgement-chuted for being [[HappinessIsMandatory insufficiently happy]].
%%* CrazyAwesome: Neutralised a bunch of Vrykolakas Circle vampires by stealing their fangs while they slept by day. Not for that reason, just because she wanted them for her collection.
* DepravedDentist
* PerkyGoth: Occasionally, but not the norm.
* SlasherSmile
* StalkerWithACrush: Towards Riff.
* TortureTechnician: PlayedForLaughs.

A SuperSoldier from a BadFuture sent back in time by Dr Schlock to stop K'z'k taking over the world. Was killed in the process.
* InsistentTerminology: Calling Torg "[[AccidentalMisnaming Cupcake]]".
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Did far more to ''help'' than hurt K'z'k's attempt at world conquest, due to assuming Torg was the one who summoned K'z'k rather than Gwynn based on an out-of-context record photo ([[SelfFulfillingProphecy which actually showed Torg using the Book of E-ville to try and stop Gwynn]]).
* ShoutOut: Is apparently one to TabletopGame/{{Planescape}}
* TheUnintelligible: Due to an overuse of incomprehensible FutureSlang supposedly, though in actuality, future Schlock can't understand him any better.

[[folder:Dr. Crabtree]]
!!'''Dr. Catherine Crabtree'''

One of Dr. Schlock's former colleagues, she invented nanites designed to collect information on animals from within during animal testing, but ended up using them on herself to become the powerful Nanite Queen.
* AssimilationBackfire: She can gain the knowledge of people by eating their brains...but when she tries it on Sam Sein she is infected with his stupidity, and when she tries it on Christmas Elves she is compelled to frolic everywhere singing "lolly la!"
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: After a long buildup, is unceremoniously wiped out by Aylee's EMP. The abruptness of this is lampshaded.
* HumiliationConga: Repeatedly damaged both physically and mentally by Bun-bun's Home Alone style house traps (intended for Torg and the gang after Aylee erased his Baywatch tapes).
* KickTheDog: Actively hates animals and Kiki in particular.
* ManOfAThousandFaces: She at one point demonstrates the ability to shapeshift for this, but can't concentrate enough to do it after being infected with Sam's stupidity.
* YouWillBeAssimilated

The obligatory local bartender. Doesn't seem to mind all that much that one of her customers is a talking rabbit.
* TheBartender
* CommutingOnABus: As the plots often to take the characters far from home, let alone to the local bar, Crystal tends to go long periods of time without appearing. However, in periods where she does appear she can recur quite a bit.
* LethalChef: Don't come to her Survivor Night when she tries making new mixed drinks.
* MauveShirt: In times where she had more of a supporting role. She's been a bystander to a few of the gang's crazier and deadlier adventures, yet always managed to avoid the strip's trademark BlackHumor.

A college friend of Zoe's she had a crush on, but it turned out that he was only interested in her because she worked for Dr. Lorna at the time. Later appeared with his girlfriend Angela and was killed in the first KITTEN storyline.
* ForWantOfANail: Him calling Zoe boring (below) is inadvertently responsible for the Storm Breaker saga, as it motivated her to join in one of Torg and Riff's crazy plans for once.
* FreudianSlip: "I think you're very nice and boring, Zoe! I just said 'beautiful', right? 'Nice and beautiful'?"
* {{Jerkass}}
* KilledOffForReal: By The EVIL.

!!'''"Freaky" Fred'''

Introduced as a crazy member of the remedial group of cannibals in a course Aylee was sent on, his Sluggy-Prime version [[spoiler:was eaten himself by the teacher at the end of it]], but his Dimension of Lame version appeared years later and became a major character in "That Which Redeems".
* AxCrazy: He's a member of a remedial group of cannibals. What part of that do you not understand?
** Torg calls him one of the most disturbed individuals in the Dimension of Lame... because he used to fashion rice cakes in the shape of people and then eat them.
* DespairEventHorizon: His Dimension of Lame counterpart induces it in Torg, as Fred is the most AxCrazy person Torg has met in the Dimension of Lame by its own standards, [[spoiler:and still breaks down in a MyGodWhatHaveIDone fashion after tapping a demon on the foot with a hammer]].
* FantasticRacism: Against Aylee the alien and Percy the mammoth.
* ImAHumanitarian
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Has green hair.

Was a [[BlandNameProduct Neebler cookie elf]] till becoming a Black-ops elf (a high ranking one, thanks to Bun-bun). The only one of the magical creatures connected to the holidays that knows Bun-bun is alive.
* FantasticRacism: According to Squishydodo is subject to it by the 'pure-blood' Christmas elves, although we haven't actually seen it happen.
* TheInformant

[[folder:Blinky and Clyde]]
!!'''Blinky and Clyde'''

Two filler minions transported into a fantasy world.
* TheBadGuyWins: They ultimately side with the Scorpion Wizard King, help him enslave the town of Dumbblefolk, defeat the good wizard they were working for earlier, and live happily ever after. However, WordOfGod has it that either ending can be [[ShrugOfGod considered canon.]]
* {{Mooks}}: Their job profession is henchman, though it appears that Blinky trying to become a hunter.
* PoorCommunicationKills: They thought the wizard said most 'chased' woman in town when he said most chaste. and because of it the dragon coming to burn them all to cinder [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/130220]].
* StalkerwithACrush: Blinky has shown shades of this:
-->'''Blinky:''' Someday I hope Pinky, Blinky and Clyde can chase Ms. Pachmon around the maze together as a team.
-->'''Clyde:''' That's creepy dude.
* ThoseTwoBadGuys: In a more comical sense like [[TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles Bebop and Rocksteady.]]

Izzy/Isabella is the sister of the Minion Master, and had helped him design his base and keep it secret. She rescued the Minion Master from Bestseid with the help of Torg, Sasha, and Sam. She and Minion Master defected to Hereti-Corp, taking the location of Dr. Steve's base-lab with them.
* AlternateUniverse: Izzy's 4U City counterpart [[spoiler:who is Alt-Riff's wife]] was introduced before her Sluggy-Prime version. Both turned out to be important to the plot, however.
* BeleagueredAssistant: Her brother, Anthony, is largely worthless and TheDitz. He is almost completely reliant on her for everything, and her uncle once went so far as to advise her to abandon him, since Anthony would likely get them both killed.
* GirlsWithGuns: Sluggy-Prime version.
* MustHaveCaffeine: Her 4U City version, at least, is obsessed with coffee.

Dated Zoe a few times, and later the Angsty Dentist. A {{Jerkass}} with right-wing political views. His uncle is the vampire hunter Arminius Vambrey. His Sluggy-Prime version not been seen since 2004, but his Dimension of Lame counterpart (apparently a [[GranolaGirl Granola Boy]]) was briefly seen after that.
* AgentScully: Takes skepticism to ridiculous degrees, convinced vampires are cosplayers or [=LARPers=] even when they're doing supernatural things right in front of him.
* {{Jerkass}}
* TheMark: Was manipulated by [[spoiler:his hero, Creator/DonaldTrump]] into taking over Riff and Torg's lemonade stand along with his own, only to have both of them taken from him.
* StrawmanPolitical

Zoe's onetime boyfriend who worked as a human cannonball. Walked out on the group after the Dimension of Sham-Pain incident when he was unable to cope with the weirdness. His Sluggy-Prime version has not been since then, but his 4U City counterpart has appeared and played a role in the resistance, then opened a coffee shop after the revolution.
* AgentScully: Like Kent (though not to the same extreme) [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/040824 also thought Zoe was making up all the supernatural incidents that happen to the group]]. But unlike Kent, when he actually witnessed the craziness with his own eyes, he didn't go into ImplausibleDeniability.
* HypocriticalHumour: "[[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20040829 Leo, old boy, Zoe's lifestyle is just too odd for you]]" he thinks before being shot out of a cannon.
* LaserGuidedKarma: After walking out on Zoe after the Dimension of Sham-Pain incident (which involved Zoe, Riff and him putting on weight from demon-food that is impossible to ever lose) he was then involved in a cannon accident due to his extra weight having changed his trajectory, resulting in serious injuries.
* LovingAShadow: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/20060427 Bun-bun, at least, thinks]] Zoe only dated him because he reminded her of Torg.
* ObfuscatingInsanity: Exaggerates the bizarreness of his job to make Torg and Riff underestimate him. Possibly subverted because it turns out his job really ''is'' that weird sometimes.
* WouldHitAGirl: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/040824 Accidentally]].

[[folder:The Minion Master]]
!!'''The Minion Master / Anthony'''

Introduced as a generic parody villain (or at least someone who wants to be) whom Bun-bun was renting out his ElaborateUndergroundBase to. His plan to TakeOverTheWorld was simply to recruit more and more people as his minions, which he could do because he is very skilled at erasing wanted people's identities from electronic systems and giving them new ones. This is said to be the only thing he is really good at. After Zoe and Riff were lost, Torg put together a team who went undercover as the Minion Master's minions and took part in the Research and Development Wars against Hereti-Corp, using his organisation as a front. However, Minion Master was eventually overthrown by Bestseid. He and his sister Izzy now work for Hereti-Corp.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: He seems incredibly quirky and incompetent at first, with even his first disappearing act being nothing more than him hiding behind an object. However, he's actually extremely good at erasing peoples' tracks, identities, and going into hiding. So good that even his sister, who was revealed to be his ManBehindTheMan when it came to that sort of thing, didn't know he was still alive.
* FaceHeelTurn: Well, from a largely InNameOnly villain to one who works for Hereti-Corp, though he and Izzy only went there because they saw it as their only choice.
* FaceMonsterTurn: [[spoiler:He gets turned into a vampire and is {{Mind Control}}led by his sire to work against the main cast.]]
* TheFaceless: Until the Bestseid arc.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Originally, starting out as a thoroughly incompetent and comical "villain".
* KickTheDog: [[spoiler:After becoming a vampire, he is initially forced to work against his sister. But when Urja, his sire, is too distracted to MindControl him, he ponders whether he should let his sister go or give her a MercyKill. But he ultimately settles on embracing TranshumanTreachery, deciding to drain and enslave his sister to augment his own vampyric power.]]
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:Just before he can drain his sister dry, Riff stakes him with a stake shooting gun.]]
* TheMinionMaster: TropeNamer, but not really an example.
* NerdInEvilsHelmet: He became the Minion Master due to an obsession with a comic book villain and continues to demonstrate some nerdy tendencies.
* OneOfUs: {{In-universe}} example when he joins in Torg, Zoe and Riff's [[CavemenVersusAstronautsDebate argument about the axiom of flavour]].
* PasteEater: He liked to eat paste as a kid and still hasn't outgrown it as an adult.
* PokeThePoodle: He starts out as a comical HarmlessVillain. Though he becomes considerably more serious and dangerous after his FaceMonsterTurn.
* ReportsOfMyDeathWereGreatlyExaggerated: Hereti Corp's database records him as dead, but he later turns out to be alive. [[spoiler:It turns out they were half right. He got turned into a vampire.]]
* StrangerBehindTheMask: Given Pete Abrams' fondness for TheReveal and plot twists, fans were expecting Minion Master to be someone they had seen before, so this was quite a MetaTwist.

!!'''Agent Brian Rammer'''

A government agent.
* ConflictBall: A couple of his counterparts in [[AlternateUniverse Alternate Universes]] suddenly pick fights with the protagonists for flimsy reasons. The way he can alternate between being helpful and an obstacle gets {{Lampshaded}} by Torg.
* DeathByIrony: [[spoiler:He is killed on his unknowing father's orders thanks to being a coworker with a government agent hunting for Schlock.]]
* ExpendableAlternateUniverse: Inverted--Sluggy-Prime's version of Rammer has barely appeared [[spoiler:and ended up being killed offscreen by Kusari]] while his counterparts in two different [[AlternateUniverse Alternate Universes]] have become fairly important characters.
* GoodIsNotDumb: Every version of Rammer will lie, cheat, use bribes, and bash someone's head against a wall if necessary because they know that doing so is the best way to accomplish good. They also won't completely trust someone until they have ample proof.
* GoodIsNotNice: See above in GoodIsNotDumb.
* HeroAntagonist: The [[IdiotHero Idiot Heroes]] ''did'' cause an InferredHolocaust via Aylee rampaging about a neighborhood after all.
* HeroicBastard: [[spoiler:He is Dr. Schlock's unknowing son.]]
* KilledToUpholdTheMasquerade: [[spoiler:Right when he is about to report back to the government with pictures of Riff using a portal device to bring back Aylee, he gets assasinated by Kusari on Dr. Schlock's orders. Though played with somewhat, as it turns out Schlock only wanted the person he was meeting dead, had no idea Rammer was even going to be there and was totally unaware of the information Rammer had just acquired.]]
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: Every version of Rammer has this to some extent. Notable is the "ghoul" universe's Rammer.
-->'''Rammer:''' [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/070809 I guess because the end never justifies the means except when it does.]]

[[folder:Nash Straw]]
!!'''Nash Straw/[[spoiler:Reynold Strom]] (and many other aliases)'''

An IntrepidReporter looking for his next big scoop in the secrets of Podunktown. In truth, he is a hitman/ bounty hunter. In his first appearance, he is after the bounty placed upon the mysterious vigilante who has destroyed the Canadian mob operations in Podunktown, who of course turns out to be Oasis. After killing Oasis with a sniper rifle and watching her subsequent revival, he joins up with Hereti corp, trading his information on Oasis in return for a position.

He was last seen working as a tracker for the K'Z'K Cult alongside N'aaaw, as one of their best field agents, despite not being demon-possessed.
* AntiHero[=/=]AntiVillain: No matter what version of Nash it is, he is always just in it for himself. He will be a hero or a villain according to whichever state is more profitable to him.
* BadassLongcoat
* BadassNormal: As far as we know, he has no special powers or technology. He is also one of the handful of beings to successfully kill ''Oasis'' (''twice'', though she wasn't in a position to fight back the second time). [[spoiler:Actually ''three'' times if you include sniping Harbinger in 4U City.]]
* BountyHunter: His real occupation.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: He murders the woman who helped him track down Oasis. He later gains employment at Hereti Corp, but double crosses them to cash in Oasis's bounty and go work for the Cult of K'Z'K. After learning that the Cult of K'Z'K intents to [[OmnicidalManiac destroy the world]], he starts contemplating how to sabotage them.
* ColdSniper: It depends. He will blow you away without mercy, but it's "just business" to him. He is friendly to his allies and a bit of a casanova, but he will still stab you in the back later if it benefits him. He will also kill the innocent or his allies if he deems them a risk, but he will apologize for it. He avoids unnecessary killing otherwise, though are some people that he targets as part of a personal grudge. For these people, he draws out the fight because killing them quickly is too good for them, but he he will kill them earlier than he intended to if it's the pragmatic choice. He seems to have pretty strict codes about who he kills and how he treats other people.
* IHaveManyNames: Although they all seem to be related: Nash Straw, Warren Nashville, Reynold Strom, Reid Nash, etc. Father Time refers to him as "The Strawman".
* IntrepidReporter: In his first appearance, he is trying to uncover the secrets of Podunktown, believing it will lead to his next big scoop. Three guesses how that ends up.
* NiceHat: Both versions of him have a very nice hat.
* ProfessionalKiller
* SpannerInTheWorks: [[spoiler:He was basically this to Dr. Schlock's Triangle plan, stealing Oasis away just before he discovered the location of Dr. Steve's base camp, which would have allowed Schlock to awaken Oasis's full potential and bring her under his control.]]
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Very narrowly avoids becoming this. [[spoiler:Earlier, he overheard that killing Gwynn's body would be enough to stop K'Z'K. But by the time he tries it, that information is out of date and would have only hurt the matter. Fortunately, Bun-bun saves Gwynn's life by knocking off his aim, allowing the bullet to merely graze her.]]
* VillainousRescue: [[spoiler:There are two cults dedicated to K'Z'K. The Release wants to destroy the world through the actual demon K'Z'K. In order to stop Zoe from fulfilling her destiny of defeating K'Z'K, The Release tries to murder her. But the Cult of K'Z'K merely use K'Z'K as a metaphor and are perfectly fine with bringing about the end themselves. They order Strum to protect her so they can use her as insurance to force Skippy's cooperation. He ends up sniping Qaboos just before he can kill Zoe.]]
* WalkingArmory

A Black-Ops Christmas Elf that worked for Bun-bun till the Holiday Wars and thinks he is dead at the moment (due to Bun-bun wanting to lay low.)
* BatmanGambit: Sets one up with his wife's help to manipulate Bun-bun and company into helping him. [[spoiler:He sets up shop in a deserted Indian reservation, knowing that Bun-bun's greed would motivate him into wanting to set up a casino. And wanting to recruit Riff due being the original inventor of the TeleportGun Hereti Corp uses, he badly screws up building Bun-bun's casino, resulting in Bun-bun allowing Riff over in return for helping build it]].
* TheCavalry: Did this in a way that wouldn't raise the suspicions of Alien Santa (Thus giving Bun-bun the tool needed to defeat him.)
* ConflictingLoyalty: Had this during the Holiday Wars, but ultimately decided to side with Bunbun against Santa Claus.
* DeadGuyJunior: His son is named 'Squishybunbunbunbun' in honour of Bun-bun, who he believes to be deceased. Notably even other Christmas Elves think this is a case of WhoNamesTheirKidDude.
* EverythingIsRacist: Uses this attitude to coerce a government lawyer into giving Bunbun permission to open a casino.
* HappilyMarried: With Slappyhoho, even having a son. Though it doesn't stop him getting involved in a drunken bet using a spy satellite to look into Hottiehothot's shower.
* NumberTwo: He starts out as 3rd in command of one company of Black-Ops Elves. After Leaderleadlead and his second are killed by Bunbun, he becomes number 2. After Bunbun is banished to Timeless Space, he once again falls 2nd in command to [[{{Thoughtcrime}} Thawtypopo]], who expands Squishy's spying ideas into a full fledged Google {{Expy}}. After Thawtypopo is banished by Hereti Corp, he describes himself as made of this trope since all his previous bosses had bad things happen to them. He later ends up 2nd in command to [[spoiler:Torg]].
* OutDamnedSpot: [[http://www.sluggy.com/comics/archives/daily/150505 Squishy does a lot of bad stuff in this comic for Bun Bun.]] [[{{Understatement}} He wasn't proud of himself.]]
* RewardedAsATraitorDeserves: He betrays alien Santa to Bunbun and Mrs. Santa asks Bunbun about this trope when Basphomy herself is subjected to it, but in his case it is averted.
* YouAreInCommandNow: He started out as third in command of a group of Black-Ops Christmas Elves who had abandoned Santa and gone freelance, rapidly rising to the top after Bun-bun threw both his superiors out of the window and Squishydodo decided to cooperate.

[[folder:Arminus Vambrey]]
!!'''Arminius Vambrey'''

A VampireHunter and Kent's uncle. His Dimension of Lame counterpart was also briefly seen at the beginning of "That Which Redeems".
* AgentMulder: Sees ''everything'' as connected with vampires.
* BunnyEarsLawyer
* CrazyPrepared
* ProperlyParanoid: To some extent, but often takes it too far.
* UnusualEuphemism: Refers to vampire hunting as "the study of languages".

Currently taking care of the EVIL so it doesn't run rampant.
* SealedEvilInACan: Tries to do this with the kittens by keeping them fed with their WeaksauceWeakness; milk. Unfortunately, she did not count on an insane military commander clown messing things up. At great expense in human life, she eventually got it back under control though.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Green hair variant.

A Teutonic spellcasting student who develops a romantic interest in Gwynn.
* CombatTentacles: He develops a vine based version as he starts losing control of his curse. [[spoiler:He accidentally uses them to strangle Gwynn]].
* TheEmpath: He specializes in empathic spells.
* GettingSmiliesPaintedOnYourSoul: His signature spell is the ability to make people happy. Which is how he manages to resist his curse much longer than the others so inflicted.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Losing control to his curse, he is shocked back to his senses when he realizes that he has [[spoiler:killed Gwynn]].
* OurZombiesAreDifferent: [[spoiler:He and his friends were murdered by a zombie lord plant monster and its minions. Anyone killed in its presence rises as a plant-based zombie. They start out lifelike, with their minds, appearance, and spellcasting intact. But as the curse wears on their minds, they become increasingly prone to hate. If they lose control of their tempers, their souls burn out, they transform into monsters themselves, and they become the slaves of the zombie lord]].
* SprintShoes: He had a pair of boots that allowed him to use SuperSpeed. He passes them on to Gwynn when he [[spoiler:realizes his doom]].
* TomatoInTheMirror: [[spoiler:He forgot that he died when he was raised as an undead]].
* UncertainDoom: [[spoiler:He is last seen getting crushed by the flower demon's foot, but his fate is never explicitly confirmed, with Gwynn simply hoping that she saved his soul.]]
